Beef with garlic and peppers. Yellow curry with prawns. Fried rice. Spring rolls.

Been here twice (I'm from America). Beef that good. I dreamed of this simple beef stir fry so tender and flavorful. Son of chef sooooo personable. I remember the first time we came he gave us off the beaten path recommendations too. Small walk up some steep stairs. Definitely make a reservation online!

Stumbled upon this restaurant on a trip to Amsterdam and had a delicious meal. The pad Thai was a little sweet for me but overall everything was great and I would go back. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

Steamed Fish in garlic and chilies, Thai Basil Chicken

I was really excited to try Krua Thai based on Yelp reviews and a strong recommendation from a local shop owner I chatted up the day before. Ordered the Tom Yum Goong soup, Thai Basil Chicken and steamed Fish in chili and garlic sauce. The soup was a complete miss. It lacked key ingredients/flavors I'd expect to find in Tom Yum soup, like lemon grass, galangal and kaffir lime leaves. At € 9 per bowl it is not something I could recommend. The Thai Basil Chicken and Steamed Fish were very tasty. I'd love to try a few other Thai restaurants in Amsterdam for comparison but simply don't have time. The staff are super friendly and attentive. The restaurant has 2 floors. The stairs to the second floor are very steep and narrow, so ask for a seat on the first floor if you have a problem climbing stairs. I honestly don't know how the restaurant staff can go up and down those stairs all night. It is a very busy place and opens at 5pm. We didn't have a reservation but did get a table for two when they opened. I'd suggest making a reservation if you want to try them out.

A great Thai experience. The staff were SOOOOOOOO NICE. I loved them. The menu is huge and everything my friends and I ordered was good. We walked away stuffed. Things to note: 1. The stuff chicken may sound like a good idea to try but it has no taste. 2. A pitcher of water is 2.50. 3. Medium spice = no spice. So if you like spicy, just ask for full spicy (which still isn't that spicy).

Simply the best Thai food I have ever had. The service is very attentive. The owner spent time with us and explained the various ingredients used in Thai cooking. The Chef told not left the sauces mix on plate. Eat each one separately so you can taste the ingredients. He was right. Have the Chef or the waiter make recommendations based on your personal preferences. You must have the special Pepper Leaf appetizer... very fresh and unique.

Great place. Service is definitely great, our waiter was very polite, smiling and proficient on any dish. Food was super nice, and they ask you weather you are ok with super spicy and they would turn down the heat if you want to. My red chilly chicken with coriander was great and so the fish cakes. Thai beer as you wish and anything else from the bar. It is a very tiny 2 floors shop so you'd better reserve in advance. The chef, looking Thai, passed by to check if we were all fine with food. Nice touch. Not cheap, but it is smack in the city center. I will get there again for more :)

Signature Appetizer - well worth the try :-)

Krua Thai Classics is a solid recommendation if you're looking for authenic yet still surprising Thai meals. We were fortunate enough to get a table on a walk in and were treated to imho some of the best food I've ever been exposed to. The tom ka gai soup alone was an explosion for the taste buds. Next time in Amsterdam, I promise we'll stop by again and make a reservation.

Amazing!! The chef was divine as was our food. He fed us the first bite, with his fingers of the most interesting appetizer. Go!!!! You won't regret it!'

Were amazed by this carrot butterfly

The appetizer Meang Kham was very good. Everything else we had was mediocre (Panang Curry, Drunken Noodles are two I remember).

A really interesting appetizer is the Meang Kham, which has six leaves with a mixture of coconut, lime, shrimp, and other spices wrapped on top.

Our first time visited this restaurant and the overall experience was amazing! The quality of their food was excellent as in the flavor, authentic taste, temperature control and fresh ingredients. Their stir fried crispy pork belly with Kai lan was super good. We could not stop eating while waiting for our masamam curry to be served. The pork belly was roasted with smoky flavor and was really crispy blended well into the brown sauce with some little spicy chili flavor. It was just an awesome dish and goes well with white rice. Their masamam curry was rich and creamy with coconut . The beef was tender, the potatoes was soft and well cooked just at the right time management . With some peanuts in the curry made the entire dish super delicious! We enjoyed their food a lot!. Their service was great and staff was attentive to the customers' request. The moment you walked into this restaurant you know you made the right choice for Thai cuisine. Highly recommended for you to have a try if you are visiting Amsterdam city center. You immediately think you are another city then in Amsterdam. The staff was extremely friendly and had a very good attitude with us arriving so late. Being a group that enjoys family style, we needed Ho ordering a hodge of food. I will say the group favorite was the curry. This was everyone's vote but my own. I personally liked the chicken lo mein. It definitely shined over the mall Chinese food I had a few weeks ago. The Thai was my second favorite and it was a second favorite for the table as well. Very flavorful with a good hot and sweet vibe with the additional compliments available. I would go here again if it was the only thing open. Nothing was WOW... - Forever Foodie- Ela

We were walking towards another restaurant during a rainy afternoon and suddenly we passed by this hidden gem that looked super cozy and also the food looked perfect for the occasion, by that I mean steaming hot. We didn't think twice and quickly asked if there was room for two, which we ran with lucky bc the place is very small but two people were just paying to leave. We were promptly sat and attended. The food came out fast, steaming hot, generous portions. The chicken curry had an addictive ingredient bc it didn't matter that it was spicy I couldn't stop eating it! The vegetables were perfectly tender and tasty. The meat was juicy and cut into perfect bite chunks. Im not exaggerating when I say I had the most delicious chicken curry I've ever had in my life. My husband had the beef with garlic and white pepper which is onions. Also incredibly good. Both dishes came with a side of rice. At the end we were stuffed and super happy! We are a couple and we were looking for a nice place to have some Thai food on a Saturday night. When we entered asking if there was a table for two available, we were told to wait 5 minutes. So, we waited outside. Another couple were leaving, so we chatted to them about their meal and we asked what they would recommend. After a few minutes, we went inside again and we were aggressively waved away and told they were closed. I was left quite shocked and confused. At most, we had maybe been 7-8 minutes, but also nobody had mentioned to us that the table was ready, or not ready. So, I don't know what happened here. But, I was mostly surprised at the anger and aggressiveness, as if we had done something horribly wrong. I posted this on TripAdvisor, and instead of receiving an apology, I was accused of lying. Why would I make this up? So, I repeat. Do not go here. It's not authentic Thai food, the staff are dreadful (I have been to Thailand, and people are not like that there), and if you want to be aggressively waved away for absolutely no reason at all, well this is your place! We were quite upset by this, and also very hungry. Thankfully, there are many better options for Thai food, and we went to Thaise Snackbar Bird nearby. The staff were fantastic there, and chatted to us quite a lot. We told them about what happened (and they didn't accuse us of lying). Little Thai Prince (maybe replace the word "Prince" with something else). Also, I want to add that on Tripadvisor they respond to everyone's negative reviews with more rude responses and denials, instead of simply apologizing. I have been to Thailand, and I certainly never met anyone like this there. Shocking people, and a shocking place. -100 stars, if possible. It almost ruined our night. They should have paid me to eat there and I would have still said no. So glad we didn't actually get to eat any of their disgusting food.
