We got the steamed dumplings. Very well received with a wonderful dipping sauce. Entrees came with either an egg roll or soup. My soup was sooo flavorable. My wife had the pad thai. My choice was the basil fried rice with pork. Both dishes were large proportions. I asked for some hot sauce and out came 4 choices. The chili powder was my favorite-such a nice heat! My wife and I are big fans of Thai food, and pretty much make an effort to try at least one Thai restaurant in every city we travel to. We've had a lot of great Thai food over the years - and some of my wife's family is from Thailand, so plenty of good food at home too - and Thai Palace is easily in our top 5. We ordered the shrimp Tom Yum soup, tofu green curry, and tofu Penang curry, all hot. The curries were just about as close to perfect as I've ever had. Perfectly balanced salt, sweet, heat, and acid - I really can't say enough good things. The real star was the Tom Yum soup. We ordered it hot (not Thai hot) and it was seriously spicy. I'm not as tough when it comes to heat as my wife, but I still think it holds up as hot. All in all, awesome food, highly recommended. read more

4 mos ago we were here in person for lunch and we gave it a 5 star. We'd been there many times and always 4-5 star ratings. We have since ordered the exact same items and had delivered, all three main entrees were too thin and watery. Very disappointed in the difference from a 5 star to a 1 star. Orchids decorating entrees, food carving, even the wrapper on your straw made into a flower. These touches are there to delight your eyes. Their food will delight your palate. Curries and noodle dishes are quite good. They have several good duck dishes and seafood offerings are abundant. Spice levels can be adjusted according to your tastes. I have eaten here many times and I've never been disappointed. The service is good. The food is fantastic the atmosphere is very friendly. I love that they put big chunks of zucchini in the Panang and the serving sizes are pretty decent. Their soups are very good as well as the crab rangoons and the chicken satay. Two minor complaints are not removing the tails in shrimp dishes and that they are slightly higher priced than the competition. This, I'd say, is the best Thai restaurant in the area of Bradenton/Sarasota. Today, we (my girlfriend and I) got delivery from Thai Palace for dinner. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai. As this was my first time eating there, I went for a classic, but turned up the volume a little bit by noting "make spicy+extra sauce" on my delivery order. It was, in fact, a perfect level of spicy, sweet, and savory. The chicken was cooked well in the sauce, the noodles were the right texture, and it was an all around tasty and enjoyable eating experience. We shared the "curry" crab rangoons or at least I'd call them that as they had that sort of flavor profile. They had just a hint of spiciness, a nice creamy texture, were fried to perfection, and came with an excellent sweet and spicy sauce to go with them. The mixture of the savory Rangoon and the spicy/sweet sauce was an excellent combination. My girlfriend had the chicken noodle soup (which I, of course, tried a small amount of after eating most of mine). It had some nice vegetables in it, the chicken was a little bit dry, but the broth was tasty and the noodles were cooked to a good texture. I felt it was a nice soup, although I very much so preferred the spicy pad Thai that I ordered. This was a great eating experience and I would be glad to visit this establishment every time I eat Thai food in this area. I was trying to seek out great Thai while in the area and boy did I succeed! This place is fantastic! Service was great, food came out fast and hot, but most importantly the food was awesome! My husband and I first discovered Thai Palace , on Cortez Road, west of Tamiami Trail, after a lovely day on Anna Marie Island. Excellent food , many choices! we've enjoyed their Pad Thai, ginger chicken, basil chicken, egg rolls, and noodle soups. Cheerful , attentive service, very clean and beautifully decorated. In the month we've spent here, we have returned to Thai Palace more often than any other restaurant in the Sarasota/ Bradenton area. Looking forward to our next meal there! I wonder.... Food was amazing. Ordered the Tom yum soup and Penang curry. I got both medium hot but wasn't spicy enough for me which next time I'll get hot. Only reason I gave a 4 star was because the girl working that day did not seem friendly nor seem like she wanted to be there. Very bland and unapproachable. If I asked a question, she'd give me one word... I think it's important to have someone who's approachable especially when they take orders on phone and that's the first person you see walking through the door. Also, she didn't really explain to me that rice came with both dishes until I went to go pick up my food and almost ordered more rice thinking it didn't come with it. From the outside this place does not look like much. The windows are tinted, it's in a strip mall, and does not look like the most exciting place. Walk in though, and you are transported to a new place. The decor is plush and colorful and it really transports you to a Thai setting. I loved that the menu was exceptionally clear and well designed -- the options had pictures and a clear pricing depending on what meat/fish/veg you opted for. The star of the show for me was the almond encrusted fried dick strip that are on the appetizer selection. They were utterly delicious, so succulent and tasty! The panang curry was very flavorful too and when I asked for more spice, they brought out some Thai spices for me to choose from. Most entrees are prices at around $12-16 dollars - and you won't leave here feeling hungry. I look forward to returning. read more

First visit, not sure if I'll be back to visit. Came in at lunch time on a Tuesday. We waited for a a while to be seated, another customer saw how slow we were being served and left. We finally were seated and provided water, not asked if we wanted anything other than water. Waited a fair amount of time to place our order.
