The absolute _Best_Thai_ in Amsterdam! I have been to many thai restaurants in amsterdam, and this is the one i keep coming back to. The staff is very ! friendly, the atmosphere is excellent. The open kitchen is on the left when u enter the restaurant. The ladies in the kitchen work very hard, and the food they produce is just top notch. You can reserve a table (dont forget, as it is very busy most of the times!) or order food to take home. No delivery unfortunately. In Amsterdam for work and this place was close to our hotel so we decided to give it a try! Right off the bat the service was great - the server was really helpful in navigating the menu and helping with suggestions. The ambiance is cozy and warm and we felt very comfortable the whole meal. Our party landed on two orders of Pad Suey (they use much smaller noodles than we are use to) but everyone agreed it was just a good! I had the red vegetable curry with rice. Very tasty...it also felt a little more healthy (less rich) than I am use to from the U.S. Would come here again when in town next! read more

Do not get the Thai tea here. I watched them literally pour 1/4 black oishi tea from a bottle and called it thai tea. What an up charge for just store bought tea... Then I asked to order a fried egg and the waiter told me it would cost 2.50 and the cooks didn't have time to make the fried egg... The pad thai tasted good but was disappointed and felt deceived on their version of "Thai tea". read more

Been back every year at IBC time since being introduced to this resturant. Food is incredibly fresh and flavorful and basically cooked in front of you or at least in plain site. Its not far from the Okura where my company stays every year and I always "sneak" away for some of it. This visit I had Spring Rolls, Pad Thai, and Chicken Fried Rice- I packed and left with approx 50% of what I was served boxed up, and it made for a great late nite meal at the hotel. The Pad Thai was superb, crunchy veggies, fresh onion, and egg with the right amount of meat, the noodles had justest right amount of firmness. Fantastic. Rice- Same, superb. Spring rolls, excellent. The portions are generous, (and Im an American) and I've never left hungry. Bring cash - If you are in Amsterdam its worth the walk, ride, or cab to try it. read more

I love it. My friend had mixed opinions. It was too spicy for her but many things are. It' a small place so it smells great and really works up your appetite. The kitchen it right up front. It's clean and fun to watch the cooks at work. I've tried a couple of the vegetarian dishes and always enjoyed them. I've always liked the coconut ice cream served in a coconut shell but the last time we ordered it looked old and freezer burned like it had been sitting in the back of fridge for months. When we pointed it out they were quite nice, and apologized saying it was the last one but didn't charge us for it. read more

First--I am not comparing this to actual Thai food, I came here fully expecting subpar interpretation of mass produced Thai food for Westerners--it is awful by that standard. It is awful by the standard of what I would expect to be served on a discount Asian airline. Expect parang curry without sauce. Or pad Thai without peanuts or spring rolls without any filling...it's the Thai food equivalent of what can be microwaved. Here's the best part--when we told them it wa bad. They said it was my problem. They should apologize the the kind people Thailand for making their food so bad. read more

Best, most authentic Thai I have had in Amsterdam so far. Easy for a vegetarian. Everything I have had has tons of flavor. Sometimes it is more sweet or spicy than other times but I just specify and it's perfect. The ladies who cook are all very sweet. As with many places in Amsterdam, it can take what feels like forever to get your food but it's worth the wait. read more

Nice Thai place in De Pijp. Service and the cooks were great. The ladies constantly checked on the food's flavor while they cooked. They put a lot of effort into the two dishes we ordered, the pad Thai and the beef curry. The result? Pipin' hot and fresh but too salty. I just wanted to keep drinking something after the meal. The spicy rating should be adjusted by removing a star in the current system. Again, too salty. read more

Came here on the recommendation of other yelpers. Can't say that my experience was as good as theirs. Staff were friendly enough but we found the food way over seasoned with salt and pepper. I was not expecting the use of vermicelli for pad noodle dishes. The batter to fish ratio was way too high and could hardly taste the fish. Normally good food, however, the has been getting service particularly awful. They take too many takeout orders and accept too many people walking in and staff is so reduced that wait times are extended to over an hour. We were staying very close to this restaurant and decided to eat there on our first night in Amsterdam - fantastic thai. Beef massaman was lovely, as was the pad thai and red chicken curry. Special mention for the chicken and prawn spring rolls and satay chicken, totally delicious. Reminded us of our favourite thai restaurant at home. Super fast service but we were there early, not sure what it would be like when the place was full. read more

My boyfriend and I went here for dinner last night and it was some of the best Thai food we have ever had. What we ordered: Tom Kha soup (they made it veggie for us), Shrimp Salad, Pad Thai Veggie and Plaa Pad Namprik-Phauw (Fish with curry sauce, paprika and onion). It was all really delicious and we couldn't stop saying how good it was throughout the meal. We requested it spicy and they made it with the perfect amount of heat. The waiter also brought us some chili oil (didn't need the oil but it was a great flavor) just in case we needed to add more. He also told us that if it was already too spicy for us to let him know and they would make it again for us (appreciated but not needed). All of the food was full of flavor and not oily. We will definitely be heading back here for more! read more

The food here ranges from very solid to unbelievably delicious. The Tom Ka Khai soup in particular is a bowl of absolute lusciousness and will make you fall in love with Thai food all over again. Chicken satay are a little more delicious than average. One of the house "speciality" dishes, wild boar with red curry, was very good, and chock full of veggies, although my hubs found the boar itself a little tough. On another visit we tried green curry chicken as a comparison, and it had far fewer veggies and, perhaps as a result, not as complex or deep a flavor as the red curry boar. Spicy beef salad was a bit different that I am accustomed to, being made with ground beef rather than sliced, but the flavor was good, if a tiny bit too spicy for me. Tell them your spice level, because they work hard to then customize to you. The kitchen is right up and front and you can see, hear and smell all the cooking - a wonderful appetizer! The ladies running the kitchen could not be sweeter or more impressive with their works, and the server is also very friendly and remembered us after our first visit. This is *just* the kind of place I wish I had in my neighborhood, and would come here every week or two if I did. Stop by and enjoy. read more

Loved this place! Came here because we were nearby & based on previous yelp reviews. Delicious!!! It's a small restaurant...only 2 cooks (that are right in front of you) and one server. Lots of people coming in for take away. If you come with a larger party it might take a bit to get everyone's meal but it's totally worth it. Conflicted on how to rate this place... Is it good Thai food? 3 stars. Is it good food? Maybe 4 stars. I got the chicken and shrimp rolls to start and then the chicken pad Thai. The rolls - they come out right when they are ready, so wait for them to cool a bit. The rolls were good. The sweet chili dipping sauce was on the bland side and very one dimensional (basically just sweet). The pad Thai was just meh. First they don't use the right noodles. Second it was on the saltier side and once again, one dimensional flavor. I was missing the subtle undertone flavors that make pad Thai great. Not sure if it had chopped peanuts or bean sprouts, if it did, it was not noticeable. At first I thought maybe my Americanized palette was used to Americanized Thai food. But then I thought of my trip to Thailand - food in Thailand has even more fuller flavors. Maybe I was spoiled living in California all my life and need to adjust to Amsterdam. Also, I asked for hot sauce and they gave me this salty liquid with peppers. It was good but wanted something more like sambal or sriracha, but my fault. I should have asked if they had other hot sauces. The hot sauce made it better, but also saltier. read more

My friend and I were starving and really glad we found this place not too far from where we stayed. It was just opening time and they were quite busy. I took that as a good sign. We did have to wait a bit, as they had many orders for pick up. When our food finally came we were pleased. It was delicious. The service was okay at first as my apetizer came pretty fast, a tom yam soup. But then the main dishes took forever to make. I estimate we were waiting for more than an hour in total for those. When they finally came, 2 curries, one green and one red, they turned out very bland and not the usual level of spiciness that I'd expect from a Thai restaurant. We went here during the week and it wasn't real busy, only about half the tables were occupied. We ordered appetizers, soup and a main, and the timing on the dishes was perfect. The soups I thought were spicier then the 1 star heating rating, while the mains were less spicy then the menu lead you to believe, but despite this all the food was delicious. i'm soo happy there's a yummy thai place in my hood! my litmus test for a good thai restaurant is their pad thai. i'm happy to say their pad thai is delicious. the sauce is wonderful and squeeze a lime all over that and it's even better. i also got the basic thai salad with chicken. it wasn't the typical green papaya salad but just a lettuce salad with veggies and chicken. the salad itself is nothing special, they use iceburg. BUT... the dressing on it is out of this world. i was almost going to ask if i could buy some of it. it turned an ordinary salad into something unforgettable. i like the coziness of this place. it's not large but not to small with a wood interior and exterior. they have a full bar too! the kitchen is up front right when you walk in which is very smart. you're immediately hit with the fragrance of thai food. i wouldn't say this place is good for large groups but for 2-6 ppl tops. the staff and chefs are all very friendly. when i'm in the mood for thai and i don't want to venture to far from home this is the place. they also do a lot of to go orders. i made sure to get a to go menu for those nights you just want to oink out at home :) read more

Friendly staff, took us without a reservation at peak dinner hours on a Saturday night. Unfortunately the service is incredibly slow- you can see into the kitchen so you'll notice they have a ridiculous number of take out orders. That's all fine but that plus the lack of staff (one waiter for the entire restaurant from 6:30-8pm!) makes it way too slow. 5-10 mins for a menu, 20 mins to take our order another 30-40 mins for food to come out. Then the food was ok, not mind blowing at all. Under spiced. Saw food come out piping hot- our red curry did but the spring rolls were lukewarm. The latter was better than the former though.
