I love Pad Thai and found this location nearby me. I went in right at opening for lunch. I was greeted by a very friendly gentleman who took my take out order. I had the Chicken Satay app and Pad Thai lunch special. The food unfortunately was a huge letdown. Both the quality and taste were poor at best. The chicken satay was overcooked to the point of not coming off the skewer. The lettuce for the salad was hot and inedible. The Pad Thai noodles were at best something you could beat with a frozen dinner version. I was hopeful to find a new Thai take out place but this location will not be it. read more

Best Thai Food in All of Ventura County. I have tried a lot of Thai places and this is one is the best hands down! Won't disappoint you.

First time here and I will be back with people next time. I got the chicken pad Thai lunch special and Thai iced tea. The tea is really good! The chicken pad Thai is amazing, I'm gonna have to say best I've ever had. It has this particular spice to it that makes it so darn good. This once great Thai Restaurant has become mediocre at best. I have been going to Thai Kitchen for over 15 years, however, since the change in ownership 6 or 7 years ago, my visits have become much less frequent. The once incredible and authentic Thai food has become a thing of the past. Don't get me wrong, it's not horrible. But it's glory days left with the previous ownership. Thai Kitchen has become more of an American influenced Thai eatery. While it seems to be popular in town and with local patrons, I prefer authentic flavors and food. I will note that when I have been in and asked them to make it a specific way they are more than happy to accommodate me. The staff is very polite and friendly. The location is clean. Normally I would rate this eatery 3 1/2-4 stars. But compared to its early 5 star days, I must regretfully rate it a solid 3 stars. (again, it's not bad! It's just not great anymore). This place is different than some Thai places I have been. The taste of some of the meals doesn't taste typical. Even the me grab was weird. It didn't taste sweet like it was suppose too. Small family run Thai restaurant. Friendly, fast service and great food. We've been coming here for years and its so nice that the owners know us by name which isn't very common nowadays! We bring all our family, friends and out of town guest by the Thai Kitchen to show them how little ole Simi Valley can have some pretty good food too. Best bet meals are: Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Tom Kai Gai (coconut soup), and all the curries (jungle, green with eggplant, yellow and red). Thai Kitchen never disappoints. I often order to go and the food is always ready in time and absolutely delicious! My personal favorite is their green curry chicken. My kids love the special egg rolls, pad Thai, and fried rice dishes. There is something for everyone! The restaurant is super clean and they have super great lunch specials. I just came here for lunch today and I was very impressed. I was the first one in after they opened and the waiter did an amazing job. I sat in a booth near the tv to watch some news, relaxed, ate my food (which tasted delicious by the way), and got out of there right before it started getting busy. Came for lunch. Ordered: 1. Ice water, lunch special 'extra thai spicy' eggplant + chicken (includes eggroll and soup/salad...got the soup of the day which is vegetable soup) Price = great Service = Fast (had 2 tables at this place at ~2pm) Food = good For the price and service, this place is great. It didin't come out as spicy as what I consider 'extra thai spicy' would be however, additional hot sauces were provided when asked. The soup was simple and yum. The eggplant came in perhaps less than 5 minutes. Apart from the excessive oil that was all over my plate, it was good. I've been coming here for a few years now. The man that owns it is super friendly and I always feel welcomed when I eat in. I've been getting delivery lately and it's always early and on point. Very flavorful cashew nut chicken, world won ton soup and I love the Thai special egg rolls. Fresh and made in house it seems. I order everything as is and add dried chili to my order every time. I LOVE this place. The Thai food is very fresh and authentic. The man who runs the restaurant keeps up with all the orders, is extremely friendly and upbeat, and they even cater to different food allergies, which is good when you have to go out with a group of people who can't eat certain things. Definitely recommend this place ! The guy waiter (not sure if he is the owner) is very friendly and works hard. He was quick to refill water and checked up on us a few times and is pretty funny. Portion size is good :) my husband got the fried chicken and we could've shared it but we were hungry haha the sauce that came with it was really really good. The place is so clean and well maintained that I was impressed. They have all possible thai dishes. I had the pad thai lunch special with tofu.. To be honest it wasn't the best pad thai I have had. It had a strange smell to it, probably the oil used. The soup that came with it was really nice. may be the other dishes are better too but pad thai was very average. read more

The best Thai food we had in the last 2.5 years around Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley. We had been to herbs and spices in SM but we loved this more! Ordered spicy sour vegetable soup. It had all the veggies in a clear sour spicy water. Perfect for someone who doesn't want to have much but fills you up! We also ordered spicy green beans curry with added veggies and veg fried rice with fried tofu.. Amazing job on every dish and all the veggies are EXTREMELY FRESH! Ate here for the first time. I've had Thai curry from many restaurants and the Red Curry I had here was very disappointing. I never knew a curry could taste so bland. The bamboo shoots are more like strings... The pieces of chicken were large. Atleast the rice was good. The food seems to have potential and the staff is nice and friendly. We have been looking for a good Thai food place in Simi Valley for a while and glad to find Thai Kitchen. My daughter is highly allergic to peanuts, fish and eggs and eating at Thai places is usually a problem. This restaurant is always very careful with their order- and the owner himself gave us several options and made custom curry pastes for us. We have dinned there several times now and ordered food for take out- food always comes out fast and hot and very delicious. We loved their Jungle Veggie curry and spicy flat noodles. read more

Great food at fair prices. I eat here whenever I'm getting work done in Simi! You can add spicey levels to most of the noodle dishes. Don't go over "3" unless you're prepared to drink a gallon of water. It's delicious though. I usually go with the Pad Se Ew or the Tom Kah soup. Everyone is very nice too! read more

The food here is fresh, flavorful and inexpensive. Staff is always curtious and food is served hot and fresh. The only downside is the restaurant often smells of some kind of cleaning agent, not sure what it is, maybe its chemicals used in their fish tank. We got the #5 appetizer which was good. Kind of like steamed chicken dumplings. We were feeling brave and decided to try duck so we got the TK duck stir fry. It was pretty good. I couldn't get past the fact that I was eating those cute little guys that I take my kids to the park to feed. My husband said it was pretty good too but he would not order it again. I also ordered the yellow curry fish #50 which was delicious!!!!!! I would get that again for sure! Nom Nom. I've been here 2x so far. It's pretty good. Not my favorite Thai place, but for Simi, for the taste/price, it meets the mark. I give it 4 cuz I'm rounding up, and I know giving it 3 would bring down the overall rating, and it's not like it should get a 3. I've had the staples: spicy eggplant with tofu, fried (combination) and white rice, pad see ew (pad se ew) with beef (and broccoli is always automatically added), pork shumai (Chinese dim sum? lol), and one of the chicken green curry soups. Always dinner time, but always hot fresh tasting. Friend ordered some kind of flat fried triangles with meat and yellow stuff inside.... Hot, but tasteless? Hahaha, I didn't mind, but I guess it was pork, so that was a no-go for my friend. Always able to get a table, no problem (for now). Servers are always great, very attentive, smiling, and nice. Strange open front tho - not a fan of all current customers staring as I walk in, and not having one person up front to greet/take to seats. But I get that it's a much smaller place. Anyway, wish I could say this will be updated when I try more things but due to health concerns, I can only eat those few things. Delish! Must try location! Bills always run under $35 after tax, and plenty of leftovers for work lunch! read more
