Before I even tell you about the food here, let me tell you about ordering takeout here. My father is Thai and spoke to them in local language for our order-good start if they speak right? 25-30 mins was our wait estimate. Went in 20 mins after the order and what time was our order ready? 1 HOUR later..that's right we waited at the restaurant LITERALLY ONE HOUR for our food. THE ORDER WAS 6:56 pm and we got it at 8:16PM. Now the food if you can call it that. Green curry was NOT green first of all. My beef was not existent and the curry is more like a liquid soup. Pad Thai is a disgrace to the name the sauce and noodles are all wrong. The chicken satay was soggy. The so called peanut sauce is such a shame. To top it all off, there was a STRAND OF HAIR IN MY CURRY! THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE. Now I know I've got probably high standards being Thai and Iiving in Cali now where we are spoiled with good Thai food but THIS IS NOT THAI FOOD OR THAI SERVICE!!! We will NEVER come here again. Vegan options are great and plentiful. Definitely don't leave without ordering the mango sticky rice or the banana dessert. The servers are always helpful, quick, and timely. Only thing i've noticed is the styrofoam to go boxes start to melt from the heat of the food. Would love to see a change in to go boxes. Otherwise very happy! read more

My fiancé and I just moved to the area and were looking for a good Thai place. We stumbled on this little gem and are so happy we did. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't let that fool you! They had the best steamed dumplings we've ever had, and we were extremely satisfied with our soups and entrees. I ordered Chicken Pad Thai and veggie egg rolls. I was very disappointed in the Chicken Pad Thai. It had very little sauce and the chicken had no taste. I've been going to this location for over 10 years and I love this place. But recently their quality and portion size doesn't compare to other Thai restaurants in the area. You literally 4 pieces of that by chicken in lunch entrees. You can ask for extra meat but I wouldn't recommend it because they charge $2.00 and gave you maybe 3 or 4 more thinly piece of meat. Returning from a day at the beach and in the mood for more heat we decided on an early dinner at Thai Town. The exterior was nondescript but the interior was a world unto its own; statues, intricate elephant carvings, tapestries and faux tusks encircling an alter. Our host/waiter/likely owner greeted us warmly and ushered us to a quiet table. My SO ordered the special; curry with shrimp, pumpkin, vegetables and slivered almonds. I opted for the panang curry (Thai hot) with tofu. It took 20 minutes from the time we walked through the door to the time our entrées were brought out. The chef did a great job actually making the dish hot and spicy unlike most places which cater to a bland American palate. Even though the dish was swimming in peppers I could still taste individual spices and you didn't lose the divine sweetness of the coconut milk. Flavorful, filling and flaming hot I enjoyed every bite. My only complaint is that the rice was overcooked. read more

Overdue for a review on this sweet little spot. Great value for excellent, fresh Thai food. Easily on par with the quality of much snootier places in St. Pete. Their lunch specials are a perfect size, with tasty soup and a mini spring roll; with drinks, two can get out of there for $20 or less. The portions are just the right size, so you don't hate yourself afterwards, and just get comfortably full. My favorite dishes are anything with the Amazing Peanut sauce or the Panang Curry. Pork dumplings are a standout. My only complaint is that it's a little warm in the summertime with an air conditioner struggling to work overtime. Another fun fact about Thai Town: there's a hilarious painting of an aristocratic looking uptight cat wearing an ASCOT in the ladies room. An ASCOT. I've been coming here for the past 8 years sporadically. It's very consistent and the food is decent. It's a small intimate restaurant. Service has always been good as well. But I am a little sad that while we were there tonight maybe every couple of minutes I could hear a microwave go off and the door being shut, very distinct sound. In a run down looking strip mall but walk inside to find a intimate, warm decor traditionally decorated restaurant. We were greeted upon arrival and promptly seated. The menu and the daily special list were on the table. Each offered a nice variety and moderate prices. The Thai Sampler appetizer was incredible. I have eaten a lot of Thai food in my life. I really like this little place because of the kind servers, decor and wide food selection. You wouldn't expect how cute it is from the outside. Problem is that I only had one thing, the Pad Thai and it wasn't very good tasting. I would have to say the food was just ok. How can an order of chicken cashew not include cashews??? Why must I ask for everything - I asked for drinks, asked for refills, asked for the check - you get my drift! The service was horrendous. The tables are also VERY uncomfortable for 3 or 4 people - very tight & the table bases, while attractive as they have a carved base are not comfortable for people to put their feet comfortably under it. The food, however, was very good & the spice level was on point. So I decided that some Thai food was in order and decided to try out this restaurant. I ordered the F1 Thai fried rice with duck and shrimp medium temperature. The rice has a really good flavor to it and even though I said no scallions and they're still on there I can let it slide. The duck is a major letdown. It's severely overcooked and dry. See picture. Other than that the rice is pretty good I probably will return because the general taste is what I was looking for. But probably won't order the duck. Quack! read more

Thai Town is our go to for Thai food in Dunedin. The service is super fast and always thoughtful. Their restaurant is very clean and welcoming. While we haven't tried a great variety of the dishes we are never disappointed. They have BOGO's every now and then which is pretty neat from a small independent. Been around the area to many Thai restaurants over the past year. Thai Town is good but it isn't the best we have had in the area. It is authentic. The spices and ingredients they use always seem very fresh. I love that it is so close to our home which is why we continue to frequent it as often as we do. I am a curry lover. Theirs is very good. However, when I ordered it 'thai hot' the last several times it seems as if they have american'ed it down to their version of what they think I can handle. I love spicy. And I am sure to tell them so that they will spice is correctly but unfortunately it hasn't been spicy the last few times. Bummer for me. The spice is a wonderful offset to the freshness of the veggies and herbs they use. They offer a coupon for half off a lunch and half off a dinner when you buy another one with it. So, that saves a little especially during supper hours. Lunch portions are smaller but they come with soup and a spring roll. Dinner portions are larger but not come with the soup and spring roll. The restaurant is nicely decorated. Sure, it's in a strip mall but you don't know it once you are inside. Staff have always been very nice. They offer a dining loyalty card. Buy 10 and get 1 free. Short story - the food is good, fresh and always prepared immediately for you. Only improvement I would offer is spicing it up especially for your loyal customers. read more
