This restaurant specializes in Indian Hakka and Thai food…read more We had a small group of foodies who gathered for a luncheon together. We tried the following Dishes: Bombay Chicken, Hot Sour Soup, Zen Special Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice with Chicken on Top, Manchurian Fish, Hot Garlic Shrimp, Papaya Salad, Thai Green Curry Chicken, Steamed Chicken Momo, Crispy Ginger Beef I normally wouldn't choose to order soup, as I like to fill up on the heartier dishes but I was absolutely blown away by their Hot and Sour Soup. It's not overly sour and to me it was the perfect flavor profile. It was thick and loaded with tofu and chicken. The Bombay Chicken and Zen Special Chicken were both flavorful and unique chicken dishes. The crispy ginger beef was cooked to perfection; i'd definitely order it again. If you're looking for something tasty to drink their mango Lassi is superb. It's sweet and creamy. I loved it! The Thai Milk Tea was also a knock out. It was sooo good!!!

They also have a very nice dining room if you want to eat in. You may notice that The Big Zen seems very, very similar to The Zen, also in Whitby. The owners say there is no affiliation between the two, but it is obvious it is the same place, with the exact same menu and great quality food, just different owners. Highly recommended.

During Covid I noticed that she was no longer open so I assumed she'd fallen victim to the times we were in. Then one day, Yelp decided to send me a notification asking if I was looking for good Thai in my area. I figured I scroll through their suggestions and to my surprise and delight, up popped Malinee's! I wasted no time and hurried in to order her Mussaman Curry. It was as amazing as I remembered it. My husband went with the Chicken with Cashews. Both were delicious and I left with a happy belly. I was so happy that I could even look over some of the cleanliness issues I noticed. It was only a few weeks later when I went again. I went with the Mussaman Curry again but this time, my husband opted for the Beef Pa-Neng Curry. I was somewhat confused by what we were presented with. My Mussaman curry was watery and not as flavourful as it normally is. I'm used to this dish being thick, creamy and hearty but this was lack-lustre. I think the most disappointing thing was that the vegetables in both dishes appeared to have freezer burn and were just store-bought bagged frozen mixed vegetables. Most of the beans were completely inedible. It was very disappointing. Between the inconsistency in food quality and the lack of cleanliness gives me pause. It's such a shame because her Mussaman curry is normally on point but I'm not sure if I'll be back.

The pad Thai was super super yummy Probably one of the best I have tried in a long time The skewers were nice with the peanut sauce and the dumplings had chicken in them and came with a nice sweet Thai sauce The owner/cook was so friendly and super nice Price was super reasonable and portions were good I used to get my Thai food in Scarborough but now that I have found this gem of a Thai restaurant in Durham, I will certainly be going back for more

A lot of places were closed (on Monday) and we were getting really hungry when we passed Thai Delicious. It looked like a good option. The place was nicely decorated, although a bit sparse, and it was very clean. Most tables were available and we made it in time to take advantage of their lunch specials. My companion had the Basil Noodle with Beef and I had the Pad Si Ew with Chicken. Both dishes were served with two spring rolls. The flavours were good, although just a tad oversauced for my preference. The portions were just right for the price of $11.00. This was a good find. I'd go back.

This place truly cares about the quality and quantity of the food they serve. We got the Beef Panang Curry (14.95) and coconut rice (1.50), the vegetable Pad Woon Sen (12.95). We have really enjoyed their food in the past. Have even encouraged people to come. However their…read morecustomer service is horrible. We ordered from them recently, our order was not complete, and their only reply was that they would give us the rice free "next time ". It doesn't really seem to be making it right considering we paid for the rice in the first place. And that two people didn't get rice with their meals. So we ordered again, placed an online order on the website which said it opened at 11 AM. We were ordering for 14 healthcare workers. I received an email confirmation that my order was received , however when I arrived to pick up my order, they were closed. When they called an hour later to see if we still wanted my food, they didn't seem to care that I was not able to provide lunch for the 14 people who are waiting for the food at work. That we had to quickly scrounge to find lunch for these people. Their response was "oh sorry. I guess I'll cancel the order." I would assume that they would ensure they did not except online orders if they were not open. Especially if the website states they are open. How would I know, that they are not open? I emailed them to see how they want to rectify this and I have not received a reply. I am extremely disappointed and will not order from here again.

Oh where do I begin... I guess I'll start with the poor excuse for a salad roll. Paid $7 for 1 roll…read morethat was cut into small pieces, making it impossible to pick up and eat. The roll looked sad, filled with 95% iceberg lettuce and the rest cucumber, red pepper and 1 tiny piece of mango. It was supposed to have tofu in it as well but I was only able to find 1 micro piece in one of the tiny morsels of roll. The quality and effort put in to making this roll is the worst I've ever seen! Next I'll move on to their hot and sour soup... let me tell you something, this is NOT hot and sour soup! It's main ingredient is cabbage, and if that isn't weird enough it has the exact same taste and ingredients as the weight loss cabbage soup! Cabbage, celery, spinach, and tomatoes... Close your eyes and imagine a bland vegetable soup loaded with butter cabbage and a fist full of cayenne added to it, that is their version of what hot and sour soup is Finally I got the beef pad Thai... it wasn't the worst thing I've eaten but all it consisted of was a big clump of noodles, a few sad pieces of beef (which had the consistency of jerky), a couple pieces of tofu and eggs so finely chopped you couldn't even make out what they were... no bean sprouts, no onions, no peanuts or lime... no flavour!! The only positive thing to report is the food was so hot that you couldn't even eat it at first... At least they got temperatures right! Do yourself and your palette a huge favour and don't eat here! Trust me when I say this place makes over commercialized Thai express look like a Michelin star award winner!

We all ordered one dish and the prices range from $18 - $28 depending on the protein. I tried the Pad garlic pepper beef $21. I was very surprised to find out steamed rice (extra $3) is not served with your entree. My wife ordered the Thai basil chicken and mother-in-law had the chicken green curry. Overall the food portion is decent and flavours are alright. The thai ice tea was good as well. In terms of dining experience, we had to follow up several times to get our take out order and containers. I know this restaurant recently opened about 2 months ago so there's room for improvement. In terms of larger groups of 6 people or more the menu indicates a mandatory gratuity of 18%. I am not a fan of the mandatory gratuity and should be left to the client. If you're looking for some Thai cuisine with good portions and depth of flavours, then this place might be for you. Some may find this place on the pricier side.
