    Chicken pho and fixings
    Kristy A.

Great, prompt service. Love the soft Asian music playing. Cucumber water was a nice surprise. The pho was a little light on the flavor. Maybe it's a veggie broth? I'm taking plenty home so I'll give it some more flava there.

Ordered take out for Valentine's Day. Was our first time trying Lamai. Ordered chicken Pad Thai and spring rolls. The portions were plenty and the heat was kickin. Only complaint would be the lack of peanuts in both our orders of Pad Thai. Definitely would recommend and will definitely order again.

Quiet atmosphere, Delicious food, & Quick Service! * Don't let this little hole in the wall (in a grocery store complex) fool you. The food is delicious! *First time in. I was seated, fed, & gone in about 30 minutes. The atmosphere was quiet when I arrived (on a Wednesday around 6pm). I was the only customer except for a gentleman waiting for his takeout order. When I was seated, the waitress asked for my drink order. I ordered water. - I was pleasantly surprised to taste the water. It tasted like cucumber, very refreshing! For dinner, I ordered the Thai Phó, one of my favorite soup dishes. It did NOT disappoint! The broth was so delectable I cleaned the bowl! - I always say, "you know you've got a good soup if it makes your nose run!" - this was definitely true tonight. - the senses were cleared!!! After I finished my bowl of awesomeness, a different waitress came around (maybe one of the owners) to ask how my meal was and to refill my water. With tip, I spent $20 on my hefty bowl of soup. Not bad for good food and excellent service! I'll definitely be back!

I came to Lamar Thai for a graduation celebration dinner! There's plenty of parking in the lot in front and it's easy to find in the shopping center. Inside, the restaurant space is a little small so highly recommend coming early or calling ahead. Our group of 8 ended up having to split into 2 tables but our wait staff was very accommodating. They don't have a liquor license but we were able to purchase beverages at the liquor store next door and bring them in which was nice! For appetizers, we ordered spring rolls as well as the crab rangoons. Both were so crunchy and flavorful and had great dipping sauces. For dinner, I had the panang curry with tofu, but our group also tried the green curry, pineapple fried rice, and basil fried rice. Everything was so delicious!! I loved how crispy my tofu was. Overall, not super fancy spot but solid Thai food!

I got the pad lad nah, and it was more like pad lad nooo. This was the blandest bowl of noodles I have ever had in my life. The gravy was watery and bland. Very disappointing meal that cost $30. The tuptim rolls were the only reason I gave this place 2 stars, otherwise it would've been one.

Place is clean, decorated beautifully and food was great Staff is very attentive. Only thing I think they should change is the music playing. Rick and foul does not match the ambiance LOL

I order some Krab Ragoons as well, I felt like they were room temperature not hot. I got some fried rice with fried chicken, which I highly recommend. My friend got a pad Thai chicken spice level 3. Which is mild. We got seat next to a child in the back of the booth area. The child belongs to one of the employee and makes a loud ruckus or watch movies on his iPad. It was really hard to have a conversation with friends.

We went to Lamai Thai for my son's birthday on recommendation of a friend, and overall really enjoyed our meal. The restaurant is fairly small, and appeared clean and well kept. The service was friendly and quick with the meals. We had chicken pad Thai, a pork side, white rice side and Massaman chicken curry. The portions were enough, but not so much that we took any home. The spice level is low by default, which was perfect for us. My curry was the best I've ever had- which honestly doesn't mean much with my limited experience, but I will definitely be back for this dish soon. Only negatives were that sodas are by the can so no refills or good fountain that we like, and with few people in and no music or background music or noise, our normal voices with kids felt like we were being very loud. A bit of background music would help with that. But we were pleased overall.

I can honestly say with all the times I have been there and it's more than I can count, never have. I had a bad meal! The food is always the freshest and it's always served piping hot. Their vegetables are just crunchy enough to know they're fresh but still have their flavor. Their portions are ginormous. You definitely get your moneys worth with the highest quality dinner or lunch you could ever ask. The service beyond stellar! Because I go there so much and they know me so well I don't even have to tell them what I want to drink they bring it automatically. They truly treat their customers like family and that's a rarity these days! They truly care about their customers and they remember who they are. I listened to them with other tables and they take just as an active interest in them as they do Me. That's the sign of quality. I love the ambience because they always have fresh flowers and they're always dust free. So many times you'll go into places in the plants have dust on them not here. Someone truly takes care of the greenery and it is green! It's also very interesting to watch the TV screens as they do demonstrations of various Thai food preparation. I've been to numerous Thai places in Jacksonville. None can hold a candle to this one. Moreover, when I lived on the West Coast in California and I went to some fantastic Thai restaurants, they don't compare to this one! You can never go wrong here.

We were bringing the whole family and hoping for a fun night, but unfortunately the experience didn't match the ratings. From the start, the tone felt off. When I called to make the reservation, the host immediately said, "We don't seat incomplete parties. We only wait 5 minutes or we give the table away." The policy itself is understandable, but the delivery came across harsh and unwelcoming. A more thoughtful approach like, "We kindly ask that your full party arrives within 5 minutes, otherwise we may need to seat other guests," would have felt very different. When we arrived early and asked if we could be seated sooner (with the rest of our party just minutes away), we were met with the same response again, which felt unnecessary given that there were several empty tables. Unfortunately, the service inside didn't improve. Our initial waiter was inattentive and at times dismissive. We had to ask for basic things like utensils and plates for shared appetizers, and the responses often came with an unwelcoming tone. At one point, when I asked for a plate and knife to share, the interaction became uncomfortable, and I ended up asking to speak with someone. The situation was handled poorly, and the waiter did not return. On the food side, I ordered the Massaman chicken curry at the lowest spice level, and it was still too spicy to enjoy. That said, most of my family did enjoy their meals, which I appreciated. Thankfully, a different waitress stepped in later and was kind and attentive--if the service had been like that from the beginning, the experience likely would have been very different. I also spoke with the manager, Jorge, who was receptive to the feedback and said he would address the issues, which I did appreciate. Overall, I was really disappointed given the strong reviews and the lively atmosphere happening around us. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I wouldn't return.

However, there were only four small pieces of shrimp, which felt skimpy. The portion size was what I expected, but was disappointed to find a paper wrapper mixed into the fried rice.
