Ornery service when we each asked for hot sauce. They didn't have any more, he said. My partner asked for Thai hot. They should have told him they didn't have the spices when he ordered! We've been coming here for three years for the flavor and heat. Then our granddaughter ordered pad Thai from them. She said it wasn't sweet at all; just didn't taste right. You can taste the ketchup in the Pad Thai, which I only ordered because they told me it was their best dish. They stir-fried it so fast, the sickly sweet sauce was dripping off what should be a dry noodle dish. Worst of all, they served it to me with no lime. First they told me it was already in the box. When I came back to show that it wasn't, they admitted they were out. And I know...it's my fault for ordering Pad Thai, a dish which isn't actually authentic to Thai cuisine and is frequently bungled the world over. But I never imagined they would recommend a dish for which they were lacking a key ingredient. They made me a Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodle) as a replacement. It was bland. No wok hei, and the only vegetable (other than bean sprouts, oddly) was bell pepper. I returned once more to doctor it up with some sambal, which at least improved the flavor. Neither of the two workers who saw me return a second time asked what I thought of the food; whatever was on their phones was more interesting. read more

I've been coming to the Happy Valley food courts since they opened and have always enjoyed supporting the local vendors. Unfortunately, I had a really disappointing experience at Thai Sunflowers. I recently injured my hand and kindly asked the staff member if they could place my to go food into a bag for me. He flat-out told me to do it myself. I was shocked by the lack of basic courtesy and empathy. I won't be returning. We all work hard for our money, and when we choose to spend it at your establishment, the least we expect is respectful customer service. I would like to update that I ended up getting sick from the food unfortunately. read more

This place has a nice clear, clean appeal and has reasonable pricing. I ordered the green mango salad $10, with a spicy lime vinegrete. They were fast with my order and presented it in a nice box but when I opened it it was 1/2 full of chunks of raw, plain, dry cabbage and a small portion of the actual salad with dressing. The salad was good but the dry cabbage was useless and I asked for more dressing and they refused my request. I felt like they just wanted me to take my food and leave. My order was taken promptly and at my request, of requesting a level of Heat, they did not disappoint. Food is edible. Servive was helpful and friendly. This "Americanized" food cart is not authentic thai food. I was looking to get some delicious and nourishing wonton soup. This is traditionally made with a fatty chicken stock as the liquid base. I was informed by staff that the wonton soup they serve is simply seasoned water and not a prepared broth or stock. I went with the pumpkin curry with shrimp. It was a small portion (they only serve one size) [looks like 6-8 shrimp + 1/4-1/2 red and green bell peppers + 1/4-1/3 acorn squash (not pumpkin) + small sprigs of greeen leaves (Lime leaves? + roughly 1 cup soup base with 2 cups white rice.] It was edible and will replace calories I have consumed today, but its not a very fun or tasty meal (Key authentic flavors are missing like Coconut). The meal was 16$. If you are looking for empty calories to consume, I can recommend this place to eat. If you are looking for food that gives you real nutrition and and makes you and your body feel good or you are looking for a good value meal, I cannot recommend this place and would suggest you look somewhere else for "real food". read more

Placed an order on phone saying will pick up; then 5 min later I called again notifying and reassuring I'll be late due to heavy traffic from NW Beaverton to HV (based on GPS estimate arrival time). Food is ok but sometimes not consistent. What really makes me not recommend this place is how rude some staff is. The man is always so rude and dismissive, and overall makes us not feel welcome at all. We've been here often, maybe he knows we'll come back so he doesn't care how rude he is, but I'm tired of always being treated like I'm a nuisance when I'm a paying customer. I would like to add that we've never complained to them about the food, brought stuff back, been rude to them or anything like that. I decided to try this food cart out after hearing some raving reviews about their pad thai. The pad thai itself was pretty tasty as much as could be expected - I added chili flakes to mine because a medium didn't have enough of a spicy kick to me. I also had a chance to try the pad see ew and that seemed a little more flavorful. The portions they serve are huge for what you're paying and can easily feed 2-3 meals. Overall, this was a good experience with friendly, fast service and satsfying Thai food. read more

Vegans and seafood allergic folks beware. Plus one star for existing, and another because the food is BEAUTIFUL. And they offer coconut milk for beverages! On the phone, however, when asked if any of their curries were vegan, I was told they could be made so using tofu or just veggies -- but the long pause in turn gave me pause, and rightfully so: upon arrival, large containers of Mae Ploy curry pastes were plainly visible, and those (excepting their Yellow paste) contain shrimp paste. Minus ten billion stars for not being aware of something that could kill someone with a shrimp allergy, and for feeding shrimp to vegans. Still, the Pad See Ew I ordered was handled nicely. They offered a no-egg, no-oyster-sauce option. And it was BEAUTIFUL. I've rarely seen its equal! The veggies were cooked perfectly, though the noodles suffered some not-quite-hot-enough gumminess, but it seems Americans don't mind this enough because it's common at carts that get good reviews. Unfortunately, the flavor was non-existent. Not "subtle", not "lacking": this tasted like a rinsed wok. It's clear that the oyster sauce is the only flavor in this dish, as there was NO salt whatsoever -- and this in a dish based on dark soy sauce! If you're going to deliver essentially a wet towel (with beautiful veggies!), WARN the customer. And if you're going to serve -any- customers, you MUST at least know what allergens are within. My friend who eats animals says this place is good. I hope one day to agree. read more

I really don't love leaving a negative review but I was so disappointed by my meal here I felt obliged to say something. I ordered a Tom Kha soup from here last night for dinner. I do not eat rice and dairy and generally Thai coconut soup is a great & Safe choice for me. I requested a "medium" spice level. When I received my order, the soup was so incredibly spicy that I could not comfortably sip the soup or eat its contents. It also tasted a little off to me. I went to the cart to ask if they could please add some coconut milk or coconut cream to my soup so that it would dilute the extremely spicy flavor. The woman shook her head and said she "didn't have coconut cream or coconut milk". Flabbergasted, I said, "well how did you make the Tom Kha soup, then?" She told me she uses half and half milk from dairy cows! I have never before been to a Thai restaurant (here or in Thailand!) that uses dairy milk for their Tom Kha soup. I asked, " is this how you make it all the time"? She replied, "yes, this is always how we make our Tom Kha soup". THEN she proceeded to pull out a half gallon of Dairigold brand 1/2 and 1/2 and poured it into my soup container. I was shocked that classic Thai dish that classically always contains coconut milk as the base of the soup was made with good old fashion Half and half from dairy cows. It made me think that even their curries may not be made with coconut milk either, especially if she did not have any coconut milk or coconut cream upon my request?!. Major disappointment, and not mentioned anywhere on their menu. Vegan and lactose intolerant consumers beware! I hope their noodles and rice are as good as the fellow reviews have mentioned, I will never come here for Curry or Tom Kha soup again. read more

I ordered my 5 and 4 year old sons Pad Thai. They usually love it. I obviously told them not spicy. She made it extra spicy- probably a miscommunication error but she would not fix the problem for my kids and remake it, so pretty much just gave it back to her and threw $14 down the drain. Mistakes happen, but we didn't/couldn't even eat it. At least fix the problem and remake the dish for my children. Poor customer service. I definitely recommend this Thai cart when you're in the Happy Valley/Clackamas area! We ordered Postmates from here for late lunch/early dinner. I knew the reviews were mixed, but we wanted to give them a chance. Did not disappoint! We loved everything! It was super hot and fresh when it arrived, too. Pad thai was the best I've had in the city. Salad rolls were great (they weren't on the Postmates menu, but we ordered the egg rolls and left a note asking them if they could send salad rolls, they did!). The larb and papaya salad were super tasty, and the fried rice delicious! Don't know what all the poor reviews were about, this is our new favorite thai place!! Honestly a hidden gem in happy valley! Everything I've had from this cart has been good! They give you large portions for an amazing price. I've gotten their basil fried rice and it was large enough to eat 3 full meals with. Their staff are really friendly and always ask your preferred spice level. Some of my favorite dishes are the tom yum, garlic beef, cashew chicken, yellow curry, basil fried rice, pad Thai, and of course their mango sticky rice. I probably frequent this cart too much but it always hits the spot. read more
