I went back to this place again with my friends! They LOVED everything we ordered. We ordered beef drunken noodles, green curry, coconut soup and squid in red curry sauce. The rice comes in the traditional (?) Thai silverware and it adds flavor to the experience. I had experience here that was bad sometimes so it was a hit or miss. Royal Thai served us a good dinner. In addition to their regular square and rectangular tables, they have two large round tables. We were seated at one as a party of four. Unfortunately, these two tables are placed on opposing walls opposite each other. You don't get the problem u til people try to get between them to enter, leave, or serve. It's a very real problem and makes for an uncomfortable dinner. The food was good, not great. My daughter and I had a very good noodle dish that was appropriately spicy. My son-in-law had three huge prawns in a dish that he said was delicious. My wife had a fried rice dish with pineapple which was, frankly, very bland. While I would not avoid Royal Thai, neither would I seek it out over other restaurants available in the immediate area. read more

We had krakow with chicken, krakow with pork, Tom kha chicken, spring rolls, fried rice and every dish was good. I am GF and they were knowledgeable and able to make mine GF. Surprisingly good Thai food! We were looking for some international cuisine while in Amsterdam and most places were closed or closing. We entered kind of late but did not feel rushed or pushed in any way. The atmosphere was nice and pretty much what I've come to expect out of Thai places: looks good but with a little bit of a cheap feeling. I did not get a cheap feeling from the food, however. Chicken and sauce were on point and the portions were such that my girlfriend and I weren't left wanting for more or taking anything with us. VERY delicious! Seated right away and the food was some of the best Thai food I have ever had. Mike and I decided to do a little exploring around Amsterdam and weren't sure what we should have for dinner. Since we both love some good thai food we stopped in here. We had some chicken satay to start and it was awesome. A great blend of spicy and sweet. I followed that up with some spicy noodles. They had a lot of flavor and made me crave the food. The only down side was paying the bill. This was a consistent theme throughout Amsterdam. When you are ready to pay the bill you really have to flag down the waitress to get the bill. Opened late which was great I ordered thru a delivery app. Was pleasantly pleased with the quality and flavor profile. It's been so long since I've ordered and drafted this review so I'll try my best to complete. It was one of the chicken and rice dishes that I ordered. I remember the rice being really fluffy, chicken being really tender with a nice heat but nothing overbearing. And most importantly this delicious complimentary dessert that they offered. It was like a rice pudding, that wasn't too sweet and texture was just right. I enjoyed it in our condo/loft that we were staying at during our visit. After doing the "rounds" trying to pick up the perfect place to dine that night we ended up having Thai Cuisine. It wasn't our first choice by the way. We were already seated at the Indonesian place when I noticed that the chair wasn't comfortable, or was it a bunk or a stool which was very low and the people were seated close together you can hear their conversations, so we politely left and found this place. My husband & I enjoyed an intimate romantic candlelight dinner..The music and the lighting exudes an aura of fine dining and sophistication. The waitresses were all dressed in elegant Thai costumes, and the decor inside was impeccable. The tables were all covered with fine linens with lighted candle. . I ordered a Spicy Noodle Chicken Pad Thai, Chicken Satay , white rice & Tom Yum Soup. My husband opted for the Spicy Fried Whole Fish with Papaya & Radish Salad. Everything was delicious. He had beer & I had wine. Everything was delicious, they cook just like the Thai Restaurants here in New York. Would certainly go back there again if given the chance. read more

I ordered the Kaen Phed Neau, beef with a special Thai coconut curry. The wait for the delivery was 40 minutes, which for a Sunday evening is a very good job. The food arrived warm and intact. I enjoyed the extra kroek poek, and then dug into my curry. The rice was very well cooked, none of that tough rice which you feel has been hanging around and then microwave really quick. The server seemed rude. We ordered the soup and a rice dish. The portion size was half of what we usually get for Pad Thai ( rice dish). I wasn't completely full but didn't feel like getting more food so decided to pay and leave. When we got the bill we saw that the restaurant charged us 6 euros for bottled water, they never bothered to ask or let us know about the water and it's price - this is what I disliked the most about the restaurant. The food was reasonable. Being from Los Angeles I am kind of spoiled for choice for Thai places, but I'm visiting Amsterdam so you take what you can get. The pad kee mao was spicy but not as spicey as it should be. My girlfriend had the pad Thai and was very happy. The rest of the party were very pleased. The soup was tasty but apparently a little cold. The beef salad was good quality meat and was very spicy. The price was high for the quality of the place but it's a tourist area so it's forgivable. This is a nice and clean looking place with some of the worst food and customer service in the area. They lure patrons via social media but do not deliver quality food. We tried 6 items that ranged from average to terrible. The upside is there are many very good places on this street for food so do not be afraid to go elsewhere for better quality, value and service. Ordered food from here during a very late-night office session. Of the things available on thuisbezorgd - it's probably comparatively amazing. The curry tasted like a curry, it wasn't too salty and all the ingredients were recognizable. Unfortunately it was quite greasy! And to me it tasted more like (delicious, but nonetheless) fast food from the mall rather than a €16 meal. My wife and I felt like some Thai food after our trip the the Van Gogh and Rijks Museum so we decided to try a place close by. It was about an 8 minute walk and we arrived just after opening around 3:30. We were the only ones there but everybody was very nice and willing to help with anything we needed.
