Such a great hole in the wall Thai restaurant! I love when I make my way over to Thai Evergreen! I used to live in the apartments behind Walmart, so it was a short walk here, but I still firmly believe that they have the best green green (with chicken) that you can get in the whole Utah Valley, and possibly even Salt Lake County, and it's so cheap compared to most places! They also have really nice, fresh and crisp spring rolls, and when I come here, I usually get an order of both the mentioned items. I love their Thai iced tea as well, and don't worry, it is herbal for all you non-caffeinated people that are all over Utah County! TE curry has appeared to have a taste which makes me think it has been frozen. Watery not creamy. Vegis overcooked & lacking generous portion. Sticky rice is good. Decent portion size. We were spending the night in Orem and wanted some Thai take-out for the family. We often choose Thai for take-out so we are familiar with our favorite dishes. We ordered Paneang Curry with beef, Orange Chicken and Pas Kee Mao with chicken. All was delicious! My son commented that the orange chicken didn't taste artificial, which is great. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao medium spicy and it was certainly in keeping with what I am used to. My daughter thought the Panaeng was a bit too spicy, but I liked it. I would certainly order take-out from here again. I can't order on dine-in but it has your typical tacky Thai atmosphere with bright color and fake flowers. Being that I am from the Bay Area in California, I would like to think that I've had my fair share of delicious Thai cuisine and Thai Evergreen definitely impressed me! I was visiting Utah and I couldn't resist my craving for Thai food. I looked up many Thai food places and saw all the great reviews this place had! We got the Thai iced tea, pad thai, chef's curry and the mango with sticky rice dessert, and it was all so tasty. I also really appreciated the generous serving of rice that came with the curry. A young man served us and he was efficient and hard working. He knew exactly when to bring out the dessert without me having to ask him. I love Thai Evergreen. It's one of the best Thai places I've eaten and the people are so friendly. I'm not fond of the mushrooms and over-abundance of basil at most restaurants. The mushrooms are just right and the basil is given in appropriate amounts. Plus they give a lot of rice per order. I always ask for an extra rice just in case but can never finish though I'm sporting a 6'7" bod. All in all a great place for foodies to sit or takeout. PS get the Mango Rice. Honestly, best thing about this place was the service because I as quick as my interaction was for getting take out it was awesome. Woman who helped me check out was very friendly and genuine. Amazing staff. Food wise I ordered the Drunken noodles with the spring rolls and cream cheese wontons. It was good overall. My problem is always that I want more spice and flavor with my drunken noodles, but I feel as if that's more of a Utah thing rather than restaurant specific. Still okay though. I did really like the spring rolls. Other reviews I've seen complained that they come with a sweet oil peanut sauce and not the classic. I was impressed with their take on the sauce though, enjoyed it thoroughly. The cream cheese wontons are such that have a mix of things in the filling which threw me. I was expecting the pure cream cheese filling so I was a little disappointed, but they were good. Solid Thai food. It was the most interesting chicken satay I have had ... it was sliced in a peanut sauce vs on a stick ... yet pretty dang good. Most of the time, I order to-go from this place when I'm in a rush, but want Thai food. The staff are polite, but don't talk very much. I've had multiple of their curries and their pork dumplings. Both their curries and the dumplings are delicious! The curries aren't quite as high quality as Thai Drift, but it's still yummy :) I don't think it's as pricey as Thai Drift either, though. The waitress was very kind and quick but the Pad Thai was the worst I've ever had. It tasted like it wasn't made with fresh ingredients and had vegetables in it that didn't go well in it. I think she forgot the eggs. We asked if they could make the Spicy Prick King mild and it was very hot, so they remade it and it was still really hot. Same vegetables were in both dishes. Were I judging only the food, this would probably be a three: nothing stood out here as better than other Thai restaurants, not worse by any means, but not particularly better. So the food is good. For me, though, the fact that there was no music playing loudly in the background made up for any lack of ambience. When I go out for Thai, I look for King Bhumibol. Who is King Bhumibol you ask? King Bhumibol, my friends, is & was many things (more on this later), but in this instance he is immediate validation you're about to eat real Thai food. And ahhh yes. As I entered and peered around the serenely empty restaurant, there he was in all his glory. His visage gazing down on me reassuringly. You see it takes a lot to make great Thai food but this is certainly step 1. The step 2s and 3s can be argued ad infinitum but for this place the recipe is simple: quaint decorations, a simple menu, fast & friendly service that's not overbearing, and absolutely DELICIOUS food. I had the pork spring rolls and Pad Kee Mao with extra chicken, spicy level 4 out of 5. I was hungry. Portions: Huge! The spring rolls are a batch of 4 rather than a usual pair, and the Pad Kee Mao was enormous! And no the spring rolls weren't just 4 smaller rolls. And I know I got extra chicken but believe me, it was big anyway. Which was perfect, because as stated - I was hungry. Food: Guys, it's legit. 5 stars. No, this place isn't going to earn a bunch of Michelin stars but that's not why you're eating here. This place is beyond fairly priced, the portions are huge, and the food was amazing. What more do you want?! All in it cost $21 with tip. If you're in the area and you want Thai, or even just a good hot plate at a fair price, just go here. You won't regret it. *Review is over. I'm rating this place for the Massaman, the Tom Ka Gai, and the mango sticky rice . . . and I say their Massaman was awesome. The Tom Ka had a nice lime and cilantro kick to it, but the Massaman was tremendous. The sauce wasn't too soupy or too thick, the flavors were perfectly seasoned (not too mild, not too overbearing), and the you could taste everything--the coconut, the peanut, the chicken, and the cashew. Why not five stars? The mango rice wasn't particularly sticky (more soupy), and the normal rice was dry and old(ish). But their prices are good and I'm craving that Massaman. My food was quite good, although the top spice level #5 still wasn't that spicy. One of the others I was with, who ordered after me, asked for authentic. That may have been the way to go. Pretty legit. I haven't gone to any other Thai places in Utah, but I'm glad I started with this one. I came across this place by accident while on my way to Walmart. I couldn't believe they were still open, it was 9:35pm. The decor was beautiful, the hours and location are extremely convenient, and the food was to "Thai" for haha. If you didn't get what I just said, the food was delicious. Oh and pretty cheap, everything on the menu was $10 & under. The portions are on the smaller side, seems like each entree is for 1 maybe 2 people. We ordered: Green Curry, Fried Rice, and Pork Pot Stickers.
