Huge buffet lines and the food seemed fresh this evening when I arrived at 6:30 pm. Quite busy with lots of folks which meant the food turned over and was replaced often. I was here for over an hour, slowly eating lo mein, beef & broccoli, baked seafood, sushi and more. One complaint was that the queue to get ice cream was super slow. Lots of folks who dawdle and don't understand the idea here. The buffet was clean and the young lady serving my area stopped by often. Dinner price starts at 3:30 pm. I can't have diary or egg and when I asked the waitress if they had an allergen menu she said no and took me to the guy in the front. When I asked the man if he knew what had diary/egg since I couldn't eat it he repeated "no egg?" twice. After I confirmed twice I couldn't have egg he laughed in my face. He did end up taking me through the buffet line pointing out what had egg or diary so I could avoid it but I felt he could have gone about it in a kinder way. He was also very rude to the waitresses, I felt bad for them. As an aside, the sinks in the bathroom were like little power washers- the water pressure was so high the water splashes all over you. read more

The door staff is always rude. the cashier doesnt count your money back and is always frowning. the hostess alexis with the tatoo neck is always frowning also. she took us without asking us where we like to sit. i told her we want a booth. then she rolled her eye and frown. and told me to find a booth myself. the food is good but they will lose alot of business due to rude workers. read more

Stopped in for lunch on a very long day of driving, and all 3 of us were very satisfied with the food. Very wide range of selections, all done quite well. The chicken in all of the varieties we tried was very tender, juicy, and flavorful. We did get the impression that they deal with a lot of people who try to take advantage of them, as there were signs posted warning that no food could be taken off-site (really? Who even does that?). Their prices were higher than expected, and the cashier made no mention of the senior discount (I happened to see it on a small sign at the register just after she ran the charge on our card) which would have saved us a few dollars. I'm looking at the reviews of this restaurant and I'm very surprised! I'm very critical and thorough when it comes to reviewing a particular restaurant. I travel ALOT, so I decided to check out this buffet. It was only a short walk from the hotel I was staying at. When people tell you that everything is bigger in Texas, BELIEVE THEM! This place is HUGE! I really liked this buffet and the sushi bar. Not to many patrons for dinner. Maybe because the day of week? If I'm ever in TX, I will definitely visit this buffet again! Used to go here as a cheaper alternative, cuz one of my friends is super tall and can put away quite a bit, so this helped with paying cause it was all you can eat. Service was ok, nothing to write home about. My issue comes when we are eating. I start in on my plate, take a big ole spoonful of food and... hair. For the record, my friends and I all had short hair at the time and are all of the colorful hair persuasion. The hair I PULLED OUT OF MY MOUTH was long and black. I called the manager over, and all he said was I'm sorry that happened and gave me a 10% discount for NEXT TIME. I'm sorry, if I find a hair in my food, and you shrug it off, i won't be coming back. It's disgusting, and even worse when the staff doesn't care. I work in the food industry, I understand that accidents happen. But there are preventative measures that can be taken, and a lot of better ways to handle those situations than an 'oops, my bad'. read more

The food was cold and had been on the steam table too long. They have a grill where you can have food made just before you eat it. That is probably good so I am giving them three stars. This is the worse Chinese buffet I've ever had. If i could give this place zero stars I would. The food was tasteless. I came with my family. I took one bite of everything I had on my plate and everything was horrible. I lost my appetite. Finally got the waitress attention and told her that I didn't enjoy the food and if we can get a refund for my meal. She point and said we had to talk to a man about it. This man I believe was her was the manger. She went to talk to him. He came to our table and we stated again that I didn't like the food and if we could get a refund. He said since the rest of my family been here eating for more than 30 mins that I can't get a refund bc we didn't tell him right away. He then began to say that once i took a bite and then came to him immediately telling him i didn't like the food then we would've received a refund. My plate still had food on it. It wasn't like I ate everything and then decided I didn't like the food. You could easily tell just by looking at my plate that I didn't eat. Lin's Grand Buffet is a Chinese Buffet that has several locations in different Texas cities such as San Angelo, Lubbock, Brownsville, Laredo, McAllen, and of course here in Amarillo. It's not a great example of what Chinese food should taste like, but it's not supposed to. Look, it is what it is. A Chinese buffet that has at least 50 different dishes, a hibachi grill, and a sushi bar. Although the sushi is inedible and should be avoided like the plague, the hibachi bar isn't all that bad. It is, however, very slow. There's usually a line and if you're about 8 people back, expect to wait about 20 minutes for your turn to get your stuff cooked. The rest of the cuisine is pretty standard as far as buffets go. It's not authentic, and I think I like it that way. Sesame chicken, crab rangoons, pepper steak - Sometimes even us Chinese people feel like eating "fake" Chinese food that's been prepared by an entire cook staff of Mexicans. I also like that there's nachos, enchiladas, pizza, and french fries. Nothing says "chinese" like french fries with your fried rice! You get all this for about $7/person for lunch and $10/person for dinner. There's a lot of seating, so this is ideal for large groups. You don't have to worry about the server getting your orders right or charging you correctly because it's all self serve. This is probably the most extensive sushi and Grill buffet that my husband and I have ever been to. We are on the road a lot. We like the variety and it's a welcome change. This restaurant is located on what is the frontage road of I 40 in Amarillo Texas and there are a lot of other restaurants on the strip. Logan's, famous Dave's, steak houses to name a few. Two words for this place...very mediocre! The food was way too sweet and oily even by Chinese buffet place standards. I told their "Mongolian chef" not to overcook the beef but he did anyway. Out of all the dishes served, I would only give the beef brisket a passing grade. I only got one serving of food (plus Mongolian beef and veggies to share with my wife) but couldn't even finish it as I was nauseated by the oiliness and sweetness. Just your average chinese buffet. Some star dishes they had: the jalapeno shrimp, brisket, and shrimp & vegetables are worth going for. They also have tubs of blue bell ice cream that you scoop yourself with 8 different flavors- a nice change of pace from the typical watered-down vanilla-chocolate-twist soft serve that are found at most buffets. We're visiting from out of state and decided to check out this place since we were tired of eating at so many different steak houses. Buffet was very affordable. Good meal options. Some of the food trays were empty but we also went at a busy hour. Our waitress was very friendly and tended to our needs. Not the best Chinese buffet but it's definitely not the worst. New to Amarillo and this is the first place I went to. I liked that there was the option of Mongolian BBQ, sushi and three or four rows of a variety of things.
