We started with the papaya salad, which was super flavorful ,fresh, tangy, and just the right amount of spice. This used to be my little go-to place for years when I was working near the area. I was craving quick, good thai food, and again, it was disappointing. I think this location is under new ownership since I met the original owner years ago. I order two things I normally get, Pad thai and Thai tea, both where not good . At about $20 I would expect atleast a decent meal, but no.. Chicken was tough and dry, truly the worst I have ever had for an Asian place. The dish itself lack flavor even needed more salt. The noodles and egg has a weird after taste like burnt oil. I'm very disappointed.. Even the thai tea was bad, it tasted a little water down and it had a weird after taste. It tasted like it had been sitting in a plastic container too long , kinda like when water that's left in the sun acquired the taste of the container. A small thai restaurant tucked in the back, easily missed if you just drive by. Staff was friendly. Price is very reasonable and one of the many reason I keep returning. Thai tea is good, not watered-down like some other places. I have tried the pad see ew, rad na, and drunken noodles. All are good and I would recommend. I have never been to a restaurant that serves a Thai tea that huge and it was perfect. Creamy, not watered down, not too sweet. Orange chicken was great! Didn't feel like tough dried frozen orange chicken. It was crispy, light, and tasted like real orange. Pad se ew was yum! The pork had a nice subtle Smokey char to it that paired well with the noodles and veggies. Gyozas were a good meaty flavor but the sauce it came with was the cherry on top. I've gone back easy 6 times in 6 weeks and I always get the Spicy Basil Jasmine Rice with chicken and a Thai Tea. The rice is usually spicy enough without adding additional sauce that comes on the side, but go nuts if you feel like it. I happened to just barely make it before the lunch specials were over. Everything was super cheap. When the food came, I realized why... portions were super small :( but I guess the price reflect the amount of food you get. I got the panang curry with chicken but there was very little chicken.... no egg roll either. Instead you get a cheese wonton which I was not a fan of. Since I was still super hungry, I got the sticky rice with coconut ice cream. This was such a good combo but the ice cream had a lot of freezer burn. Overall, this was an average place. read more

This little mom n pop restaurant is located off Harbor and McFadden -- hidden behind a McDonald's. The restaurant is tiny, with about 7 tables. I needed a place not too far from downtown Santa Ana, and this place is about 10 minutes away. Thanks to Yelp, I was able to view the menu and noticed they had a lunch special. So I called my order in, and asked what the difference was between the Pad Thai lunch special ($6.95) versus the a la carte version for $7.95. The difference was portion (of course) and the lunch special had a salad and rice. Considering I was have a carb filled noodle lunch, I decided to pay a buck more and go for the a la carte. The man said it'll be ready in 10 minutes, and hung up. I arrived 15 minutes later, and it was ready for pick up. The box was heavy! I added a Thai Iced Tea to go, and my bill came to $11 and change. While I was getting my money out, the man went to fill my iced tea... I wish I saw how much ice he gave me, because it was 99% ice. Hence, the 4 stars for not being generous with the tea, as they were with the Pad Thai. I gave the guy $13, with the balance as a small tip. When I got to my office, I was very surprised at the quantity of the food. I had enough for 2 or 3 meals. I offered some to my coworker, and still had a tub of food leftover. Many Thai places serve their Pad Thai with just a faint orange ting. I've always like my food with lots of color, and this place did the job. As one Yelper said, your food really does look like the photo. The bright orange noodles was nice and chewy, and very flavorful. Plenty of chicken, but not a lot of egg or sprouts. Ordered via Uber Eats this past Sunday - Drunken Noodles w/mixed veggies ($7.95) and small Tom Yum Soup w/shrimp ($7.95) My go to noodle place (Wok-In) are closed on Sundays. I've never had Thai Way before but I will definitely be back to try the pad see ew! To go packaging: Approved! The container for both the noodles and soup were durable. I was so surprised how hot the noodles and soup were even though it took about 25 min from pick up to delivery. Drunken noodles: Spicy but good! Although I wished the portions were bigger. The mixed veggies were cooked perfectly and the lettuce was still crispy even after being in the container for over 25 min! It was tasty, although I did add some soy sauce to the noodles - not sure if I needed the extra flavor because I was hungover. Tom Yum Soup: It was an extra $2 for 3 pieces of shrimp. This would ordinarily get 4 stars but in Covid times, it gets 5-stars. Why? I have tried almost every Thai restaurant within a 3 mile radius. This is the one place that still serves up fresh, really tasty, consistent food and the noodles still have vegetables in it.The quality is better than most in the area, if not the entire area. We order the pad see ew, drunken noodles, panang curry, won ton soup and mango and sticky rice. Most Thai places give you an abundance of the greasy, oily noodle with little bits of cheap protein. Here, the portions are smaller, however it's not oily, has more veggies in it and the chicken and beef quality is definitely better. Given the crappy quality of neighboring Thai places I am A-OK sacrificing quantity for quality. The panang curry is always a favorite and had a nice little kick. Tonight we ordered the mango and sticky rice and was pleasantly surprised that we received a freshly cut whole mango with the sticky rice. It was honestly wonderful. I know restaurants are struggling but the prices here are still reasonable and I feel like I get a decent meal when I have a hankering for Thai food.
