I've tried other places in the area and found the food very disappointing, so when I came here last week I just assumed I would be let down again. I've rated this place a 2 because the first time I went the food was awesome I had the pad Thai which was perfect not too sour not too sweet and they have fresh peppers similar to what my parents make... But the second time I went and ordered the pad Thai it was so awful it was like I was eating boiled noodles no flavor I was so disappointed because I was so hungry I got my money back and never returned.. Zero stars. I can NOT believe the way I was treated tonight by this restaurant. I called to place an order. Someone answered, asked me if I would hold for a moment, so I said fine. FIFTEEN MINUTES later I was still on hold. After a long day at work, my son wanted me to pick up thai. It's so much easier to call it in. I spent an additional 10 plus minutes, while driving there, trying to call them back (I hung up after the fifteenth minute on hold). Their phone is a VOIP - and apparently a cheap one at that - so it just kept saying they weren't available. When I got there, I asked for the manager. The young woman said she was the Assistant. I let her know that I was angry. And that it was not right to leave someone on hold for fifteen minutes. In any establishment, once you answer that phone, you need to follow through. Her excuse was that they had a restaurant full of people here. So basically she told me that the people sitting there were more important than my business. I didn't yell. I didn't use profanity. I didn't use vulgar language. I did say - which I probably shouldn't have - that I spend a lot of money in there (it's the truth, but I suppose it's irrelevant). She refused to take responsibility for anything, and basically defended herself by reiterating that the restaurant was full of people. And then this other patron decided to get involved. He called me vulgar names, used vulgar language, and got involved in a situation that was none of his business. None of which I had done. And the manager did...NOTHING. As this other patron continued to repeat his vulgar language, I advised him it was none of his business. He told me that it was the business of everyone in there. I finally said I was going to just place my order and go outside and wait. He continued to make vulgar remarks, so I told the manager to forget it, cancel my order, and I left. I am so, so very saddened at the level of how I was treated. I go there so much that one of the staff members knows my voice and places the order automatically. Or she did, anyway. After over five years of frequenting this establishment - I won't be going back. Again, ZERO stars. From 15 minutes with no response, to not even being able to call back, to the manager allowing that other patron to use vulgar language toward me...I don't need thai food THAT bad. In case I didn't make it clear...ZERO stars. And up until today I would have said at least three, probably four. read more

I come here at least once a week since I work nearby. Love this place, which serves flavorful, authentic Thai food. Some favorites: The rice noodle soup (I get egg noodles) is my go-to when I'm craving a comfort meal. This is similar to pho but in my opinion, less salty. I love the broth of this soup so much and like that I can add my own herbs, lime and chili sauce to my liking. The tom yum soup is the best I've had in town! It was not spicy, in fact, I would've ordered it spicier, but the flavors were spot on perfect. I ordered mine with fried tofu since I don't eat meat, and the tofu has a great crispy texture. I was a little disappointed with the green curry, which I've ordered once. I was hoping for more veggies in the curry, which was mainly bell pepper, bamboo shoots and tofu (again, I went for the vegetarian option). The sauce tasted great, not too hot, just wish it had more veggies-- Thai eggplant would be great. I did hear from my Thai friend that their style is authentic though, and that certain veggies are used with specific curry flavors. So this may have been the reason why they only used those ingredients. read more

Pretty good. We got take out last night. My husband got the veggie stir fry and I got the green curry. We also got the friend spring rolls appetizer. We were surprised that there were only 2 spring rolls in the order and they were small. They did give a good serving of rice for each dish and the portions were large. The green curry was good. Both dishes had a good amount of veggies, just not the type we really like. Broccoli, peppers, onions and bamboo. Overall, pretty good! read more

I spent almost $40.00 at this place for 2meals, and in my order was 3 orders of Fried Spring Rolls. I loooovvee Thai food and always order Spring Rolls, so I know how they are supposed to taste, I've even ate at this location a time or two, and they didn't taste like they did tonight, they tasted old like they had either been frozen for a while or just there for a really long time and very tough to bite but not burnt, again there were 3 orders and 2 came with each order, there were 4 left that were not eaten and 2 were only tasted, I wasn't going to give them the half eaten ones back, that's disgusting. I called and explained my dissatisfaction as politely as I could, and the young lady that answered wanted to go back and forth about how they're made weekly and if re-made it would be from the same batch, and how there hadn't been any complaints all day about the spring rolls,I asked if I could come back for a refund for the four that were left, and was advised that she would need to call her boss, she called me back and said no refunds but did offer 10% off next order, I know how these places operate and I don't eat Thai EVERYDAY, so I know once I probably went back I wouldn't have gotten my 10% for sure so I preferred a refund.. The young lady wasn't rude however she just wanted to keep going back and forth repeating herself, about how they were prepared weekly, Ma'am I don't care, they weren't right.. And most know the Spring Rolls make the meal lol.. Just know you won't get your money back, if the order isn't right.. The rest of the food was decent like before.. Lunch specials of $7.95 include soup or salad. The menu had a good selection for lunch of all the typical Thai curries and other noodle or rice dishes. I decided to try the massaman curry versus my usual choice of panang curry. I was happy to see that one table of their customers included 3 Buddhist monks in full saffron robe attire; I'm all about authenticity. The soup was good, tasty broth with thin rice vermicelli noodles and a good amount of white meat chicken pieces. The curry was fragrant & lightly sweet, with perfect amounts of onions, chicken, carrots, potatoes & peanuts. I always order Thai hot & it has a nice little punch from the chilies. Another customers pad Thai dish looked good; they actually serve it with a little bowl of crushed peanuts on the side so you can adjust the peanut taste. Their Thai spices you ask for on the side I clouded chili paste and chili oil, & hoisin sauce, but not fish sauce with sliced Thai chilies. Although I didn't get any, It appeared that their Thai iced tea & iced coffee looked good and was a good glass size. They offer 6 Japanese, Thai & Chinese beers by the bottle, plus a few American brands, sake, & 6 wines by the glass or bottle. I look forward to coming back to try other dishes read more

I will NEVER eat at Thai Cafe EVER AGAIN! I took my mother to lunch at Thai Cafe yesterday afternoon and about 3-4 hours later I began to have abdominal cramps which gradually turned into painful diarrhea. Today, the next day, I've still have recurring cramps and I've had diarrhea all day! Ridiculous! I had the Panang Curry with Chicken and my mother had the Panang Curry with Tofu. It was delicious, but unfortunately not properly cooked or otherwise contaminated. I just called to tell the Thai Cafe about our poor experience with their food quality, but the waitress who answered the phone was needlessly defensive and extremely rude. She completely ignored my concerns and didn't offer to reimburse me for our troubles (i.e. food poisoning) or even apologize for making us sick. This is totally unacceptable...shame on you. I have just reported Thai Cafe to the Florida Department of Business Regulations. I sincerely hope my suffering and my formal complaint to the Dept. of Business will help to prevent other customers from having a similarly sickening dining experience. read more

They have attentive wait staff, great prices, and an excellent selection of items. They are great at explaining menu choices, making suggestions, and helping you find your perfect selection. My husband and I ate at Thai Cafe for the first time last night. Let me echo what the other reviewer wrote - this place is NOT fancy. For example, my silverware was wrapped in a paper towel, rather than a napkin. The booths seem dated and the rest of the decor is nothing to write home about, but the meal we had was pretty good. We started with fresh spring rolls (always a favorite of mine) which were, indeed, fresh. They lacked a little flavor - I think they usually have some cilantro or Thai basil wrapped in them for that punch of flavor I love. The sauces that accompanied them, a sweet chili sauce and a peanut sauce, were both tasty. We next had the yum salad with chicken. My husband had never had a Thai salad before and really liked it. It was light and full of flavor. For entrees, I ordered chicken pad thai and my husband ordered massamun curry. Both dishes were good, though I felt that both of them were a bit sweeter than I am accustomed to. Also, this was the first Thai place that didn't give me lime slices with my pad thai (I am sure if I had asked they would have done so.) We had plenty leftover from our meal, so will be enjoying that for dinner this evening. I had a thai iced tea to drink and my husband a soda, and all together our bill was just shy of $40. At other Thai places we've visited, the bill would have been nearly double, so I felt this was a good value. Service was also fine. Husband and I agree that we will go there again. read more

We eat here once a week and it is really delicious! The pad Thai, fish curry, Tom yum soup, vegetable basil, sweet and sour, and red curry are all excellent! I really get cravings for their peanut sauce for the salad dressing. My favorite is the fish curry! Sandy is the best waitress and takes care of us when we go. Tom Yum Chicken Satay Beef with Peppers and Onions (Prik Pao) Nestled in a small strip mall this is an authentic Thai place. I tried some traditional stuff and found it very tasty. I found their sauces for the Satay to be different but excellent. I would definitely go here again. read more

thai cafe used to be my favorite thai place . . . . . . until their food & service went downhill. i have gone into thai cafe with a friend before and they refused to take his order from HIM. they would only talk to me. i have no idea why.. but they were ignoring him the whole entire time. i used to always get chicken pad thai (& pad thai should always be good at a thai place) and the vegetable basil dish. last time i went -- the chicken pad thai had entiiiirely too much fish sauce in it. for those of you who dont know what fish sauce is or what it smells like -- you might not know the difference, but fish sauce (patis -- to me) is reaaallly intense & quite frankly -- the less, the better. the only thing that has stayed consistently awesome -- is the thai tea. unfortunately thai tea isnt a reason to go to a thai restaurant. i used to go there every sunday for lunch, but i havent gone back since my last iffy bout of thai food at thai cafe. read more

But to our disappointment it was not good because of these reasons: pricey, food was over cooked, and it had an off taste and we know how the dishes should taste like. I ordered broccoli with tofu. The tofu smelled off (rotten smelling). I sent it back letting the waitress know it smelled rotten. I asked for the same dish - broccoli with vegetables in lieu of the meat. When they brought the plate back out the had reduced the number of broccoli at least in half and used the broccoli that was mixed in with the rotten tofu. This is me and my husband's favorite place to dine. We go there at least once a week! The soups are great, the Thai Fried Rice is great, the Red Curry, the Ginger Salad dressing is omg so good, and the desserts are great too! Everything I have tried here has been great. The above mentioned are just our favorites! The family that owns this place is great people and has become family to us! I will agree that it is not a fancy place but, it's a great place! After reading the reviews I checked this place out. But I have no idea what these people are thinking or if they've never had good Thai before. I would give this a zero if I could. It gets a 1 because the service was good, the waitress was nice and the Thai iced tea was good. That's about as pleasant as it gets. The food is absolutely disgusting. It is by far the worst Thai food I've ever had. I ordered the Coconut Fried rice with chicken satay. The rice was not fried, it was steamed with coconut milk throw over it and raw veggies thrown in, raw raisins and cashews thrown on top. The pineapple was white and had a horrible taste and the chicken satay was over cooked. Just a soupy and gross mess. The spring rolls were absolutely disgusting, I couldn't bring myself to eat the whole thing, the dipping sauce was on its own level of putrid.
