I love Thai food and I love this place! I have been so unimpressed with many Thai restaurants lately. Thai House will not disappoint if you are looking for quality! They do not cut corners with their dishes. For example: Their curries are made with coconut milk- for real. Not watered down with added oils like so many places do! Also, they don't skimp out on chicken and basil like many other places do. Their Phad Thai is loaded with flavors and extras that most any Thai restaurant doesn't take the time to do anymore! I used to work at a Thai restaurant that used to be good. Sadly, it went downhill like so many do. This place will not disappoint and you'll get your money's worth. I am in love with Thai house! My family loves to stop here for lunch while we shop in Mount Vernon, and I am happy to say I have never been disappointed by anything they've served me! My usual picks are the red chicken curry with rice (spicy and delectable with tons of sauce - just the way I like it!), and chicken Pad Thai (what you'd normally expect, but definitely on par!) The service is friendly but isn't always quick, but I take this as somewhat of a good thing since I always know I'm about to indulge in a home cooked meal! The panang curry and pad Thai are the best I've had in a long time. However they charge $3 for rice which is a total rip off. Word of advice: buy yourself a box of minute rice for $1.50 to save yourself from being robbed. Aside from that, this restaurant is great! read more

Went here for a late lunch and ordered the chicken satay, Thai house dumplings, and chicken phad Thai. The food was on point and worth the prices. The waitresses were attentive and filled up your water promptly unlike most Asian restaurants. Definitely coming back here again read more

The food isn't bad. I like the extensive menu and the beer selection. The Decor is nice and the Resturant was clean. The duck was the best thing I tried but the rest if the food was just ok. The papaya salad was what I was really looking forward to but I was really let down. The trout wasn't fresh I know what freezer burn tastes like. My server was very friendly and attentive. This used to be my go to thai place in MV before I moved. Always super friendly with great service. The lunch specials were always affordable, big, and delicious. I love their pad thai, very authentic. With the pickled radish, small cubed tofu, and tamarind based sauce. Their peanut sauce is always a favorite too, always ordered a side with white rice. Their curries and stir fries were standbys as well. Do check out this place if you're in MV, a solid meal. read more

Got pad thai takeout tonight and it was basically one congealed piece of rice noodles and not spicy even though I requested spice. They usually add shredded cabbage and carrots on the side and these were missing. It made the blah dish a bit more bland. I like to mix them in for some crunch. The pho was good, as was the green curry. We were the only people in there at the time (showed up at that strange post lunch/pre dinner no-man's land). The upside was that we got outstanding service, the woman helping us seemed kind and capable, I have little doubt that our service would have been lacking had the place been packed. The inside of the place is a bit of a cross from a Tex-Mex steak house and the last touristy spot on the way to Mt Everest. A cross of tan colored walls with adobe textures, giant forks and spoons, goddesses of compassion, and prayer flags adorn the place, all to the subtle burble of the mandatory fish tank by the front door. Please understand dear reader, this is no knock on the choice of decor, but rather a fond musing of what the eye was allowed to look at while we waited for our tasty food to show up. You know what, we were surprised at this place. It was really quite good. There's not much to the atmosphere, or ambiance, and to be honest it was pretty empty when we went. It's not upscale by any stretch of the imagination. But the food was quite good, and the service staff was attentive and kind. The prices are reasonable. Ordered lunch to go on my break, I appreciated the timeliness. However, the portion of the phad thai I ordered was extremely small, I was shocked when I saw pictures of other people's orders. I usually order 4-5 stars depending on the restaurant, it's understandable every restaurant has it's own system, but I didn't expect a 4 star phad thai to taste like it had no spice what so ever. :( I will probably to seek to serve my Thai cravings elsewhere. read more

This place has really great phad thai. It's really the only thing I ever get at Thai restaurants so I usually have a strong opinion. This last time I went there, there wasn't enough spice on my food. I asked for 2 stars because last time I had 3, it was too much. I like to enjoy my food without my tastebuds and mouth being assaulted. One of my coworkers ordered 5 starts and he said that it wasn't enough and that it was barely spicy. My other coworker said that hers wasn't spicy enough either, but she ordered medium spice. So I would surmise from this that if you really like spicy, you should ask for extra or to put it on yourself. They do offer a tray that has a liquid and power on it. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone that really likes Thai food. It's on the main street running through downtown, so it is quite convenient. read more

The rating was tempting enough for us to try out this thai place . It's a cozy restaurant in the roadside that is easily accessible and there are good parking options nearby .On a weekend lunch time we could get good seating for 5 people without much wait . The menu options are elaborate . We ordered spring rolls ( Thai ) and crab wrapped on crispy covering as starters . The crab was delicious and the veg spring roll was a good option for vegetarians . The Penang curry ( chicken ) even with a 3.5/ 5 spice level was subtle and unremarkable . The green curry had raw vegetables in very bland coconut gravy . The pad Thai noodles had nothing worth mentioning about . Service was average ; to be elaborate had to request for cutleries/sauces etc and wait for a long after each request, looks like the place is understaffed for the amount of customers they have . This might not be a place I would visit again for thai food craving . Once done , forever done . read more

The food was great and the atmosphere was nice. Really I would give another half star if I could. The only problem which I got my husband to laugh at instead of walk out because of (which he wanted to do), was the waitress. There was 2 and maybe the other one was better but we don't know. Our waitress scowled and made us uncomfortable the whole time. She was prompt which was nice and attentive to my husband's beer but didn't seem to care about any of our requests. I asked for a dessert menu (I like dessert first), and she actually kind of grunted at me before telling me I can't have it until after our meal. First time visit, chicken pad Thai was great! I ordered 5 on spice level from 1-5, wasn't that spicy, but was still delicious. My girlfriend got the orange chicken stir fry, which was also tasty, minus the veggies. I tried the spicy noodles with tofu and my brother had the yellow curry with tofu - both were delicious! 2 downsides: desserts and drinks (like Thai tea) were not marked if they are vegan friendly. Landed up too hungry here only because we found a parking in the lane during Skagit valley time. had to wait a little wee long. yumm food compensated though. Had their seafood platter and satay. CRAB RANGOONS were super delicious. We only went on to order another plate of platter. Duck soup was completely filling and the meat succulent. I had orange chicken for mains. Though I have a palette for punchy citrus, didn't like this one much. Phad thai was loved by my friends. Their homemade coconut ice-cream which we ordered twice was a tasty delight and that completed our meal. Overall, it was endless hogging for 2.5 hours. Delightful restaurant full of fresh flavors and aromas. My wife loved her meal, even on a subsequent take-out. The Swimming Rama for me was pungent and rich and full of crunch from the bean sprouts drenched in peanut sauce. It's hard for me to believe this place has been in business for 20 years, since the owners, though trained in Vail, CO, have no concept of vegan food. There are several options on the menu that are marked as vegan. I ordered a designated vegan, rama dish with peanut sauce, spinach and tofu. Hours later, I have indigestion from the tofu because it was cooked on a grill saturated with meat grease. I ate part of the meal anyway because I was so hungry, and then mentioned the heavy meat flavor to the server. She asked, "Oh, are you vegan?" I said "yes" and she replied, "I wish you had told me! The peanut sauce has half and half in it and they make the brown rice with butter!" Horrified, I pointed out that the menu clearly lists the dish as vegan. "The owners are just learning what vegan is," she replied. "They're from another country." I stammered that I'm not only vegan, but lactose intolerant, and she said, "I sure hope you don't get sick! Next time, be sure to mention you're vegan." Needless to say, there will not be a next time. read more

The only thing that has it going is good texture and thick wide noodle. 2 star . Trout Tamarin $13.95 - on the last visit, the trout was season just right with the right crispy.
