Sooooo disappointed today. I've been eating here for some time and food taste great. Today I did an online order for pickup, paid for it, arrived to pick it up and ordered 2 Thai teas with no ice and they told me they would charge me $1 or $2 for no ice. Are you kidding me? My order was over $100 dollars and this is what it has come to? It was nice knowing you, I'll take my hunger somewhere else.

This place was recommended highly by my lover, she frequents this place because of how close it is to her home; but also how comforting the food can be for her. As her review stands it holds true. She usually gets the Thai tea which was so delicious. We were greedy! So we ordered so many dishes. I thought the portions were gonna be small, but they are good and family style. The Tom yum was so good. The yellow curry was warm and delicious. The pot stickers were surprisingly good, we like to add them to the curry. Def try that! The salt and pepper calamari was perfectly crispy and chewy. The service was welcoming and very helpful.

Pad Woon Sen

Food is delicious!! I had the Pad Woon Sen and it was yum :) Service was attentive and so kind! Our server drew a little picture for us-- he was so sweet.

Thailicious Sampler - everything was tasty

This place is right off of I-35 on Hulen street. It's in the big parking connecting to Central Market and it faces the highway. We got the Thailicious Sampler, Seafood Basket, Tom Yum Soup, and Fiery fish. The spice level is on the hotter side (which is good). The flavor was great and even the brown rice was good. The only issue is that everything is a little too salty. You'll need to eat with rice. If you want some place nice off the highway, give it a try.

This was a nice little place to stop for a late night dinner!! They were open until 10pm and we definitely needed some food a little bit after 9 so we were excited to try it out.. The atmosphere was nice and quiet inside and the servers were friendly.. We sat down immediately and ordered apps and then decided on the main course.. All the food was fresh and delicious. We all got full and went home happy

Pricy for 2 people!

Eaten here several times and today we encountered Kloe.....our waitress who wasn't the least bit helpful or at all friendly. Uggggggh. If you read my reviews I typically never complain on service...today it just had to be noted. We asked for a different server and Jose arrived. He was better...not great but better. Thai Tea=Yummy. We Consistently order the pepper steak with Fried Rice. Today though we had to order (2) entrees, one pepper steak $15.00 which only comes with brown or white rice. You'd think no big deal, but today it was. We had to order another entree of Fried rice, $13.99 vs an up charge of $2.00 more for fried rice. Ok great we will take the left overs home. Ordering this combo was problematic with both servers. I ordered the Pai Thai. It's good and I mean good. The fried rice is delicious (it should be for $13) and the Peppercorn steak was "ok". Over all 3.5-4 star review for the food. I'm going to come back for a business lunch and see if we're treated better. If so, then I get it. Judged by the company you keep and the way we were dressed. (Super causal for a Sunday as we were moving) Received the check and my initial thought was pricey for just two people!

Pangang Curry is it's tofu and brown rice
Ashleigh L.

This place surprised me as it was very tasty, Service was great and it appeared the place was compliant with the CoVID restrictions of social distancing (including plexiglass). I gauge my Thai food establishments on my favorite dish: Pangang curry with tofu. The side of rice was served on the side in the shape of a heart- what a sweet touch. This place did not disappoint. The food was delicious and the tofu in the dish was plentiful. I ordered it with a spice level of 1 and it was a bit spicy but she reassured me that no spice was added but it was just their pangang spice. It was still very good and I would recommend this place for dine in, pick up or delivery thru it's affiliated delivery partners. Side note: although the dine in area was not busy (only 2 tables - including ours - the entire time), the take out and delivery was very busy! I'm glad they are getting business because I would like to come here again.

Pad Thai with pork
Marli M.

Overall a great experience but not a place I would go out of the way for. The restaurant was clean and we had it all to ourselves on a Sunday afternoon. We started with egg rolls and they were very good, crispy and full. I didn't love the sauce that came with them. My husband and I split the pad Thai with pork for our entree. It was hardly enough for both of us, which is not normally the case with pad Thai. The pad Thai was good and tasty, but we got the regular and probably should have gone spicy for more flavor. Wait staff was kind and attentive.

Just has the spicy powder dumped on top

The meat needs seasoning, the meal is too bland. I have to add soy sauce. I had the pad woon sen.

Some things stood out as different today: - It was desolate on a Thursday at noon, just 2 couples eating - The food is different - see below The good? Service was fast. There were 4 male workers hanging out, ready to serve us. So that was nice. Also, the app and meal came out fast. Today, two of us shared: - Fresh Spring Roll with Shrimp - Pad Key Mao with Beef There were two shrimp rolls in the order. Both were very fat - stuffed full of lettuce and cabbage mostly. Each roll had 1/2 a shrimp in it. For long rolls, I'm accustomed to two 1/2 shrimps in them. Being so fat, they were harder to eat as they sort of fell apart from the bulk of green in it. As we split our meal, they served each of the two rolls on their own plates, each with a dish of peanut sauce. So that was nice. The Pad Key Mao (Drunken Noodle) was meh. I'd rate it a 2.5 on its own. The presentation was nice but there just wasn't much flavor and the beef wasn't thin strips of sirloin. I think we'll pause Spice for a bit.

They were good and fresh. I'd like to have had some fresh basil inside them. The peanut sauce was Devine. The perfect compliment. The crab Rangoon was soooo good. Lightly crispy in texture and delicious. One of the best I've ever eaten. The chicken pad Thai was "ok". I ordered a 2 in heat level and it was served a bit more "hotter" than I'd have liked. The chili oil slightly over powered the dish. The range offered was 1-5 in terms of spice and thought I'd be safe with a 2. I'm still trying to decide if I liked it or not (I'm super picky when it comes to Thai food) Landing 3 stars for the Pad Thai. The fried rice was good as was the wonton soup. My sis enjoyed it even though she's not a huge Thai food lover. This is a hole in the wall with only 6 tables. Service was Friendly and quick. M that I had ordered the spicy basil and chicken dish, the fried tofu appetizer and the fried shrimp appetizer during my last visitm The spicy basil and chicken dish I ordered I asked for a level two spice because I wasn't really wanting something super spicy . Their level two is other Thai restaurants levels three or four so it was spicier than I had anticipated but I didn't mind because I do like spicy food. I just wasn't in the mood for it at night, but it was good.Mm crispy shrimp appetizers were probably the best I've ever had at a Thai restaurant. The wonton wrapper on the outside was super crispy almost no oil which I really appreciate it wasn't greasy tasting and there was I want to say spinach or a green vegetable that was also incorporated inside the wrap so I really really like that The most disappointing item that I got was the fried tofu because it was overcooked almost to the point of being burnt, which made it very dried out and tough . Sadly, this was the one dish. I was really excited about because so few places make or fried tofu anymore. The portion size was fair for the price, but it was pretty inedible. I will probably not be ordering this dish again. Overall, the portion size for the price was very fair . The main entrée and the shrimp appetizer I ordered were delicious. The restaurant is very clean and the kitchen looked spotless and immaculate. It's a great little neighborhood restaurant. I'll definitely be going back and trying some of the other items on their menu. I would definitely recommend.

A quick note on seating: the patio is lovely in theory, with the optional open windows and a breezy feel, but the chairs are not winning any comfort awards. Inside booths are the move. Also worth noting, this is Fort Worth, and once the thermometer hits triple digits, the patio conversation ends itself if the windows are open. Plan accordingly. Malai starts every table with steamed sticky rice and an eggplant dip, which is a charming little ritual and a genuinely good one. We also kicked things off with the Edamame, a heads up on the heat level there, and the Fried Imperial Rolls, filled with ground pork and shrimp and served with a sesame soy sauce. Fair warning: these do not photograph well and arrive at the table looking a little shy. Don't be fooled. They're flavorful, subtly spicy, and well worth ordering. For entrees, we tried the Basil Vegetable Fried Rice two ways, one vegan and one with chicken. The vegan version was a genuine surprise, with vegetables cooked just right and a flavor that didn't need the chicken to make its case. The mushrooms, however, had the texture of something you'd find in a hardware store. Chew at your own risk. The Green Curry, meanwhile, was a case of too much of a good thing. The curry was so heavy-handed it drowned everything underneath it. Sometimes restraint is a virtue. Save room for the Banana Pot de Crème. It's creamy, subtly sweet, and a graceful finish to the meal. The service at Malai is enthusiastic, and I do mean enthusiastic. The staff works as a team, all smiles, attentive, always nearby. Occasionally a little too nearby. More than once a plate nearly disappeared before we were done with it. It's a small complaint, and honestly a far better problem than the alternative. They're warm, cheerful, and clearly enjoy what they do, which goes a long way. Portions are generous, so order a few dishes and share the wealth. For a lunch stop between shops, Malai Kitchen punches well above its weight.
