This place is amazing, the curry is so tasty and same with the appetizers. It accommodated my dietary restrictions considering I'm vegan and also exceeded my families expectations. We all loved it! They had the Thai tea which they had said was very tasty. My sister and I both ordered the pineapple curry, her's with scallops and mine with extra vegetables. If Thailand is anything like the Thai Palace, then book me a flight. I was on a five day business trip in Bradenton when I drove past this restaurant on the way to my hotel and decided to check it out one night. Even though its in a bit of a strip mall with an average look on the outside, the inside makes you feel like you just stepped off a plane in Bangkok. All of the decor and the tables are beautifully crafted and quite nice to look at. The staff, including the owner, Art, are EXTREMELY pleasant and helpful. Art would sit down at tables and take their orders while suggesting what he thought they may like. Almost every time, the people took his suggestions and were thoroughly pleased. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very friendly as many of the people were people who had been before and came back for the quality food and treatment from the staff. I ordered the Tom yam gung soup for $3.95 and the Seafood Pad Thai for $11.95, which were both bursting with flavor and very filling. Portion sizes were large and plentiful. They serve all sorts of oriental beers, as well as domestics and there is a good wine selection as well. I noticed domestic beers were $2.95. What made my visit to the Thai Palace so interesting was that after finishing my meal, paying my bill, and not having said a word to anyone the entire time I was there (I hate eating by myself on business!), the table next to me started talking to me. Upon contact with them, the guy sitting across from me (another table for 1!) joined in on the conversation. We sat and talked for 45 minutes post meal, exchanged contact information, and planned another night at the Thai Palace for the next time I'm in Bradenton. Very friendly atmosphere! I was only in the area for vacation and I miss Thai Palace already. I got Panang curry with tofu and it was absolutely incredible. I think a solitary tear may have run down my cheek at the first taste. I ate the entire portion (which was a good size) in one sitting. We had takeout, but the restaurant was gorgeous. This was our first visit to Thai Palace and is a fantastic find. Although I've had Thai food on occasion and am certainly no expert we found the quality, presentation, and taste to be superb. We started with two appetizers; Crab Rangoon ($6.95) which had a delicate crab flavor and very creamy, slightly spicy filling. They were just delicious. We also had the steamed dumplings ($6.95) made with a mixture of shrimp, pork and water chestnuts. They were excellent but nothing outstanding. Each appetizer was served with a different dipping sauce. We had two friends join us. They highly recommended the Egg Rolls and stated them as "the best ever". My wife had the Panang with shrimp ($10.95) a coconut milk based sauce and curry. This was served with a separate portion of rice. The shrimp were large and firm. She loved this dish and ate every morsel of the large portion of rice mixed with the delicious thick sauce. I had the Thai Palace Noodle with seafood ($12.95) listed as a "specialty". It is also available with Beef, Pork, Chicken or Tofu. It was served with an abundant quantity of seafood and delicate noodles in a light brown sauce. The large squid pieces had criss-cross slices and was perfectly tender. The scallops were large and plentiful. My only minor complaint was the medium sized shrimp had their tails on and would have been a bit easier to eat had they been removed. Our friend had the Lad-Nar ($10.95) and beef, described on the menu as "Noodles with gravy." This is a dish he's eaten often and declared it the best he's ever had. It did look great and appeared to be a Thai version of "comfort food". Think I'll have to try it next time. His wife had the sweet and sour chicken ($9.95) and seemed to enjoy it. I recall four very empty plates. We finished with Thai donuts ($ 3.95), golden brown, warm, sugary and excellent. Service was first class, although they weren't busy. The dining room is colorful and attractive. They do offer reservations and delivery with-in a three mile radius. We enjoyed it very much and will return. read more

We thought Thai Palace was excellent for many reasons. The cuisine is very authentic (so says my b/f who's been to Thailand several times). Then there is the hyper-attentive, pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable wait staff who left us alone to linger and canoodle, but we never felt neglected. Plus, it's nicely decorated with sculpted wall hangings and gilt edges, and very comfy. My b/f had chicken Pad Thai, and I had Larb Gai (chicken salad) and Tom Ka Gai (spicy coconut chicken soup). All were excellent, and fresh herbs like lemon grass and kaffir lime leaves were well used. We shared the sticky rice with mango dessert, which was delightful. I had a Thai iced tea with condensed milk that was very sweet. They put a lovely edible orchid (Latin name: Dendrobium) on each plate, which has a clean, mild taste similar to jicama - so eat it! One waitress is really grumpy. Every visit we've seen her she is scowling to be there. She is short tempered with the other servers, unpleasant and curt. Management surley knows who I mean. Time for her to go back to college and leave the rest of us out of her unhappiness, she spoils the experience. We'll be back to Thai Palace, and we're really looking forward to it. read more

Gabriel and I were aiming for a Thai restaurant in Bradenton that had been recommended to us. Luckily for us, after getting lost trying to find it, we finally arrived to find that it was closed. We did a quick search and found Thai Palace was nearby and had great reviews. Okay, change of plans and off we went! During lunch, entrees come with either soup or salad. We both opted for the salad and when it arrived, we worried that it would be an indication of the entree portions. The salad consisted of approximately 3 bites of iceburg lettuce, one tomato, a slice of cucumber and a few shreds of carrot. Not exactly enough to take the hunger edge off. The peanut dressing was good, the basic one that is typically found in Thai restaurants, but not exciting enough to make us very optimistic about what was coming next. When the entrees arrived soon after we finished our minuscule salads, we were pleasantly surprised right away. The presentation was lovely with a beautiful orchid and a fish shaped dish, and the aroma from both dishes was awesome. The pad thai with squid was excellent. I can easily say it was the BEST Pad Thai I've had since moving from NYC to Florida, and that alone is worth the 30 minute drive it took to get there. The balance of the salty, sweet, peanut sauce and the fresh sauteed squid couldn't be better. The creaminess of a light coating of the sauce didn't overpower or smother the consistency of the noodles. Big yum. We also shared a delicious Panang Curry with Tofu. The curry sauce was blended with coconut milk and peanuts. The various fresh vegetables included carrot, mushroom, snowwpea, baby corn, bell pepper, celery, and zucchini. This sauce had so much complexity to it and we both couldn't get enough. We actually ordered a second helping of rice- something that we really never do, because we couldn't possibly let all of the extra sauce go to waste. I was VERY happy that the little, boring salads were not at all representative of the abilities of the chef here. Our meal, overall, was far and away the best Thai food we've had in a while- and we go out for Thai food frequently. I love that you can get brown rice here, and that any of the curries can be made vegan. Plus, the decor is nice and the curries are super delish! My favorite is the panang, and my hubby loves the green. With or without tofu. My only complaint is that they don't label menu items as vegan, plus they don't offer much else that's vegan. If they had a much better (and clearly defined) vegan selection, I'd happily give them another star! read more

Can't say enough good things. The service was great, the decor and music were pleasant and relaxing, the yellow curry was spicy and a little sweet. Thai Palace is one of my favorite places to just relax and eat a some of the best food I've ever had. The atmosphere is phenomenal, especially knowing that it was all made from Home Depot materials and a little bit of the restaurant owner's touch. While dining at Thai Palace, I noticed how organized and well trained the staff is. The people are very nice and the owner, Art, is hilarious. I would have to recommend that you try the Tom Kar Gai soup (about $4), the Panang Duck ( about $15), and the Thai Palace Banana's with Coconut Ice Cream (about $5). All the food is amazing, and the deserts are untouchable when it comes to taste. They also have a great wine selection with a wide variety of different types of Beers, in case your not a wine drinker. Singha beer or Thai Ice Tea with cream are some other recommendations for drinks. I think you'll have a fabulous time dining in the Restaurant Thai Palace. read more

And so ends my week of Thai restaurants for lunch and I apparently saved the best for last. I have driven past this nondescript strip mall many times and had no idea there was a Thai restaurant buried inbetween Beall's Outlet, a mattress store, a Subway sandwich shop and a Dollar General. Look for any of those stores on the sign out front because you'll probably miss the Thai Palace sign. This week I've visited 5 different Thai restaurants and ordered the same dish for lunch, Chicken Pad Thai. This restaurant is by far the best of the lot. Very fast seating and my water glass was filled as I was sitting down. For the lunch specials you get a choice of either a small cup of soup and a spring roll or a salad. I went with the soup and spring roll and the soup was excellent. A very simple chicken and rice in a clear broth, but the broth was unexpectedly hearty and brimming with rich flavor. The spring roll arrived nice and hot, but it didn't have a lot of flavor to it. The Chicken Pad Thai arrived and it was artfully presented on a plate that included a purple orchid on a small bed of shredded cabbage as the garnish. I ordered my dish at 'medium' spice, the same as what I ordered at every restaurant this week, and this dish arrived at the medium-hot range, at least for me. It was very tasty but slightly hotter than I prefer. I could taste the fresh egg in this dish and it had a lot of flavor on top of the hot spice. The food was excellent and I think I found my new favorite restaurant. Service was super fast so if you are trying to get in and out during an hour lunch break, you can rest assured that it is possible at this place. Even with a large party of over 20 people on the other side of the partition and several occupied booths, the servers here (only 2 of them) were on the ball and refilling water and bringing checks and entrees very quickly. While I was eating my entree, a table of 3 older ladies was seated and one of them was obviously a regular. She was describing dishes in detail for her companions and seemed particularly fond of the Crab Ragoon. Judging from the number of people in the restaurant and the quality of the food, I'm sure they are doing a good business even with being buried in a nondescript strip mall. Absolutely worth a try and the lunch specials are very reasonable. My entree was $7.95 including the soup and spring roll. They have a very nice selection of lunch specials so if Pad Thai isn't your thing, you are bound to find something to your liking. read more

What can I say it was indeed another beautiful day at Thai Palace. The service was great and the food was delicious. I had not tried the beef noodle soup from here so today I did and im glad I did! The problem with this place is that the portion sizes are so small. The flavors are there but man 10 plus dollars and the food is tiny. Considering that you are paying 12 dollars for noodles, the food should at least be normal sized. They should possibly get smaller plates, because the food doesn't get anywhere near the edges. So if you don't mind spending money and still being hungry go there, the food tastes good but it won't be enough. read more

I went on Sunday at about 7PM and all but two tables/booths were full. I waited about five minutes before I was seated and water was promptly poured. However, I waited ten minutes and still didn't have a menu. While waiting, I heard at least two tables complain about their orders. I finally got up and placed an order to go. The lady apologized because "It's been crazy," but I've a feeling it's like this often on Sunday nights given the lack of restaurants open in Bradenton. I told the lady what I wanted and then asked the wait time. She said it'd be thirty minutes. I told her to go ahead and place the order but if I found something else, I'd cancel. She understood. Four minutes after placing my order, I canceled and decided to go somewhere else. The moral of this story is to NOT eat in the restaurant. Just get take out! read more

Our first visit a few months ago was kinda ehhh, it was the weekend and we were the first ones in the door. I've had Thai before, but my husband hadn't so I was trying to open his horizons a bit. Decided to try this place on a whim, it was close by and had good reviews. I got the chicken noodle soup with egg noodles, my boyfriend got the chicken pad Thai made spicy with extra sauce and we shared the curry crab rangoon which were medium spicy. Everything was great! The soup was light and flavorful, the veggies were cooked perfectly but the chicken was a little dry, however it's probably something I would order again. My boyfriend said the chicken pad Thai had the perfect amount of spice and flavor and the noodles were just the right texture. The crab Rangoon were interesting, never had any with curry in them but I'd consider them a new favorite of mine along with the spicy sweet dipping sauce. A craving for massaman curry led me here, by mere fact that it was closest to me. This tiny lovely restaurant is at one of those ubiquitous strip malls, completely nondescript from the outside. The massassan chicken curry alas was not flavorful - massaman well prepared can be heaven. I was however, quite taken with the decor - dark wood background, deep red/wine walls with dazzing golden thai decoration. It gives for a lovely effect, and left me feeling that I was definitely not in a strip mall. I've been back twice since to dine in - had the Amazing curry with duck and Panang curry with duck. Terrific. The duck was just perfectly crunchy (sometimes restaurants can over cook it and it gets too crunchy and unenjoyable) and the curry sauces flavorful and delicious. Also had the Curry Puffs for appetizer, they're very thin wonton-like pastries stuffed with curry ground chicken. They were addictive and crunchy and seriously, delish. Excuse my gushing. The service is friendly and not overly attentive - a style that works well for me. I had a strong urge to hug our waitress for some strange reason.
