I said sorry and stepped outside. They continue to chat, I waited outside for around 8 more mins ( I was about to leave, now I think about it I should have). He washed my hair and used the towel to quickly dry it, immediately use the same towel to wrap around my neck. Since the towel was damp, that immediately triggered a rash on my neck. He cut my hair while my hair was dripping wet, dripping water wet. I was shocked and thought what? The whole time it felt like he was rushing me and rushing to the next appointment. Blow dried my hair quick. Since the customer is immediately lined up the next, When I left my hair still hasn't fully dried. I have to go back to the salon and ask him to use a blow dryer again because it felt damp. For what I paid $60 it felt unprofessional.

It was great and excellent cut!…read more BUT about a month ago I came in town to visit friends and went back to this place for just haircut, it's just an ok spot. The area for head lying down and washing/sink looks messy, unsure was not cleaned or just some scale-forming impurities that haven't been taken care after years. Then the haircut, feels like he's in a rush. I addressed just a little short for my front but turned out way too short. When I went back home noticed some missing spots on the two sides as well... For how much you pay for and how it turned out, it's a little disappointing. I guess it's common nowadays for paying high price and get an ok quality service. Just don't expect too much of it.

Terry is a master when it comes to his cutting technique. I've always had thick coarse hair that…read morecan get really heavy and shapeless. Terry has a way of cutting and thinning it out so that it lays smooth and creates a natural framing style for my face. It almost changes my texture as my hair has a tendency to fall into these beachy style waves, unless I blow dry it straight. Before those waves would be half straight/half wavy due to the weight of my hair. For my thick hair girls, I highly advise to try a Japanese hair cut once in your life and see if it has you coming back. Be sure to bring an inspirational photo to help show what you are looking for. The salon is located inside Ovation Salon off of Dallas PKwy (behind Sixty Vines). He plays very relaxing traditional Japanese ( I believe) music while he cuts.

Honestly really wanted to love this place because of all the good reviews and how close it was to…read moremy place. TLDR: came for digital perm and it didn't work. Came a second time and also didn't work. She blamed my hair and I wasted $200 to basically just get my hair completely damaged with 0 curl and be thrown shade by this lady. I made an appointment for a digital perm and was excited to get my hair done. The lady was nice enough but as she was curling my hair in the rolls, commented (borderline complained) on how much hair I had and how much chemicals she had to use. At the end, lets me know that my hair has a tendency to not curl and the perm will only last me 2-3 months compared to other people which would last 5-6 months. She gave me tips on how to style for volume and how to take care of it, including how I shouldn't blow dry and instead only towel dry. I was excited to see results and tipped $40 on top of $160 service. I walk out with my hair still very damp and get home to see that it's basically completely straight. So it didn't even last 1 hour, much less 2-3 months. I gave her a call to let her know that it was basically a failure asked if she could redo for me next month as I am headed out of town. She said ok, come in and I will redo. Due to scheduling issues, I had to push my appointment 1 hour later than I had planned, but I let her know a week ahead of time. I come in and thank her for having me, but she kept being passive aggressive talking about how her other clients there will have to wait extra because of me. Which wouldn't be an issue if she knew how to do a proper digital perm, and I wouldn't have had to come in a second time!! Anyway, she does my hair again but comments again at how much hair I have and how she has to use soo much ingredients or whatever to accommodate. At the end, she lets me know that if the curls don't come out properly, it's because of my hair type. No apologies or anything, just passive aggressive comments with lots of awkward silences. Also, if my hair isn't the type to "work" with a digital perm, isn't it a professional's job to let me know BEFORE the service that it may not yield the results I am seeking? Note: I have gotten a digital perm years ago and it came out perfectly fine at another salon???? I have a picture of how it ended up the 1st time (same day as perm) 2nd time (same day as perand what I had shown her I wanted.

Aalam Frisco: A Shameful Decline in Customer Service…read more After five years of loyalty to Aalam in Frisco -- including both my wife and daughter regularly getting their hair done there -- we are officially done with this salon. Today, my wife had to cancel her appointment due to illness in our home. Out of consideration for others, she chose not to risk bringing potential strep into the salon. Instead of receiving understanding or professionalism in return, she was met with a condescending call from someone who wasn't even a manager, telling her she would now have to prepay for all future appointments because she's canceled three times... in five years. Seriously? Three cancellations in five years -- one of which was to protect your staff and guests -- and this is how you treat longtime clients? There was no courtesy. No empathy. No professionalism. Just a cold policy delivered without tact or respect. A manager couldn't even be bothered to pick up the phone. Aalam has now lost both my wife and daughter's business. We'll be spreading the word. There are plenty of salons in Frisco that know how to treat people right -- and many of them are more affordable, too. Save your time, your money, and your dignity. Go elsewhere.

I asked for long layers and trusted his guidance. He ended up cutting about 5 inches, but the final result feels uneven and poorly blended--the layers are choppy and difficult to style.
