Chicken Panang Curry
Robert P.

Top notch Thai Food in a very unassuming location. I love the little bar area where you can wind down after a day of work. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I am pretty sure it's a family business. The Penang was spot on, rich and flavorful. The fresh rolls were also excellent, wrapped tightly with care. Parking lot with plenty of spaces outside. I will be back.

I'm honestly shocked with how terrible the food we ordered was. Me and my mom were starving so we ate the food. It was edible but my goodness, the worst Thai food I've ever had. Me and my family eat a lot of Thai food.. it's our favorite. Trader Joe's frozen Thai is better. The Tom yum soup was clear with ZERO flavor, it had one carrot, one broccoli, one bean, and one onion... it also came with tofu when we asked for vegetable only. The Pad Thai had zero flavor and also came with tofu which we didn't ask for. Hoping this was a one time mistake because.. yikes.. not good.

Kai-ka Prao

Stopped here for lunch on Good Friday...didn't know what to try as it was my first time so I asked the server to ask the people in the kitchen to make me their "best dish"...he returned a little while later with Kai-ka Prao (ground chicken, green beans, peppers, onion). The dish was fantastic and more than made up for the dated interior decor.

Normally, pad Thai is my litmus test at a new restaurant. Safe. Predictable. But not today. Khao Moo Grob was calling my name, and I never say no to crispy crackling pork. Ever. Good choice. This dish absolutely delivered. Deeply comforting, rich, and soulful--the kind of plate that feels like it came from a home kitchen, not a menu. You don't make food like this without some kind of Thai grandma quietly running the show in the back. I was also talked into the curry puff, which they only make in limited quantities daily. The filling? Not my favorite. But the puff pastry itself? Buttery, impossibly flaky, and executed to perfection. Honestly, they could've filled it with sand and I still would've finished it. And look--Billerica isn't exactly known as a culinary hotspot. But Bang Na Thai is doing something right. If I'm anywhere near the area again, I'm absolutely coming back

I found the portions to be a good match the food prices. Prices were honestly very reasonable for high quality Thai food. Our food was made right away, hot and ready for us within 15 minutes of ordering. I was impressed and will be ordering from here again!

It was also, apparently, less salty, presumably for the same reason. The amount of kimchi in the "sample" was so plentiful as to almost fill up the mini cup we used for takeout. They have a large selection of vegetarian and vegan food, as well as some gluten free items, though they lack the staff and kitchen size to accommodate celiacs, so it's really more of use for people on elimination diets or with poor digestive capabilities. The owner had prior training in Italian cuisine, which is the reason such food is on the menu, and while neither my father nor I had occasion to try it, it is apparently a passion of the chef's, and the shared discussion of their mutual interest in Italian cooking may be the reason my father was given a free "sample" of kimchi, which was larger than the paid order of kimchi at most other restaurants. The food portions, in general, are massive, with the leftovers of an order of wonton soup not fitting in a to-go canister, with other orders being similarly large. Their jasmine tea is unusual for its slight fruity flavor, and ability to "overbrew" without becoming bitter, instead maintaining its delicate flavor. Each table has condiments, which in addition to including the "normal" chili crisp, and fish sauce often found at Asian restaurants that provide table condiments, have the more western pepper grinder, as well as garlic salt. Curiously, there is no "normal" salt as often found at western restaurants, though bottles of sriracha are found at every table. Perhaps the garlic salt and sriracha are the restaurant's "unique twist"?

Still in my rotation, and I still mostly stick with the sizzling hot items, alternating among…read morechicken, shrimp, and fish. Still excellent, still sweet (though now more noticeably spicy too), and still important to remind that the dishes here are not necessarily attempting authentic cuisine of specific regions (even though specific dishes are named), but more of a freestyle approach. The wings have improved in recent visits. More plump, more crisp, more juice, more flavor. Still good value. Still a little weak on the service (more about being young, unfocused and lacking initiative than anything approaching rudeness). Still highly recommended.

You can tell a lot of heart goes into the cooking here. On top of that, the staff is wonderful -- friendly and genuinely welcoming, which always makes us feel valued as guests. Unfortunately, I have to rate my current experience four out of five stars due to an issue that significantly impacted our meal. While we were eating, there were cockroaches crawling on the wall near us, which was extremely unsettling and completely tainted the experience. It made it very difficult to continue enjoying our food, despite how delicious it was. I say this with sincerity: if the restaurant can fully address the cleanliness concerns, including any cockroach or rodent issues, I truly believe this place can return to being a solid five-star restaurant. The food and the people are already there -- it just needs that final, crucial piece to match the quality of everything else.

Though they advertise they serve both Thai and Vietnamese cuisine, you won't find boat noodle soup or khao soi here for Thai food. For Vietnamese noodle soups, they do offer some of the other popular ones like bun bo hue, bun rieu, and bo kho. Here, they also have rice plates and vermicelli bowls too. I typically get their bun bo hue and it's good every time. Service is pretty quick and staff is always nice.
