Went for lunch today and was greeted promptly..ordered Chicken Pad Thai Medium ...Lunch came with Soup and an Appetizer and a Thai Donut ..Food was served at lightening speed and was hot, fresh and delish....the place was decorated very nicely too when on the area I will be back again?

Came in for sweet and sour chicken and wonton soup. Staff was nice and was able to place the order to go at the counter. Ordered with a specific pick up time given my daughter was getting her hair done in the same plaza and we wanted to pick up dinner when heading home. The restaurant had a few folks dining in upon my arrival to place the order and given the Yelp reviews I read it seemed like a good place to get dinner. The soup I didn't even get a picture of but was ok. Wasn't the best but hubs said it was ok. The sweet and sour chicken however was not appetizing at all! This was actually what our dogs had (chicken only) after none of us wanted it. Won't be back here!

Located at a really small strip mall in Tampa Palms. It's a really small location that serves really delicious Thai food, everything feels very authentic and thoroughly cooked for the lunch special. We were also served a fried Rangoon Thai style and also chicken soup. The interior of the small establishment is very well decorated with lots of Thai centric style. The staff here are exceptionally welcoming quick with serving. Upon entering, they do ask you to hand sanitize prior to sitting down. This is really nice because it reduces the spread of Covid. You also have the choice to seat yourself wherever you want to in the establishment, so you can properly space yourself amongst others. Will be back again!

Very average place. Honestly, I hoped for a better Thai food but it was not. I love Thai food and I also spent a good time on Thailand, so I am pretty familiar with a cuisine. I was excited to finally try Thai food in Tampa but I wasn't too happy. Food was very average, nothing special or good. I had so many much better Thai dishes. They didn't have many traditional dishes that most restaurants usually have, like papaya salad or pad see ew. I had pad Thai and wasn't impressed. It also closes very early. I don't think I will be back.

Pros: One of the more well decorated Thai restaurants in New Tampa. Great place for a date. The waiters(and one of the managers) were very good on checking on you. I ordered Red Curry and the amount of curry was good. Cons: They didn't have the heat on on one of the colder nights in Tampa. The amount of rice is a lot less than the amount of curry. At other Thai restaurants, I usually combine the rice with curry and have like 15-20% of the curry left. This time I had 35-40 percent left. (Extra rice is a $2 charge.) They didnt ask the level of spice for my dish. I found it solid, but would have preferred more heat. While I like some places a hair more, this being 5 minutes away can't beat!

Continues to be a great place for Thai food in New Tampa. Beautifully decorated. Great and friendly staff. And the food! So fresh and tasty. You will get a choice of how mild or spicy you'd like your dish. I had the Amazing chicken. chicken with peanut sauce. mixed steamed vegetables and rice. A great meal. Huge portion size as well. I wanted to take some for my lunch for the next day but I couldn't stop eating and ate it all. They are open Mon - Fri 11:00 AM - 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM - 9:30 PM. Sat: Noon - 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM - 9:30 PM and Sun: 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM.

I ordered the Tom Yum Tofu soup and Green curry (with vegetables and tofu). Both were delicious. My husband ordered the Panang curry (with vegetables and tofu) and fried wontons (sweet potato and chicken). The orange slices were a nice touch. We both enjoyed our food, but I liked my husband's Panang curry slightly more than my green curry. The staff were friendly. I came on a Friday night and there were only 2-3 other tables taken then.

Thai Ruby, When we arrived the place was empty. So I was doubting our date night selection. We were promptly seated and water was served. We looked over the menu and tried to decided. It was great food . ..order mild not medium. If you want something with spicy. Service was great. It began to get crowded as the evening when on. They had several carry outs as well.

Came here for lunch and it was so good I forgot to take a photo of the food. I had panang curry with chicken and my fiancé got black pepper and garlic chicken. Both dishes were great. I got mine spiced mild since I hadn't been in and my experience with Thai cuisine says mild and medium vary by restaurant and I'm glad I did! Beware, the green curry sauce is dessert in itself ! You will only taste the coconut milk and the sweetner nothing else. Wont be ordering ever again from this place. read more

I've been to a fair few Thai restaurants and definitely have a sense of what makes good Thai food (at least in terms of Thai restaurants in the US, as I've never been to Thailand... yet). We had take-out, so I can't really say much about the restaurant, though I did like the low-key lighting and the vibe of the place. Plus, my sister and I battled over who would pay for it and the hostess deferred to me "The gentleman, please." Ha! Anyway, the food is high quality and very flavorful. We had the shrimp pad thai, Gai Larb, fresh spring rolls (aka salad rolls), pineapple fried rice, and tofu red curry (ordered "Thai hot"). Everything had bright, fresh color and was well-prepared. Nothing was wilted, stale, or bland. For my taste, the "Thai hot" could have been hotter (didn't even break a sweat!) and the portions could have been larger. The bill came to around $57 and we didn't really have any leftovers, though given the quality of the ingredients and the food, I suppose the prices are fair. read more

We went there on a Friday night. Not very crowded, were able to find a table for 2 of us and the 4 year old. I ordered 'Fancy Lobster' from the menu which took about 20 minutes to come. This dish has a lobster tail, scallops, shrimp and some more sea food in it. The lobster was overlooked and was totally inedible. Very disappointing. We had a 4 year old with us, and they did not have any kids menu at all which is a huge disappointment as well. Not very impressed and may never go there again. read more

Overall, a really good Thai restaurant. Me being a Thai food enthusiast (minus the curry part), is currently partaking in a mini journey to find the best Pad Thai out of having to buy a ticket to Thailand. I've had my fair share of pad thai around Tampa and most of them fell far short of my ultimate favorite one in my hometown of Pittsburgh. However, I've finally found an amazing, authentic, and affordable Thai restaurant in North Tampa. Plus, it's only a mile from my house in an overlooked plaza. Good portions and fresh veggies. Also it's pretty saucy, which I'm always a fan of. Nothing is worse than dried up rice noodles with a hint of pad thai sauce sticking together. I think this place is worth a try for anyone in the area. read more

Had lunch there this afternoon with some colleagues. Decor is typical Thai restaurant, but very clean, spacious and nice. Food is the star and the prices. The food is presented so beautifully that you eat with your eyes first and then everything else. I did not signify a spice level as they did not ask, and yet the dish was perfect. Not too hot and not too bland. The dish had such fresh ingredients, that many I have never seen in real life before. I think most Thai places put dehydrated things and they put the real deal. Just beautiful. Perfect symphony of flavors. We went during lunch time and their lunch menu is steller. For just 7 or 9 dollars you get a small appetizer, soup, main entree and a yummy dessert. The yummy dessert is deep fried batter with some sugar and nuts. It is so delicious that I just wanted to eat it all. I may go to this location just for the dessert but may end up getting a whole meal. A definite repeat on a weekly basis type of place! read more

Ate dinner there last night with large group of people. The food was tasty, everyone liked their dishes. I had chicken fried rice, was much more tasty than at most similar type restaurants. The ambiance is okay, plenty of different things to try on the menu. Couldn't give the fifth star because the service wasn't best. My drink never arrived, dishes arrived slowly to the table(chicken fried rice is not a complicated dish), and they didn't clear the dishes even after it was clear we were done eating. But we enjoyed our evening there. read more

Honestly, it just wasn't good. I went with 5 other family members and I sampled some of the other plates and all were equally bad. Some had little to no sauce, some had a couple of strands of noodles in a noodle dish, the beef was cooked till it was bone dry, and the shrimp was cooked so long, it could have been mistaken for shrimp jerky. Not worth returning nor recommending to others. read more

This is the one place we come to EVERY time we visit Tampa- the food is that good. Always delicious and consistent. Wish I had some right now. Best mussaman, pad thai and thai coffee ever. Tried the pineapple fried rice for the first time and it was great! Will be back soon! read more

Hidden gem! I came with a co worker on lunch and was seated immediately. We were served the soup of the day (chicken and rice in a light broth). I ordered the VOLCANO SOFTSHELL CRAB medium (level of heat) entree so good with a tray of spices to try. I'll definitely return. I just wish it wasn't so dark. read more

Here's my review of a to go order I placed at Thai ruby's: There is always a language barrier when you order from an Asian restaurant, but then Ruby's totally wins you over with service and taste. Red curry with chicken: Tasted amazing and the Quantity was perfect for a lunch portion. Panang with vegetables: tofu was done right and tasted fantastic along with the curry. All in all this is a fantastic place and I would definitely come back! read more

We had a big family party and my sister and I each ordered from Thai Ruby for pick up. Ordering online was a breeze. I went to pick up the food. I was pleased to see masks were required for non vaccinated ( I have been vaccinated ) and 3 of the people that worked there all greeted me cheerfully. I could tell they were smiling under their masks too. The restaurant inside is just beautiful! When I feel ready to eat indoors, I would love to go eat there. The scent of cooking food was delightful. OK so the food itself. I lived in Los Angeles before coming to FL and had some of the best Thai food ever, and although I found some very good places here in Tampa Bay nothing quite like what I had in LA. ( The LA Thai had more complex flavors, more vegetables. ) Thai Ruby was very close to LA and very good! I had asked if they could cook in low sodium soy sauce and they did! I had the drunken noodles and thai cashew. Both were absolutely delicious!! I loved their food. I live pretty far from there but when ever I am in their neighborhood I will get their delicious food. Finally I found a good Thai restaurant in Tampa area. Cozy thai atmosphere and decor. The waiter was genuinely friendly, strong delicious Thai ice tea, I ordered the chicken red curry and my husband ordered the panang curry chicken, both were delicious and authentic. This place is definitely going to be on list of favorite Thai restaurant. read more

We started with the chicken rice soup which I was a little hesitant about but it ended up being absolutely delicious. I got the chicken fried rice which was pretty good but it shocks me how much restaurants have cut down on how much rice they give in the past couple of years! My mother got the shrimp fried rice which promised to have basil in the menu but she didn't get any basil leaves and she was pretty upset. When we asked they said that the shrimp spicy fried rice (which was listed in the same exact line as the shrimp fried rice) comes with basil and hers does not. It wasn't obvious in the menu and they really should fix that or at least point out the difference between two dishes if they're going to be listed in the same line in the daily lunches special. Overall, the quality and taste of the food was good but the lack of basil leaves made my mom pretty upset! read more

This Thai restaurant does everything right! Crispy spring rolls served with a delicious sauce, coconut chicken soup that is full of flavor and Tofu in chili sauce that is perfectly spicy but not hot! The Amazing Chicken entree is yummy too. The service is friendly, fast and efficient. You will love the food, atmosphere and service. I'll return often. read more

This one star only means I can't review zero or below. They charge u 18% service fee when u get 6 or more people!!!!!! The food are not really good taste, but really in not reasonable price. The scallop dish is $19 with 7 piece! The manager got vey rude when we question about the 18%, even it is their fault to miscalculate the price! read more

This is the best Thai food in the New Tampa area. The beef and broccoli is AMAZING and the starter platter with all of the appetizers is great. The owners are very sweet and generous. I frequently find myself craving this food! read more

Love getting the chicken pad thai with crab rangoon for appetizer. The crab rangoons are amazing and stuffed full of crab that just melts in your mouth. Very large portion of pad thai. Great place for date night. read more

Took my daughter to Thai Ruby for her birthday lunch. I had the Salmon and Shrimp garlic, she had the Duck and my wife had the Volcano. All of the meals came on a clam shaped plate. Everything was very good and the service was good as well. It is a little to dark inside but I guess that could be for a romantic setting. I'm not sure but other than that, we had no complaints read more

They have their own parking in this plaza. Walked in here around 8:30 PM. They close at 10PM. A lot of places around closed earlier for a Thursday night from my search. The tofu was as so plentiful that I ended up taking half the starter home. They definitely give you plenty! For our entrees, I ordered Panang Curry with steamed tofu and my friend ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice. Both dishes came out hot and smelled lovely, and the taste was out of this world! We tried the Candied Maple Bacon Ice Cream and the Bourbon Butter Cake. The ice cream wasn't really my favourite; I thought the cornflakes were a bit of a strange addition, but my dad enjoyed it. The Bourbon Butter Cake, on the other hand, was delicious and a great way to finish off the meal. Between the beautiful setting, excellent food, great drinks, and friendly service, it's easy to see why Ulele is such a popular Tampa destination. Second - fried zucchini balls. While I did like them, I wish they were smaller so the inside was a little more cooked. Third - Creamy Tomato Vodka Pasta - yummy with a bit of kick! This was my favorite food item. Fourth - Queen Stella Margherita pizza. Surprisingly, this was my least favorite item. We got it thin-crust, and while it looked good, it was served completely cold, and the flavor can only be described as cardboard-like. I would definitely try another pizza here, but not this one. My friends also split an order of meatballs, which they loved. While they had wine for dessert, I had a piece of limoncello cake for dessert. It was fantastically lemony and moist, which I loved. Their parking lot is valet only, but fortunately you only have to pay the $6 fee Fri-Sun, so we just had to tip the very friendly valet.

We tried the spring rolls (they were so bland), wontons (tasted like straight turmeric), and the calamari (calamari was actually pretty good.) after those, for my entree, I got the chicken pad thai, and asked for mild spice, it was so spicy to the point I couldn't even eat it. The spice overpowered any taste that it actually had, I ended up paying for everything, although I literally took ONE bite out of the chicken pad thai. Thai Ruby is my favorite restaurant in Tampa, and here's why: This is the perfect place to go if you want a chill celebration. The atmosphere is so calming and tranquil; I took my friend here for her birthday and we had the most relaxing birthday of all time.
