Ordered takeout today for lunch. Overall, I was unimpressed. We ordered the spring rolls, lamb satay and crispy garlic chicken. The portion size of the lamb satay was tiny for the $15 price tag -- two under seasoned pieces of lamb about the size of a half-dollar each. The spring rolls were very bland. The garlic chicken was ok, but was also greatly under seasoned and had no heat at all (we ordered a medium level of heat). Underwhelming showing for first time ordering from them. read more

I knew this is not a great place. But I was on foot, tired, hungry. Just needed to have a bite before hopping on a bus and heading back home. The service is friendly and non obtrusive. I ordered a signature dish: Hor-Mok and some rice. It doesn't look or taste anything like a real hor mok. Might as well call it mild curry wrapped in aluminum. It was SO SO SO MEH! The seafood inside seems like subpar frozen seafood mix: a few clams shells but a single clam meat, a couple of mussels with one that is dead closed tight, small small shrimps, a couple of scallops, no squid as described. This is thrown in with some veggies and curry in an aluminum wrap. Camping food tastes better. A young lady had some fried noodles at a nearby table. They look just as sad and soggy as my order. Not sure what kind of Thai food this is. IT'S JUST NOT THAI FOOD! And the price is shockingly high given the quality you get. This is way below average cooking. Okie portion for a price I paid. I know it's lunch time but still relatively small compared to other Thai restaurant I have been to. The food took 20minutes to come out even there was only 2 tables in the restaurant. The waiter did his basic job as taking your order and giving you the check. Here are more detailed review on the food: *Yellow curry noodle ($10.95) Flat wide noodle cooked in yellow curry + homemade sauce w/ carrot, peas, and ground chicken. I've never seen this dish in other Thai restaurants! And they're quite generous on the amount of ground chicken ;) Love love it!!! *Pineapple fried rice w/ chicken ($10.95) Pretty basic fried rice w/ pineapple chunks, but very flavorful! *Crab cream cheese ($7.95) Size-wise, they're smaller than normal crab rangoons in other Thai places and they were served w/ sweet and sour sauce. It's good but that's just about it. *Chicken yellow curry ($11.95) Pretty good curry but I feel the ratio of curry, meat, and vegetable are a bit off. There was a veggie party going on the plate. *Mango sticky rice ($6.95) If you've never tried mango sticky rice or if you love this dessert then you definitely should try it! We order take out often from here and has always been delicious. Today was not one of those days. I called into order our food and was read our order back over the phone. When I arrived to the location, they didn't have my main dish on the order. I had to wait an additional 15-20 minutes for that and once we got home, all of our dishes were the incorrect level of spice. Super disappointing. I walked in here two years ago expecting to be disappointed. It's in a strip mall in Shoreline. It has a huge trashy neon sign. Here comes the fake American Thai. Oh boy I was wrong. The food is amazing and well-priced. Everything I have tried is excellent. My favorite is the Thai ground chicken. I decided to try this restaurant because it was on the way home and I was super hungry and I was craving Thai. The place on the inside is very clean and well decorated. It was relatively busy when we got there especially for a Sunday at 3pm. We got a booth table. The menu had family style options and lunch combos but the combos aren't available on the weekends. The menu items were your usual Thai fare. Nothing out of the ordinary. However, when the food came it was different than any other Thai restaurant I've been to. Each entree was just a little better and fresher than typical Thai. We ordered Orange Chicken, Crying Tiger Beef Salad, Tom Ka with chicken and veggies and Massaman Curry with chicken. All of it was better than expected. The curry dish was too sweet but that's because I should've ordered a spicier one. The Thai iced tea was just ok. All the meat was cooked perfectly. The server did forget one of our appetizer orders so we cancelled it. The food took some time to get to us but maybe it's because it's made fresher than other Thai restaurants. Nearly a 1/3 more than most Thai places I go to, and here we were...in Shoreline. The menu was huge beyond belief. My dinner mate ordered the fresh vegetarian fresh rolls (I looked at him with one eyebrow raised since he's a guy that doesn't consider food a meal unless somebody was killed in the making of it) and the Cashew Chicken for his main. The wide-noodle ground chicken curry caught my eye so that's what I had; but not to be outdone, I had my own appetizer/2nd entree too: the Chef Salad. Ground chicken has a really satisfying texture to me. Since I'm not a pork or beef eater, it's always a treat when I can have foods that have ground chicken. Luckily, most Thai places have options like Larb Gai and other preparations. The curry noodles were okay. The first bite didn't taste any better than the last; I don't know if I'd order it again. The Cashew Chicken was okay; the price didn't match the food. The fresh roll was good. But that could be because the Chef Salad was so good that I could not stop gobbling it up. And for $9.95, it was giant: a big plate of mixed lettuce, chicken, chopped prawns, tomatoes, onions, with this amazing zippy green dressing. I kept offering a bite to my company in between my approving food moans. Just what I wanted to eat. I don't think I can come back here and NOT order it. Seriously. This is a decent option if you're in the area. It's on the end of a strip mall so it's a bit quieter than the rest of the place. It offers a quiet dining area that's a bit dark but soothing. The staff has always been plentiful and kind when I visit to eat in or take out. I typically come here for a dish called pud ba mee that not all thai places serve. It's basically stir fried egg noodles with meat and veggies. Although I like a bit more fish sauce, it definitely hits the spot! The noodles are firm and not overcooked; veggies are fresh; meat is marinated well. The prices are a bit higher than I'd like to pay but they often advertise with coupons in the mail. Yes, those ones in the envelope that you have to sort through. In case you have picky children (like I do) they offer a few dishes that kids will appreciate. read more

Came here for the first time last night. I had a serious craving for pad see ew and this place happened to have a coupon in my entertainment book. The decor is nice and we were promptly greeted. First I had to use the bathroom, and used the smaller stall. It was seriously ridiculously small. Overall cleanliness was okay. My friend ordered phad thai and a "thai me up," pretty much a thai iced tea with alcohol. He was satisfied with it. Our food took a little while. The serving was pretty large, but mine was $10.95 for beef, and the phad thai was about the same. A little on the pricey side. My pad see ew was very oily and salty. There was way too much soy sauce. Beef was good and tender, as was the broccoli. My friend let me try his phad thai and I really wish I didn't. It was EXTREMELY sweet and tasted like they used a bunch of ketchup. My overall thoughts? Thank goodness I had a coupon because it was too pricey. Not authentic. Over-seasoned. There are way better Thai places in the area. Worst pad thai I have ever eaten. I ordered two stars, completely void of any flavor let alone any heat. The waiter said two stars would be medium heat. Lunch comes with a small soup of the day - usually a few small vegetable pieces in a flavourful chicken broth. With your food choice, you also get a small portion of pad Thai and your choice of brown or white steamed rice. All in all, a good value. I just wish they offered more than four options... As far as the rest of their menu goes, the options are well priced for what you get. We've been pleased with what we have ordered and if you've read any of my reviews, you can see what we have experienced along with their menu descriptions. Take care when you choose your stars, their spicy is actually spicy which endears me further. What stands out is their décor, definitely not what you would expect for being the last store in a strip mall. The canopy of a wooden temple adorns the inside of the restaurant with beautiful hanging lanterns. The framework of the booths have decorative carved posts and patterned fabrics on the seats. At the tables, there are woven wicker chairs. I also want to mention the bathrooms, clean with a beautiful washing sink + faucet. I've been here a few times for lunch and ordered the chicken cashew lunch both times. It was amazing, soup was so good and the pad thai was good. This time the chicken in my first bite was mostly fat. I reluctantly had a couple more bites and no fat. The soup was just ok and the pad Thai wasn't as flavorful but best of the meal. I took most to go but ended up not wanting to eat it so I threw it away. The waitress was nice and there when I needed anything. She didn't hover over me asking me if I needed anything else. This is a very unassuming place. It's in a strip mall, next to also a very unassuming Starbucks. It's bigger than expected inside and looked pretty nice as well. So obviously I just didn't know what to expect. I ordered a Tom Yum Woon Sen (sp?) soup. It sounded oddly good with ground chicken, chicken chunks and chicken wontons, but it was awesome. It had a ton of flavor, very balanced, and a perfect amount of heat for 2 stars. I was thinking about it all day. While it's pretty far out of the way for me, I'd likely go back or try to see if I can find that Tom Yum variation nearby. It was a lunch special. Most dishes were between $10-15 The lost stars, unfortunately, are for service. Thai Bistro was advertised as a good place to eat if you don't have much time but I barely got back from my hour long lunch on time. It seemed just a couple people were waiting tables and that their time was also divided among other tasks. I came in, no line or anything, yet took a couple minutes to get greeted and sat. Took several minutes to get water. I wasn't checked on again and needed to wave someone who was not my server to bring the bill. I ordered beef panang curry to go. The to-go container for the curry is like half as the other places. This is my first time ordering curry here and I'm surprised how small it is. Also, the curry itself comes only with beef and green pepper slices inside (no other stuff ???) normally, it would come with more veggies inside. I will not recommend this place. read more

Today I had a very unpleasant experience. I ordered over the phone, said what I wanted and the person on the other end said "ok 25 minutes!" And then hung up the phone. Nothing else. I pick up my food and get home only to find no rice with my meal. I call back and tell them I think they forgot it and immediately I'm being accused of lying because the lady was trying to say she asked me if I wanted rice and I said no. First off, why would I say no to that? 2nd of all why would anyone order a single $20 plate and expect the rice to not be included. She says if not her fault prices have increased. Lol that's funny. Any other Thai restaurant or Asian food restaurant gives rice complimentary with the meal. Never have I heard of paying extra for a measly side of RICE. Her attitude was atrocious and quite frankly I'd rather not eat somewhere that will accuse a customer of LYING instead of straight up admitting their mistake and just simply apologizing for not including anywhere in the menu or on the phone that rice is not included. This place isn't bad. The first time I ordered Thai Basil to go and it was just "ok". I LOVE their brown rice though it has a nice texture because they don't over-ook it like most places. I highly recommend that. This time I ordered the Hot Basil Chicken entree and it was amazingggggg. Seriously the flavors in this dish were perfection. The only flaw I found was it was just a little too oily especially the eggplant pieces I couldn't eat one because it was saturated with oil but the flavor profile overwhelmed the flaw. I will definitely order it again. The Thai iced tea was an ok size I wish it were just a little bigger. I ordered the fried banana with coconut ice cream for dessert and it was really good too...not overly sweet but a good balance for the palate. Came on a busy Sunday, Father's Day. The food here is usually reliably good but if it's really busy you might want to go another time. There was a constant line of people inside the restaurant for take out to the detriment of sit down diners. The service was practically non existent. They never asked if we wanted anything to drink and it took an hour for food to start arriving. I had pad see ew with tofu and it was just ok. Noodles and tofu were tasty but came with a few pieces of undercooked broccoli and nothing else. I also asked for medium but it was barely spicy. I saw another couple leave before getting their food because they were tired of waiting. I hope they can hire more help because this is usually a good place to eat. read more

We wish I could give this place zero stars. We went for our 11 month anniversary on Friday. The service and food were horrible. The Pad Thai was lukewarm so it was obvious they just warmed up and the chicken was dry. The mix appetizer was mediocre. The Thai iced tea was decent. This place has some pretty decent food and has good variety of dishes I rarely ever see in Thai restaurants. There was a time when I would recommend my friends to come here and try their Golden Duck and Garlic Beef. However, the last couple of times I came here, the Golden Duck and Garlic Beef were not as tasty as I remember. Their curry and Phad Thai has never disappointed me and continues to be one of my favorites among Thai restaurants. The service is great, there's plenty of parking, and the environment is pleasing. I recently rediscovered this restuarant, while I have been here a few times in the past it has recently become something that I crave. I am currently in love with the tom yum soup with tofu and veggies, but I think what makes me a fan of this restuarant is the totally veggies section on the menu. I love how it lists all the things that are sometimes secretly snuck into thai food that vegetarians will not enjoy. While this location is in a strip mall, it is so nicely decorated inside that you barely notice. Everyone seemed to enjoy stopping here on their way home to get some takeout. Servers were helpful and accomodating. Its also in in the entertainment book so you can score some 2 for 1 food which makes it very cost efficient. We've been coming to Thai bistro for several years now. We generally like the food - it's not the best American Thai food I've ever had but it's solid. However, tonight was one of many, many nights when we've arrived to get takeout food at the time we were told and it's nowhere near ready. Tonight was a record though - the food was supposed to be ready for pick up at 5:45 but my husband waited until almost 6:30 to get it. Unfortunately, they're pretty quick about getting taking payment so he couldn't even leave. If it's gonna take an hour to get our food, fine - just tell us that. Don't say it'll be 35 minutes and then make us wait in your crowded lobby for almost an hour. read more
