As a regular at this place, I can honestly say this is my favorite restaurant. The food is excellent, colorful, delicious, and cooked to perfection. I love that they have a whole section of the menu dedicated to stir fry, which I feel like I rarely see at Thai places. And on top of the food being delicious, the decor is SO FUN. Honestly, I bring people here just so we can admire the plants, superhero posters, funky light fixtures, and unique paint choices. The rice box was half full, I received zero potatoes and in addition to the normal vegs that come in the pumpkin curry, I found one green bean that tasted raw. That place is too cold. Air conditioning is blowing full blast, making our food cold before we could get a 2nd serving on the tiny plates they give you to have dinner on. This is the 3rd time we have been in there in 3 weeks but if it is cold the next time it will be our last. The pot stickers are over cooked, almost hard. The Singapore Noodles were our favorite dish the first time, still good the 2nd, but just oversalty this time. The garlic stirfly salmon, asked to be Thai hot, was just a dried out over cooked slab of fish, not hot at all. Maybe it's just a different cook but what a disappointment. This place has phenomenal food. I came here for lunch with my dad and he said that he loves coming here because they have some of the best thai food that he's ever had. We ordered the spring rolls, tom kha, and the drunken yakisoba. I didn't love the yakisoba, but everything else was exquisite. I think their tom kha is some of the best I have ever had, and I have had a LOT of tom kha soup in my lifetime! I can't wait to come back and try other things on the menu. We've been dating a while now so he can handle that Thai spice hah. I got the beef noodle soup. The whole thing was enormous for their lunch side. She even brought me a spice rack so I could make it my own. Which is true Thai tradition. I loaded it up with some vinegar and jalapeños with a ton of chili oil and chilis in addition to the garlic chili sauce. Literally a thin layer was on top of my soup. The broth was perfect after that. I gave my bf a sip and he was impressed. He said it took him back to when we were in Thailand and sitting in a 100 year old house on the river bank and we ate the same kind of boat noodle soup. Really this place is perfect. This cozy restaurant feels like a hidden gem among the sea of food that is Portland. The atmosphere is fun and fresh, menu's are well designed and the food tastes great. There's a certain balance between spice and flavor in Thai food that's hard to find. I found that balance here. The service is fantastic and the waitress that served us was an absolute gem. Very friendly, attentive and thoughtful. The only negative thing to say about this place is the portion sizes could be considered small by some. A few days ago we ordered pick up and I wanted to wait a few days before putting in a review. We live close to the restaurant and have only been here a few times in the 3 years we've lived in Sellwood. Every time (except once) I've had to wait between 25 and 45 minutes for my food to be ready from when we're told. I arrive at the time the restaurant gives me and I'm told that it's being put together and should be another 5 minutes. They ring me up and I put in my tip of 20%, then I wait and wait. I ask about when it's coming out "almost there, just another minute". Wait and wait. Others are standing around in the same situation. I would like more honesty and integrity from the establishments I spend money at especially right now. The food is good, but so are the other Thai restaurants in Sellwood and the food is ready when they say it will be. I'm disappointed.
