We were excited to try the restaurant so we went and it was too busy so made a reservation for the following night at 6 pm. Upon arrival the following night the hostess/owner said we needed to wait even though there were two tables available with reserved signs. She said there was a reservation at 6:15 pm. I've had Thai food all over the world (including Thailand), and while I'm not a connoisseur, I know when it tastes good. And the food at this little restaurant was GOOD. Our dishes were made of fresh, well-cooked ingredients, served promptly and hot, and I like that they don't pander to the uninformed demand for tongue-searing spiciness. The WORST soup I have ever had a a Thai restaurant. I've eaten at A LOT of Thai restaurants, long before it was even the fad. It had zero flavor and even less ingredients...well, that's an exaggeration. It had 3 mushroom PIECES, 2 slivers of onion, a fingernail sized piece of lemongrass, and one tiny sliver of red pepper. I ordered it with chicken and no surprise, it had VERY little and what it did have was tough and in long pieces too big to put in your mouth with a spoon. But it did have a lot of coconut milk. Actually it was like a small bowl of coconut milk with a few pieces of chicken floating in it. I'm sure at some point I'll try it again but this was such a wreck, it will be a long time. We were greeted and told to hurry and order because the kitchen was closing in 10 minutes. We were rushed the entire meal. The waitress didn't bother writing down our order so she never brought the spring rolls we ordered. Only a few minutes after our food was brought to us the check was dropped off. We've eaten here a lot, and the food is great. They are very good with food allergies. We are partial to the Thai food on the menu, but no one should feel apprehensive about the sushi, as the restaurant employs experienced chefs in both. Our issue has been with the service, which the management doesn't seem to prioritize. They frequently get our phone in orders wrong, and they are slow to respond to customers. I wish I could review on the food but we couldn't get anyone to take our order. My husband went there to get takeout for us and they were very busy. Understandable it was a holiday week. They let him know if would be an hour for the food. He told them let me check with my wife. He called me and I said go for it. He then waited for someone to notice him so he could order and he was ignored for 10 minutes while other people around were helped. I hear the food is good so maybe in the future we will try again. I will definitely return to Thai Nigiri. We ordered Shrimp in a Blanket, Tom Yum Soup and an Alaska Roll for a late night snack whilst walking downtown one night. Shrimp in a Blanket is a springroll-type rendition of Pigs in a Blanket and might be fun for the kids in your group. I ordered the Tom Yum soup and found the ingredients to be proportionate with fresh chicken and vegetables complimenting a strong lemongrass scent. I would make this a must-have recommendation for anyone in your group who likes spicy food. Finally, an order of the Alaska Roll: masterfully done. A tightly wrapped sushi with evenly sliced bites that stand up straight will impress even the seasoned sushi fan. The salmon was of a good cut, still cold to the bite and the slice of lemon really brightened up an old favorite. Service was delightful and ready to provide chopsticks but management should heed this note: If it weren't for the masterful sushi chef, I would have voted 3/5 because the waitress was out for a smoke break whilst we were waiting for our credit card to be picked up. read more

Thai Nigiri is my favorite lunch spot downtown in Sandpoint. The food is always good and the prices are great. The service is fast and they always make sure you are well taken care of. The pride displayed through food preperation and presentation is a trademark of this restaurant.
