We got the steamed dumplings. Very well received with a wonderful dipping sauce. Entrees came with either an egg roll or soup. My soup was sooo flavorable. My wife had the pad thai. My choice was the basil fried rice with pork. Both dishes were large proportions. I asked for some hot sauce and out came 4 choices. The chili powder was my favorite-such a nice heat! My wife and I are big fans of Thai food, and pretty much make an effort to try at least one Thai restaurant in every city we travel to. We've had a lot of great Thai food over the years - and some of my wife's family is from Thailand, so plenty of good food at home too - and Thai Palace is easily in our top 5. We ordered the shrimp Tom Yum soup, tofu green curry, and tofu Penang curry, all hot. The curries were just about as close to perfect as I've ever had. Perfectly balanced salt, sweet, heat, and acid - I really can't say enough good things. The real star was the Tom Yum soup. We ordered it hot (not Thai hot) and it was seriously spicy. I have eaten here many times and I've never been disappointed. The service is good. The food is fantastic the atmosphere is very friendly. I love that they put big chunks of zucchini in the Panang and the serving sizes are pretty decent. Their soups are very good as well as the crab rangoons and the chicken satay. Two minor complaints are not removing the tails in shrimp dishes and that they are slightly higher priced than the competition. This, I'd say, is the best Thai restaurant in the area of Bradenton/Sarasota. Today, we (my girlfriend and I) got delivery from Thai Palace for dinner. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai. As this was my first time eating there, I went for a classic, but turned up the volume a little bit by noting "make spicy+extra sauce" on my delivery order. It was, in fact, a perfect level of spicy, sweet, and savory. The chicken was cooked well in the sauce, the noodles were the right texture, and it was an all around tasty and enjoyable eating experience. We shared the "curry" crab rangoons or at least I'd call them that as they had that sort of flavor profile. They had just a hint of spiciness, a nice creamy texture, were fried to perfection, and came with an excellent sweet and spicy sauce to go with them. The mixture of the savory Rangoon and the spicy/sweet sauce was an excellent combination. My girlfriend had the chicken noodle soup (which I, of course, tried a small amount of after eating most of mine). It had some nice vegetables in it, the chicken was a little bit dry, but the broth was tasty and the noodles were cooked to a good texture. I felt it was a nice soup, although I very much so preferred the spicy pad Thai that I ordered. This was a great eating experience and I would be glad to visit this establishment every time I eat Thai food in this area. Only reason I gave a 4 star was because the girl working that day did not seem friendly nor seem like she wanted to be there. Very bland and unapproachable. If I asked a question, she'd give me one word... I think it's important to have someone who's approachable especially when they take orders on phone and that's the first person you see walking through the door. Also, she didn't really explain to me that rice came with both dishes until I went to go pick up my food and almost ordered more rice thinking it didn't come with it. From the outside this place does not look like much. The windows are tinted, it's in a strip mall, and does not look like the most exciting place. Walk in though, and you are transported to a new place. The decor is plush and colorful and it really transports you to a Thai setting. I loved that the menu was exceptionally clear and well designed -- the options had pictures and a clear pricing depending on what meat/fish/veg you opted for. The star of the show for me was the almond encrusted fried dick strip that are on the appetizer selection. They were utterly delicious, so succulent and tasty! The panang curry was very flavorful too and when I asked for more spice, they brought out some Thai spices for me to choose from. Most entrees are prices at around $12-16 dollars - and you won't leave here feeling hungry. I look forward to returning. read more

My husband and I first discovered Thai Palace , on Cortez Road, west of Tamiami Trail, after a lovely day on Anna Marie Island. Excellent food , many choices! we've enjoyed their Pad Thai, ginger chicken, basil chicken, egg rolls, and noodle soups. Cheerful , attentive service, very clean and beautifully decorated. In the month we've spent here, we have returned to Thai Palace more often than any other restaurant in the Sarasota/ Bradenton area. Looking forward to our next meal there! I wonder.... For a small town, Bradenton has a large amount of Thai restaurants to choose from- ranging from super scary to divine. From the outside Thai Palace is not much to look at, blending in with the beige strip mall full of neon signs. However, upon entering you feel transported to another land. The beautiful mahogany wood, deep red, and gold interior is breathtaking. The seating set-up is private and relaxing, the waitresses are patient, kind, and beautiful. I was mesmerized by the place- I could live there. Their full menu with pricing is all online, and there are a few photos. So, I had everything all planned out even before arriving. We eat an early dinner, because we are working folks that often wake-up at 5:30 everyday and are in bed early to make up for it. This causes us to become dinner "Earlybirds," which lumps us in with many retired folks in the area, that I swear go out to eat just to complain. There was a loud table of that going on behind us, but I did not let that get me down. We had the Crab Rangoon ($6.95) appetizer, but this is not your average Chinese take-out Rangoon. It was six golden crispy wontons filled with spicy curry cream cheese. Nothing like I have ever had before and they were oh-so-divine. Some people may find them very spicy, but you can dip them in the sweet sauce tone it down some. I have never seen a Thai restaurant with a large Pho style bowl of soup on their menu, so we definitely had to order that. The Beef Noodle Soup with Beef Ball ($9.95) was a large ceramic bowl filled with your choice of flat rice noodle or thin egg noodle. The broth is rich and toasty with a hint of curry flavor, and there were lots of yummy vegetables. But, we did pick out most of the celery. It was nice to eat that style of soup, but I will stick with the Thai dishes next time. The Amazing Noodles ($14.95) were on the season specialties menu. It was flat rice noodles and some vegetables covered in Penang curry sauce. I ordered an extra side of steamed jasmine rice, which came out on a little plate in the shape of heart, to mix with the extra sauce from the noodles. I cannot pass up a Thai donut, ever. The Thai Donuts were so good, and I tasted a hint of amaretto in the glaze sauce. This is a must try if you have never had them. Also, the Thai Palace Banana with Coconut Ice Cream was delicious as well. They are thin egg rolls stuffed with sticky rice, banana, and I tasted a jasmine aftertaste. Dip the hot roll in the cold coconut ice cream for the true experience. They did not have Sticky Coconut Rice with Mango when we were there, or I would have ordered that instead of the banana dish. Thai Palace is a great dining destination for those visiting the area or locals that are able to spend a little more money. They are located across from the best movie theater in Bradenton, so stop by there before or after a show. The waitress were inform about the concert and short dinner schedule. Our food came out and paid our bill in 45 minutes. We're as promised get out on time. We have ordered the duck strip as an appetizer. This is like chicken strip except is duck meat. It is well batter with season flour. The coating is crispy and go well with the Thai sweet chili sauce. The entrees are the garlic and black pepper seafood. It has squid, shrimp, and scallops. The black pepper and garlic is a bit light. I like like it stronger for the taste. However, it is pleasant for my wife. We also order Pad Kee Mow - the rice noodle with chicken. I thing this is the best dish of the night. Service is good and attentive.
