I got the chicken pad thai. The chicken was dry and tasteless. It was hot and inside did not have A/C. I'll pass on this for next time.

Got food to go and I was very satisfied with the food! I forgot what exactly did my husband get but I enjoyed everything. The ice thai was pretty well made... Thai Cafe is the place to go for Thai food in Tracy. The girls that work there are friendly and patient and have a great repore with the customers. Pad Thai is delicious and their salad Kai has the best dressing I have ever tasted. I have been a regular here for over 4 years and I highly reccomend them. read more

I had to read the other yelp reviews because my daughter and I ate hair the other day, and I was so disappointed because the food was not like I remembered it. I would come here in the early 2000s. Is Sugar an ingredient in Fried Rice?! What about vegetables?? Just curious because this VERY sweet fried rice is missing vegetables and curious if this is how they serve it here? Slightly disappointed. I also asked fir no spice as my 1.5 year old daughter loves rice, but I can't give her any of this, unfortunately. 1st time customer, got the food to go and it was not a good experience. Ordered Beef Pad Thai, Chicken Satay, and sauteed broccoli, mushroom & garlic. Maybe I just don't like Thai food at all. The beef pieces were cut along the grain...which made them impossible to chew. The chicken was also cut along the grain. Makes the pieces very tough to chew. The vegetable dish was tolerable. Will not be returning. The staff was very polite. I don't think the AC was working, very stuffy and warm in the restaurant. Honestly, I wasnt expecting to find a VERY high quality Thai restaurant in Tracy but I was pleasantly surprised by Thai Cafe. The food was delicious - I had a yellow curry with chicken and potatoes that I had to slurp up the last drop bc it was that yummy. I paired it with their Thai fried rice that was really well done as well. For dessert I got their ice cream sandwich with a chocolate syrup that I'll have to come back for another bc they said they make a boysenberry sauce that as a newb missed out on! Got takeout from here and wow, oh wow, was I impressed! Customer service: 10/10 (I was about to make a fairly expensive tipping mistake and the gal did the honest thing and pointed it out to me). The yellow curry had a slight green curry flavor to it but it was really good. We also got the chicken pad thai and and the sayta appetizer. Not a lot of choices in their menu but one item stands head and shoulders above the rest - the Salad Kai (chicken salad)! You can't go wrong with the Pad Thai; the Fried Rice contains adequate portions of chicken, pork, or beef. If you come here for lunch, chances are the people are having either Salad Kai, Pad Thai, or Fried Rice. They are that good! Food presentation needs some help but the flavor is definitely predominant. This is more like good old homestyle cooking; just like getting invited into someone's home... Comfort food, if you will. I think this distinguishes itself (in a good way) from the other local Thai restaurants. However, a little interior makeover seems to be long overdue. Pretty good place! I've had good service and food every time I went and the food portion to price ratio makes sense. The spicy can be pretty spicy though so tread carefully! I also think a lot of people have to realize this place is more of a mom&pop restaurant rather than a chain, so it's going to have a different sort of ambiance/service to it. Do be warned though, they do not have air conditioning, so it gets hot in here during summer. read more

Used to be one of my favorite thai restaurant growing up in tracy but the last time we went here, our portions were so small compared to what we would normally get. I used to really love this place, but I'm going to avoid it from now on. They have have fast service, but terrible portions and crazy prices. Prices used to be really reasonable and now I'm paying $14 for a small portion of beef. Not worth it one bit. While it looks good, the Pad Thai is cheaper and even bigger than the beef. I love Thai food. First time ordering here, we got the Tom yum soup,fried rice, pad see ew,and a salad. I'm not picky when it comes to food but sorry this place honestly wasn't very good. Everything was overly sweet. It was weird because even the fried rice was really sweet. Maybe they mixed up the sugar and salt. The Tom yum soup I ended up wasting because it was too sweet, I have a sweet tooth too so imagine how sweet it was. The salad was basically just a chicken salad. So my friend told me about this place and finally last week we came here for some food and I am glad we did. During lunch time the place was pretty busy and they had a ton of pick up orders which because of that it would take about 10 minutes or so for the foods to be pretty. The first time I had the beef basil lunch and it was really tasty and a really good portion for the price. When we left i took their menu and gave to my colleagues and 2 days later they wanted to order some thai food so this time we ordered their pork specials with sides of jasmine rice. The pork was a bit spicy which made it taste even better. You really get a lot of food for the price you pay and since this restaurant is always busy, the food is always fresh and you can actually taste it. I used to like this place, but the food and its servings has failed to recieve any positive feedback ! I ordered through DoorDash, and everything totaled 73$ when I received the angel wings, which I paid over 13$ and opened the small box found the smallest wing potions I have ever seen they were not " wings" as one would perceive of chicken wings! The Pad sew mew had no flavor, very dry noodles and 1 piece of broccoli , beef was tough and dry! The fried rice that they call popular and famous was dry with no contents , egg, chicken that fried rice would normally have, it was fried that's all the rice was I was so disappointed and disgusted with the preparation of the food I ordered, and to pay a significant amount of money for it, was just the blow out of it all! Finally tried the famous salad Kai! Ordered it for lunch and it came as a huge salad with warm chicken (similar to the one served in the chicken fried rice!) The dressing was very good and complimented the chicken, chopped apple slices, sliced cucumber, lettuce and tomato. I can see why this is a favorite. Very generous serving of cooked chicken on top of the salad although there is an option to order the salad with extra chicken. read more

We went around 12:15pm on a Thursday for a team lunch. We were greeted at the front but wasn't seated right away because they had to clean up. The waitress was very nice. She seated us once the table was ready and gave us a few minutes to look at the menu to decide what we wanted to eat and drink. There was 5 of us and we all ordered our lunch specials. Within 10 minutes, 3 our of 5 received their food in a timely manner. The waitress noticed that the remaining 2 did not come out yet but we reassured us that it was coming. After 15 minutes later, the rest of the plates did not come out. We even asked for to go boxes and to pack the other remaining 2 to go as well. Still after waiting and waiting, no to go boxes were given to us. I was so fed up that I walked up to the cashier to ask for the to go boxes and pay up front. The waitress said that the kitchen was so back and they didn't even started on our food.... I'm probably never gonna go back. The waitress didn't even comp us for waiting. Never going back. Meh -the service and the food sucked last night! The chicken satay we ordered for appetizer -talking about skimping! 6 skewers of very thin pieces of chicken, and not all that flavorful either. The Entrees - we asked both to be Spicy - they each had one piece of Jalapeno in it, needless to say not spicy at all. The Chicken which was to be with red bell peppers, onions and basil, had exactly 2 strips of red bell peppers and 3 leaves of basil, and the chicken was extremely dry. The bean curd with the green beans was decent, but a little on the salty side. Dave's Thai Iced Tea was more ice than tea. I requested hot tea but the waitress never came to check back on us or refil the hot for me, or water for Dave. In fact the waitress didn't come to check on us all throughout the meal. She only came to take the orders. We waited 20 minutes to get our check but she didn't show up so we walked over to the counter, and she says 'oh you guys are done, uh sorry, do you want anything to go?" .... anything to go??? are you kidding!!! I heard from family members that this place was pretty good. Not much to look at but still very good. The service was very good and very attentive to helping you out with whatever you need. I order the Rice plate with beef at the spiciness level that they had. The beef was tender and the rice was nice and warm. it was a very good dish! Please consider this place is literally a hole in the wall type of restaurants. Usually places like this serve some of the best food out there because they focus all their energy into the food instead of the ambience. With that in mind, the tables are old, the chairs are cheap and old and the whole place just looks dirty enough for anyone to question why they came in to eat here.. Going to the bathroom you will see old dirty buckets and cans and just trash that you never want to see in a restaurant. If they only spend as much time as they do in their food this place would receive a better rating from me. Their Lunch menu is very limited to only a few dishes! the only noodles that they have is Pad Thai.. I asked the waitress if they have Pad See Ew and unfortunately they do not :( Booooo that is laaaame and apparently people always ask for them. Sadly this place doesn't deliver . I work in an area where there is a ton of authentic Thai, Cambodian and Asian foods and this doesn't compare . First the Thai Ice Tea is diluted with what tastes like milk and water ... No Bueno The yellow and green curry is diluted and smells very fishy which tells me probably too much fish oil is being used and I suspect frozen chicken ( very dry ). If your going to advertise Thai make Thai They also don't have brown rice which I found odd . If stars were given for service alone I would give them 4-5 everyone was very friendly and food came in a timely manner. Just doesn't taste authentic to me at all. Sorry :( I want to add that the chicken is literally freezer burned ( I took mine to go cause I wasn't hungry when the family went and just looked ) I wish I could add a photo it's not pretty.
