Pad See Ew
Sarah C.

I came to the Sellwood Corner Food Carts looking to go to a different cart, but when they were closed, I popped over to Pinto Thai Kitchen. What a lovely unexpected meal! Friendly service, a quick cook time, and a delicious result. I got the green curry and the pad see ew. I requested it spicy and, boy, did they deliver! If you are sensitive to spice, consider downgrading a level or two. Many folks were ordering just their Thai iced tea which makes me think it's good and I wish I had tried it too. Maybe next time - I would definitely eat here again and recommend it to others as well!

I've been to this great food pod many times but this was my first time going to Thida's. The pod has 7 food trucks, covered seating and all are well maintained. I ordered online which was convenient and easy to navigate. I arrived and the food was ready on time. The woman who assisted me was friendly and helpful. We got our food and headed home. We ordered the Potstickers, Spring Rolls, Pad See Ew with beef, Pad Khing with shrimp, Pineapple Fried Rice with chicken, House Curry with chicken and the Crispy garlic chicken. The potstickers were good but the spring rolls were great. They had a great crisp to them and wonderful flavor. The noodles in the pad see ew were spot on and beef was good. The pad khing had ample veggies and shrimp, very good. The pineapple fried rice was really tasty and no skimping on veggies, pineapple and chicken. The house curry was amazing! Great taste but not a lot of veg or chicken. The crispy garlic chicken was also amazing! The outside was SO crispy and the chicken perfectly juicy. The food was all very good and equal (or better in some cases) to all of the brick and mortar Thai restaurants in the area. We'll be back

Wonderful thai food cart in the area! Menu is pretty expansive across apps, noodles, soups, rices, and curries. Portion sizes were a good size for the price point. Really enjoyed the pad see ew and thai fried rice. The pad see ew noodles were flavored well and the thai fried rice had a nice kick with the peppers. The cart shares a small spot with other food carts so not many tables around for larger groups.

Variety of Thai dishes from Thida Thai Kitchen

We were in the Sellwood neighborhood and came across this Thai food cart: Thida Thai Kitchen. As big fans of Thai food, we decided to order some of their cuisine for dinner. The lovely lady behind the counter window was very friendly and she efficiently took our order. We ordered quite a bit ( 6 dishes, to be exact ). It was a feast. The house chicken curry has a nice punch over the white rice. The pad kra pow ( I hope I spell it correctly ) and the pad cashews are flavorful and spicy. Pad Thai has the right texture and delicious. The Tom Yam soup is tangy, sour, sweet, and spicy.... full of favors. My personal favorite is the crispy basil chicken, crunchy, sweet, and so tasty! We enjoyed our meal with red and white wine at home. It was heavenly! We will definitely be back to try more of their other dishes.

Pad Thai

Awesome little Thai food truck. Fast service and great for a meal after a night out. Conveniently located in a cluster of other food trucks. Far better then other comparable Thai places in Sellwood.

Just an absolute hidden gem here in Portland. Stopped by on a whim and their pad Thai, curries, and rice dishes are top notch.

The sauce they use with the chicken and rice is great and is worth buying to take home to make your own dishes better. There is a good amount of seating both inside and out. I also tried the pork which was good but I prefer the chicken so will stick to that on a future visit. I have tried a lot of places that do the same thai style chicken and rice and it's almost always a miss for me, something is always off, usually the chicken is touch, or too dry, or lacking flavor but here it just hits right.

We had to wait a bit for a spot to open up but soon were able to sit with a high chair (located in the middle near the entrance). We got our number after ordering and food quickly came out after our wait to sit. We got Khao Man Gai Piset (with liver), Khao Kha Muu and chicken skins. The kids ate so much and the hainanese chicken was a kid friendly favorite! We really enjoyed the Khao Kha Muu which was similar to an adobo with yummy pickled mustard greens. The meat was tender and marinated so well. The liver is always enjoyable by me and everyone ate the skins which were so crispy! The 2 meals were large and fed all of us well. Please remember to bus your own table!

Service was efficient on a weekday for lunch. I was very impressed that the woman serving us also cooks. She said she has one other person helping her over the weekend. The food was SO DELICIOUS. This was the best pad Thai we had with such depth of flavor - not too sweet or oily, just perfect. We also had the pad kra pao, eggplant and tom kha. The tom kha had good flavor and with a thinner broth that I'm used to which was fabulous. The eggplant was so delicious - the consistency was incredible. Not too soggy, just right. I also tried the mango sticky rice. For drinks we had the Thai lemon tea which tasted like Thai iced tea without the milk and lemon added - delightful! We even bought an extra dish to take with us to go. Amazing place. Ambiance is casual. I can't wait to return.

It is, in a word, perfect. I can only imagine what their other offerings taste like, but I myself may never know because the Green Curry is just that good. Add in excellent and attentive service and a very Portlandesque atmosphere and Paadee is a definite winner. Easily one of the best Thai restaurants in the city. If I were to pick one thing to gripe about it's that it's so good that sometimes seating isn't available, but good for them. Get it to go instead if that happens.
