This is a quick to the point review: THIS IS THE BEST CHINESE BUFFET IN AMARILLO TEXAS!!! -The buffet selection is very large. -The sushi bar only has about 4 selections and is not really all that great. I'm not sure if they should advertise it on their sign outside. -The hibachi grill is definitely something to look forward to, but only if you have you are willing to wait about a half an hour to get served. -The waiters are very attentive and check on you regularly. -Their parking lot is very small and very crowded. This is the worst dining experience I have ever had in Amarillo. Save your money. The food was lukewarm at best. In some instances the food was cold. The flavor was bland. The outside looks new, the inside looks nice, the service is awesome, but the food needs improvement. I tried a spoonful of everything the buffet had to offer and actually spit stuff out into a napkin a couple of times for fear that the horrible taste foreshadowed the damage it would do to my gastrointestinal tract. Do NOT eat the seafood. The salmon tasted like powder. How do you even do that? It was almost impressive in a weird way. The chicken and beef dishes were pretty okay. One of those hit or miss places, sometimes the food is pretty good and other times it's quite salty and on the cold side. They have a sushi area, but there's basically only two options haha. There's a hibachi grill in the back but the line for it is always super long so that's a shame, you'll be waiting for at least 20 minutes! The ice cream selection is terrible, and very dirty so not that great for the youngsters who want it as a dessert. read more

As far as Chinese buffets go- its alright. The food is hotter than normal, but don't expect anything spectacular on the taste, its just like normal chinese buffets. When you are rating buffets, you have to use a different scale than haute cuisine. This buffet is consistent, offers a wide selection of food, has sushi and Mongolian BBQ, and is good value for the money. Isn't that what you want in a buffet? This place is beyond terrible! DO NOT GO!!!! I wasn't expecting a 5 star restaurant from a buffet, but I wasn't expecting it to be as bad as it was. We barely sat down to eat, and my husband took a big bite of fried rice. Instead, he got a big piece of plastic. When the manager came over to take his plate, he said it wasn't the first time it's happened. And he thought it was from when the cooks cut open the packaged meat. Oh, yes that's comforting! Plastic from raw meat in our rice!!!! To make it worse, he would only refund half of our bill (because you pay before you eat like most buffets) when he obviously knew they had this major problem. We left upset and hungry, but too sick to our stomachs from such a horrible experience to eat the rest of the night! read more

The food sucked, they didn't have orange chicken, very limited choice selections overall, egg roll had a funny smell and contents look like a turd. Corn nuggets were under cooked. I was so disappointd in most of their food. I used to come here regularly from the day they opened until I moved in 2009. It used to be good. I went a couple of days ago and it was not good at all. There were a few people with me who had also not been for a while and they were all very disappointed as well. The food was generally tasteless and of very poor quality. For Amarillo, I think this place is relatively decent, or in Yelp's words "A-OK." Strictly speaking about the atmosphere, it was well decorated, spacious, and the buffet line was kept clean and fully stocked. Being clean is already a huge plus. Our server was attentive and we were never left with our cups half empty. I'd recommend perusing the steam-line before you dive into eating. There's a hibachi grill in the back and that was probably the best part of the whole buffet. Everything was greasy but that's expected when you go to a buffet. I really enjoyed the hibachi grill at the back and ordered about 3 or 4 pieces of steak medium rare. I ordered my first piece as medium and it was too tough, so medium rare was perfect. The steaks are thin but hey, it's steak. I will agree with other reviewers that the sushi selection was awful. They should just take out the sushi section altogether imo. I've never seen raw salmon the color of a carrot before. It was just THAT orange. To me, that's unnatural and I stayed away from it. The only sushi I ate was the cooked stuff like a California roll which was wrapped with a lot of rice and very little filling... just stick with the hibachi. The cold boiled shrimp and the whole pieces of baked salmon were two of my go-to dishes. It could've been because I have been so deprived of good seafood while living in New Mexico that the seafood here was totally satisfying, but in actuality, it tasted pretty good with a spritz of lemon juice. The broccoli beef and mushroom chicken were good as well. For dessert, I'd highly recommend their cream puffs. I only had room for one but wanted to go back for more, luckily for my waistline, I was too full. Overall this place is clean, there's lots of selection and is overall a decent Asian buffet for Amarillo. For the amount of food you can eat and for the price of $10-$11 per person for dinner, Lin's really can't be beat. read more
