I'll start by saying, we eat a lot of Thai food! We are new to the area so decided to give this a try. Doesn't look like much from the outside but don't let that deter you! We went on Valentine's Day and it was busy. Despite that, we sat down immediately. Our drink order was taken and promptly delivered. We ordered Spring rolls that came out in less than 3 minutes! And, they were delicious! We ordered Tom Kha soup, Pad Thai, and Pad Kee Mao. The food came out quickly and was some of the best we've had! Just the right spice, good portions, and pretty to look at! I'm in a Thai food rut. I love Thom Ka so much it's the only thing I can bring myself to order. We've been to Thai Select several times. While it's good, there always seems to be something amiss. We were seated by a hostess who asked to take our drink orders. It was confusing at first because we thought she was our server. She said she'd send the server and another staff member came to the table. We ordered Boba drinks from her and she said she'd send our server. "Oh, I thought that was you." So, the server showed up after about another 10 minutes and took our orders. Everyone was very nice and helpful, but it was confusing and took a while. The Tom Kha was very good. The Boba in the Boba drinks was the driest, hardest Boba I'd ever tasted. It was gummy, like hard licorice. She said she'd have them boil some more for us. But, it never came. She (not our server) comped the drinks, which were tasty not-Boba drinks. We had Tom Yum, spring rolls, and a chicken dish whose name I can't recall. It was good, but lacked the savory punch I prefer. So, Thai Select is good, but I prefer some other Thai places for my Thai fix. read more

This is my go to Thai spot!! I ventured off once to try something new & that was a big mistake. I came back to tried & true Thai Select. I will go nowhere else to eat Thai food again. I usually get chicken pad Thai, more recently I have tried the beef pad Thai & it is so good. The beef is so juicy & flavorful. The red curry is also a favorite of mine. You can tell this is a family owned business. Over the phone they aren't super friendly but not rude. In person they are so sweet & hospitable. When dining in my drink is never empty. This place has THE WORST customer service. I have let a couple of occasions slide but today took the cake. I decided inquire about a lunch price versus dinner price. There was a $2 difference so I decided on a dinner portion. Being that I had not paid yet there shouldn't have been a problem with making the minor change. ‍ The worker became upset and snatched the order receipt out of my hand and stormed away. This is not the first time I have been treated like this here. Another time I dined in there was a Jamaican man that came in and inquired about a job and they were rude to him and laughed at him as a group of workers/owners. Cute little place with hideous food. I ordered some things to go for my family and a friend. I spent over $50 on spring rolls, fried rice, orange chicken with brown rice, and a teriyaki chicken from the children's menu for my granddaughter. They did not give me (or ask) if I wanted soy sauce or utensils. I needed both. He gave me 2 small packets of soy sauce. I told him we needed more. After 3 trips, he finally gave me enough. I had to ask for utensils. The teriyaki chicken appeared to be from a pressed chicken loaf. I tasted it, and i imagine dog food would taste better. We fixed her a sandwich instead. The orange chicken was bland, and tough. The brown rice was the absolute worst I've ever had. My daughter was moving from Fort Worth and I'm sad that was the last local food we had! We get take out from this place a few times a month. The Tom Kha hot pot with a side of steamed rice noodles or pad Thai with veggies is my go to comfort dish. They don't always ask but you can get it spicy on a level of 1-5. They have great boba and Thai coffee drinks as well. We usually order a few appetizers also. My favorite is the green papaya salad and the spring rolls. Ambiance in the actual restaurant is pretty meh but I highly recommend the food here. Quick and easy takeout option. read more

Went to Thai select for lunch as it was touted as the best Thai in the area and I can say that I now concur. I was a fan of Blue Mint Thai previously but now I am a Thai select convert. The food was truly tasty and well presented. I had the Thai tea to cool me down from a hot Texas summer day and it did the trick. I had the chicken Panang and the wife had drunken noodles both of which was delicious. We actually started with the crab Rangoon which was cream cheese in a lightly fried crispy pocket which was also very tasty. I really enjoy Thai Select. The food, quality, and portions are great. However, lately they've been really slow on to go orders. My order has been 20+ minutes later than the estimated time more than it hasn't. Tonight our order was at 6:10, supposed to be ready at 6:30, but we finally got it at 7:10. This is at least 3 straight times this has happened. There's got to be a better way of estimating the time until it's ready. I understand staffing is an issue at times, but come on. And if it's going to be late, least staff could say is act apologetic. read more

Thai Select is a little spot in a strip mall. The inside of the restaurant has two halves, with one half only being open when they're busy. The entire staff is very friendly and they set up a quaint eating environment. The food is hot and fresh. I wish they had asked us the spice level we preferred, but luckily the spice level they gave us was tolerable (I can't handle max spicy). The Thai iced tea was exactly what I was hoping for! It was the perfect balance between the flavors of the tea and sweetness. It also helps balance the heat of the food nicely as well. So the food was good...I order the "drunken noodles" with chicken everytime I go here, SO gOOD!!! This time though the waiter asked if I wanted any additional spice and I said no because usually it already has a nice spice to it, except this time no spice! I was slightly disappointed about that. I also thought the waiter was getting over a hang over or on drugs or something was going on. He wasnt rude, but he just kept referencing alcohol starting at the time we sat at our table. As we were sitting down to enjoy our lunch there was rock and roll music playing.....and that really isnt a big deal, but on a beautiful saturday afternoon in fall I feel as if maybe some music without words or some relaxing music could have made a big difference to the vibe in this place. Thai Select used to be mine & my husband's go-to place for great Thai food, but the service is horrible nowadays. They cannot keep up with orders and need to assign better staff members to answer the phone. I recently tried placing an order on the phone and was first sent to VOICEMAIL by a lady after she asked if I could be placed on hold. Then, when I called back, I was asked if I could please hold AGAIN, so I did. I was placed on hold for almost 5 mins by a man. When someone finally came back on the line, they started hitting the digits and didn't realize I was still on hold. After hanging up and calling a THIRD time, they answered the phone and asked if I could please hold again, so I asked the man if there'd be a long wait as I was already waiting for 5 mins prior. He rudely asked, "Umm, what can I get you?" I said, "Nevermind" and hung up on him. A place like this doesn't deserve my business, so I'd rather give it to a company that values their customers. I used to love this place, the food used to be great. Stopped going because food wasn't as good and ever time I order my food spicy online they don't put any spice in it. Tried going back again yesterday. The crab rangoon was cold and hard. Not worth $9.50 for six of them. Again I asked for level 4 heat and got nothing. We just moved from the White Settlement area over to the Hulen area and were excited when we saw a new Thai restaurant opening right around the corner. Both me and my husband are vegetarians, so we were very pleased to see tofu listed as an option on nearly every dish. My husband got the vegetarian duck and I got the pineapple curry. We've never seen anything like the veg duck at any other restaurant in the Fort Worth area nor have I seen the pineapple curry. Both were excellent. My husband wanted to go back for more the same day even! So you know he was impressed. The duck was a little to "real" for my tastes (I even made the waitress confirm it was mock ha) but the flavor of the sauce was scrumptious. I would recommend a stop to any vegetarians in the area! Minus one star as they are fairly pricy, more so then any of the other Thai places I have reviewed so far and the service was rather slow, especially for being such a small place. But worth it if you are looking for some good Thai in the Hulen area or if you are looking to try a new veg dish! read more

So thanks to all the Yelper's i was asked to do a new review on Thai Select and i figured since lunch time was around the corner i figured i should come back to this place so here it goes Walked in and immediately i was approached by a pretty cute lady at the front and she asked if i would like to be seated but i informed her that it was to go. as i walked in the place was empty but it was just barely 5:50pm so not everybody is on lunch. the young kid at the bar area was bright and had a kind smile and greeted and asked how he could help. A much better and warm welcome than the last visit i had at this place so anyways he gave me a bigger menu and as i was looking i noticed an important option that i missed out on the last time i was here and i asked him about the whole spicy scale from 1 - 5 and he informed me of the spicy options but he also told me that they have a 6 but i wasnt not sure about it since im not sure how hot 5 so i told him to let me try that 5 and i also asked what he prefers and with out even looking at the menu i agreed to the dish at a 5 spice scale. FOOD REVIEW THE GOOD I'm not sure what it was that i ordered but it was not bad i got Full and damn was it spicy I dont think i could of gone with a 6 so ill just stick to the 5 on the scale. it was perfect for a cold day because you will sweat. THE BAD After careful inspection of the meal i noticed that it was pretty much the meal i had last time but chopped up. the Rice was not something i liked just as the past review so Yuck on the rice. OVERALL ughh well the food is good but then again it seems like i just ate the same thing again. only difference is the spice that was added. The price of $10.75 for a to-go meal is a little to high for my blood but i noticed that maybe im just a fat guy who just wants more bang for his buck. I say that because after eating that small plate with the rice mixed in i was filled up but the downfall with rice and chopped up beef is it only last for 1hr and after that i was hungry again and wishing i had more of that spicy beef. the sight of clutter on the counter, Christmas lights and and a jar of sauce splattered on the side oozing down and trash on the floor plus a chair close to the kitchen entrance was an eye sore plus a health hazard since its close to the front of the kitchen door but the cute lady was the best part of the place. After having eaten here two times I can confidently say that I'm a fan. I really love the Panang curry, they put red bell pepper and fresh basil into it which I thought was yummy. My husband loves the green curry and the Thai beer that they offer. Very nice ambiance. We have dined here twice during lunch and the natural light is beautiful. Prompt service was very appreciated. Let me start by saying the food is very good. My wife and I have visited this location 3 times. On our third visit they were very busy. They sat us uncomfortably close to another table even though other seats were available. They brought us water a few minutes after being seated. We sat with our water ready to order for around 15 minutes. We never had a waiter introduce or stop by.Our order was never taken, we're not sure how long it would have taken just to get our food out. Most guests around us were finished We were very hungry, so we left and went to Pei Wei down the road. The line for take out was long, but I believe a business should always prioritize the customers sitting in their facility. My most recent experience here was to get Boba to go. I had heard they had good boba and wanted to grab some between running errands. Since they aren't set up for people to just stroll in and order boba it took a little waiting but I ended up getting twice as much boba since I was the only one who had ordered it and they ran out of their boba cups - 2 for 1 deal, can't complain!! I got the thai tea flavor and it was very slushy-like. I was expecting to be more creamy and less icy, but the bubbles were well made! I can't really complain since I got a lot of boba, but I guess I was expecting better from the recommendation I got. But like I said, I think I may have caught them off guard during a slow period and they were scrambling to make me a drink so I'd definitely recommend getting a boba with a meal or getting one during more peak hours :) read more

This is my "Go-To" Thai place in Fort Worth when I miss Thai food. Of course it is not like eating in Thailand but this is so far the best place I could find in Fort Worth. Plus the service is always great. I love how clean the place is and their lunch specials are a great deal at $9.25 and comes with a choice of egg or spring roll, a salad and an entree. The food is always good and my personal favorites are the green curry with tofu and pad thai. Tried this for the first time and my fiance and I were impressed. After our favorite Thai place on Belknap closed last year, we gave up searching for another place that we liked. The weekday lunch specials are $9.25 and are pretty filling. We got the panang and green curry. Even the 2/5 spice level has a nice kick - the fiance got a 3/5 and he liked it. This was the first time I've had brown rice with curry, but I'm pretty sure I won't be able to eat curry with white rice again. We'll be back... and will definitely be trying the highly recommended thai tea.
