4 stars for incredible food and quick/attentive service. We stopped in one day looking for delicious Thai food, and we found it. The Pad See Ewe was fresh and not greasy. It had a beautiful crispiness and char to the noodles that developed a new flavor for noodles that I was pretty blown away by. The Pad Woodsenn was equally fresh. The portions were generous, and the two dishes were definitely in the top 5 for flavor. The only thing that wasn't mind-blowing was the summer rolls. They lacked seasoning. They were bland and not put together well. Even dry. Maybe this was an off day, or maybe we got day-old ones. Who knows. I'll definitely come back to give those rolls another shot, as everything else was absolutely spectacular. read more

Had Thai tea, vegetable egg roll, and garlic chicken. Absolutely love this place! Like I said in my previous visits here, you just cannot beat the price! Of course, make sure you bring cash if you aren't going to eat a lot because there is a minimum before they let you use your card. I believe it's $10. Parking is not a big issue here either and they get the food out to you rather quickly. Give it a try during the week or weekend because they are open during both! I tend to stick with vegetable and chicken dishes in Asian places and so far this place hits both on the mark. Everything tastes fresh and not out of a can like some places. The Thai tea here is to die for! I have been to some places where they ruin their Thai tea but this place never disappoints. I don't think I've ever had an experience quite like this anywhere. I came here for dinner last night (Mar 21, 2018) and got my order to go. I'm out here visiting for military training at Camp Bullis, so I don't live here. I found this place on Yelp and the reviews looked great. I got my food to go and came back to my hotel room. The Pad See Ewe was alright. It definitely wasn't amazing though, just alright. I then started to eat my egg roll and bit into something hard. There was an actual rock inside of my egg roll. This has NEVER happened to me before and shocked that I'm "that person" it happened to. I was absolutely disgusted though and tossed out my food, with my appetite. Personally, I'll never be coming back here again. I'm not sure how it ended up there and by the reviews of this place, I'll safely assume it's not a common occurrence... but I would warn people about it. I had high hopes coming in as a coworker always liked this place over multiple Thai restaurants we've been to. I ordered the Yellow Curry with tofu and it did not hit the spot. The yellow curry was very soupy. I'm used to it being more of a stew. It contained the tofu, onions, and avocados. I couldn't really finish it. My dad ordered the fried rice with beef and he said the rice was very dry, he couldn't finish the plate. We left the restaurant dissatisfied with our meal but the iced Thai tea was great. The service was good and I enjoyed the decor, it was wood paneling. Parking can be tricky as the gas station and furniture store next door will tow your car. read more

So happy I stumble on this place. Don't let the neighborhood scare you. So this place doesn't offer wine or spirits but there is a store connected to it that you can get what you want from there and the restaurant provides the glasses. Family owned business and they are very kind. Our waiter was energetic and excited to tell us about the menu. They are very accommodating to your palate and can create what your looking for. One of the better Thai food options in San Antonio. The location is not the best. So plan to fight for parking at times. Aside from that, food, service and ambience are great. Thai Dee has some very unique qualities about it.For starters it is the BEST Iced Tea I have ever had,I think they make it with honey.The coconut water is insanely good,it taste super fresh & has giant chunks of soft tasty coconut in it as well it is a wonderful treat! The food is wonderful my partner got the three flavor fish dish and it was wonderful! He let me taste a bite. Mine was wonderful too,I got the green curry one time and the Penang curry with pumpkin another time, but both very delicious but a little on the spicy side even at a number two spice level. Don't let this street side view worry you! It's a very busy place as we witnessed during lunch today. Larger groups beyond 6 not recommended as it is limited on space in the dining room. Meal portion for lunch are generous and very well priced @$10 out the door which includes a cup of soup, 2 crispy spring rolls and your entree. And the lunch menu is really quite extensive with a lot of variety which should suit just about everyone looking for a home cooked Thai meal. It's nice to find a local place that allows you to pick your protein or just go meatless. Waitstaff is very courteous and there is no pressure to leave if you choose to chat with your. Company awhile; pay your bill with the cashier whenever you're ready. Parking is pretty tight so large SUVs should park off the street on the little corner market side. Thai Dee is a hidden gem. The location is small but the flavor is huge!! They boast a BYOB with NO cork fee and they were quick to bring us a wine bucket with ice and wine glasses. I saw another table brought their own beer. Now on to the food. The green chicken curry is absolutely fantastic. Spicy, flavorful, heart warming. It's a new comfort food for me. I can't remember the name of the soup I had this is a late review but I'll attach a picture, it was also delicious (coconut milk base) We also had the three flavor fish - not my favorite because it was a little sweet for my taste but it was still very good. This is a very small intimate Thai restaurant. The food is amazing. I've been to so many here in SA and this is definitely the best one yet. I had the Pad See Ewe (or something like that) and the flavor was on point. It's big, so come with an empty stomach. It comes with two egg rolls and a soup... the service is quite fast! The pad Thai was tasty but the spring rolls needed more vegetable filling, it was mostly layers of the wrapper & tough to bite & chew, the clear dipping sauce that came with the rolls, however, was different but delicious. A nice little surprise of flavor. I would order from here again. read more

The staff was very nice and helpful, and the interior design was really eyecatching, but overall I would not return to dine here upon my next craving for Thai food. First of all, the parking situation is pretty poor. Come early or at off hours for parking, especially if you are bringing anyone who needs easy accessibility to the restaurant. My favorite Thai dish of all time is khao soi, and I was so pleasantly surprised to find it on the menu. The menu is pretty expansive and easy to read and understand. Khao soi is a curry dish with egg noodles and deep fried egg noodle on top - usually a stellar combo of flavor and texture and spice. However, I was pretty disappointed by the quality and authenticity of the dish. It was missing the side of pickled mustard greens, chilies, and onions - which is so essential to the taste of khao soi. The noodles were just OK, and the curry was not impressive. When I have good khao soi, I will take the leftover curry home just to eat it with rice. This was not the case this time. Also, there is no A/C, only overhead fans, so if you overheat easily, this may not be a great place to eat in the hotter months. read more

The place is located in a sketchy are, next to.a convinience store. We had a party of nine, the kind host politely asked a couple if they can move to another table so that they could join two tables to accommodate our party. Everything was perfect, the drinks, the appetizers and the meals. The reason I'm giving them four stars is because thr wait staff wasn't up to par. They completely forgot two orders, by the time the last two meals showed up every one was pretty much done. Service was great, it was lunch time and a packed house, but the waiters were still very attentive. We were served our drinks, large jasmine tea in a to-go cup, the best ever and a bowl of soup. Mine actually had some huge chunks of chicken and veggies, not bad but the broth was a little too sweet for me. My signature dish is the spicy eggplant with beef, I love it! I haven't been here in a while so I was quite disappointed when I saw how much the dish lacked "eggplant". The beef is good and tender but it seemed more like a beef dish with a few pieces of eggplant thrown in there. Most would ask why complain about receiving so much meat? Well, if you've ever tried this dish you would understand. Also, the rice to entree ratio was so off and the rice was very dry. My main issue with the dish and this is where I'm conflicted is the sauce. It's way thicker than it use to be, it's like they add cornstarch to it now. I remember it being a light dish, not too saucy, but this time it reminded me of Americanized Chinese cuisine. Very good Thai food and the server was super nice and attentive. It's a little bit of a small place but really nice.

We decided to revisit the restaurant after experiencing an excellent meal several months ago. All the soups are exceptional. However, I ordered their tiger cry, which is grilled rib eye steak served with fresh garlic and fish sauce. Although the beef was a generous serving, the meat had a burnt taste to it, which I suspect was from burnt grease and meat from inadequate cleaning of the grill. Very unappetizing. Would not recommend this expensive dish. read more

This hands down is our favorite Thai spot in San Antonio. We have been patrons for years.... I even had my graduate graduation dinner here with my family. Our absolute favorite dishes are Panang Curry with Fried Noodles and Curry Fried rice. These two dishes are ALWAYS on point and very flavorful. They are also really great about accommodating a vegetarian and lacto-vegetarian diet. I am a vegetarian and some of my family members do not eat eggs. They always accommodate us by making our dishes without eggs or fish sauce or whatever our request is (even for papaya salad). While I can drone on about how good the food is the thing that really sets Thai Dee on another level is their service. I always feel welcome and appreciated with I visit. The best way to explain what I mean here is to talk about my last visit. On my way to pick up our togo order, the weather was fine, no rain in sight. I walk in pay for my order and the gentleman up front walks to the front to open the door for me. It is now raining cats and dogs. There is also another patron that had recently left waiting to get in her car. The gentleman told us don't worry I have an umbrella. He runs back out with an umbrella for us. He first walks the other patron and her small dog to her car. He then gives me the umbrella to put my food order in the car. When I get back under the awning I give him the umbrella back and he insisted that I take the umbrella with me. I didn't want to leave him umbrella-less so I told him no. He still walked me to my door. I then watched him wait as another customer pulled up and he offered to walk them in under his umbrella. Just truly impeccable and heartfelt service. This place is no longer that good. The flavors were still there, could tell they have the potential to be authentic; as good as they used to be. However, in a way one cannot blame them. They place is packed in the weekends, their clientele is almost exclusively Caucasian/not Asian. Catering to their clientele, their dishes have become more Americanized. Not for me. We ordered: Thai Tea Vegetable Rolls (average, over oiled) Angry Ocean (the crispy basil leaves were a great addition, lemongrass/sweet + hot peppers added a nice flavor, little overcooked on the squid and portion size a little less than I would have liked) Fried Pork Ribs (taste itself was great, but not as tender as I would have liked, loved that it came with sticky rice, accompanying sauce was delicious) Basil Noodles (Wide noodles, a generous addition of those sweet + hot peppers I like, onions, chicken; really good, but still lacking something, I felt like in the past their dishes had a little more spices and flavors) Friday night, service good, except had to scream to communicate with waiters. A pretty popular place because if you go for lunch and eat inside there could be a wait for a table because the place isn't overly big and it looks unassuming, but the food is delicious. By far the best Pad Thai I have in had in city. They also add some sauce to theirs but it's not as heavy as other places I've been to.
