And here I am. Ubered out to Bangkok Restaurant in Amarillo in the sketchiest of all places in town, but damn ..is the food here AUTHENTIC! I've quite honestly haven't seen a Thai dine in menu so complete. In fact this is probably the first Thai restaurant having lived in Los Angeles all these years, that I've ever seen Frog-Lef Kra Pao or Pad Poo Karee (Crab Curry). And without further a do, I ordered 河粉 He Fen (Pad See Ew), to signify Peace and Longevity, I ordered Basil Frog Legs to signify Safety & Peace on return with possible fortunes on the way, I ordered catfish red curry and fish cakes to signify 年年有餘（魚）Nian Nian Yo Yu, Every year will be full of abundance, and I had the Tom Kha, and Sticky Rice Coconut Ice Cream + a Thai Ice Tea. 5 dishes in. Total signifying 五福 Five Fortunes of Good Luck. So enough about CNY, every dish I sampled here was 8.5/10. I did not dislike anything. This was almost like walking into my parents Thai Chinese Friends home as a kid and they cooked comfort food that didn't taste like commercialized Thai food. The fish filets for the cat fish were clean treated, boneless and paired well with the peas prik king similar sauce, the Kra Pao Holy Basil Frog Legs was very similar to Two Chilli Szechuan Stir Fried Frog Legs, and were too also very good. And the Padsee Ew although I liked it, it was very different, served and presented like Pad Thai with stripped cabbage and bean sprouts and even a very thin layer of egg....never seen it served like this before. And lastly the sticky rice. Just get it. A great way to finish the meal. Having come out here without my rig this first time around, I believe next time I'm just going to drive my full rig into their dirt lot. Cheers. ***Entire family including the White guy makes you feel at home**** Coming back for the Crab Curry next episode.

It was a cold blustery day so I wanted Pho and I asked for a recommendation, whether beef or chicken she recommended the beef. My partner had Kung Pao. They do both traditional Thai and Chinese at this location. Our food was served very quickly. I tasted my broth and immediately could taste the rich flavors of an all day long broth that had been cooking. It was fabulous! It was served with bean sprouts, and Thai basil in the soup was green scallions any large helping of the heavier noodles, which were deliciously chewy. I got to sample the Kung Pao. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the vegetables were cooked. Just right. The sauce was a thinner sauce, but was loaded with flavor lots of peanuts in this one.! you had a choice of steamed rice or fried rice with this menu item. The steamed rice came out in a large bowl and it was great to put into the sauce afterwards there was a lot of extra sauce.. The restaurant had a lot of to go orders being picked up while we were there so it did a lot of lunch business to go. But there was one other group dining. There is a TV in one part of the dining area and there was contemporary music which was not too loud and actually very nice to enjoy the meal with. I would highly recommend this and will stop here again.

They didn't include any paper plates or cutlery, which is weird, knowing that we were at a hotel and there was no place to put that in the order. We ordered Pad Thai with seafood and that was questionable. There were a couple of shrimp but these other things that were in there looked like crab wannabes and they were actually bread, noodles, or something else you couldn't recognize but totally mushy. Definitely no seafood. Then, the wonton soup's wontons were totally underdone...just some blobs of dough and pretty disgusting. Also, no sauces for the egg rolls (did get a couple of sweet & sours, but no hot mustard) The icing on the cake was that the DoorDash delivery person left it at the wrong hotel right next to ours but my husband had to walk 1/2 mile around all of the barriers to try to find the same room number at a different hotel. I tried to call her over and over again at the number they provided but it wouldn't go through. I will never do this again!

In fact, for me, the highlight of the dinner. B ordered chicken and broccoli. He enjoyed it. My Mongolian beef was ok, but very different from "that national Chinese chain". The fried rice was good, the beef was gray w little kick. The kick, however, was provided by large jalapeno pepper halves, some w seeds. Not sure when my jaw will recover, but am praying. There were lots of dust on all the banisters and handrails, the table(when we sat down) was covered in some kind of sticky residue, that took the waitress 5 minutes to clean, and it had a pungent fish smell(which was weird, because they did not have seafood(of any kind) at that time due to Covid-19.
