This is a mom and pop place. The family that runs it is really nice, sometimes their kids are there and could be slightly distractive, but mostly under control. Personally I love kids and don't mind so much, but I know I cannot speak for all. However, with that said it is a very kid friendly place. The decor is very simple, clean, bright and plain. If you're looking for a romantic feel, definitely not the place. All food on the menu comes with the choice of mild, medium, hot and thai hot spice level. Hot is really really hot. You can also choose no spice level, but this is not applicable to everything on the menu. So far I've tried their thai ice tea (my favorite and passed my standards of expectations), beef pad thai, papaya salad-spice level hot, and Tom yum soup-medium. From my experience in thai food, they definitely have their taste down. It's not overtly over or under seasoned. It's not oily or dry. To me, it's perfect like a home cooked thai meal. The price is average, 2 thai ice tea, 3 pad thai, 1 salad, 1 soup, roughly $50 not including tip. Very enjoyable lunch. They gyowzas were unexpectedly deep fried, but surprisingly delicate. Filled with pork and crab five were served with a soy-based dipping sauce that was sweet, yet tangy with vinegar. Drunken Noodles is my bellwether dish for trying a new Thai place. They were not at all greasy, made with fresh carrots, bell peppers, Thai basil and cloud-ear mushrooms. I ordered them "Thai hot" and though they did not make me cry, it was at least "nose running" hot. I think having passed the cheerful waitresses' test, next time they will go all the way. The wife's pineapple fried rice could have fed a family. Cashews and raisins added crunch and additional sweetness to the pineapple, and potatoes added a creamy mouth-feel. The enormous selection of dishes begin vegetarian (mostly $10-12) and one can add chicken, pork, beef, or shrimp for a couple of bucks. Tofu or seitan are available for the hardcore vegetarians. It was not busy at all 12:30 on a Saturday, but they seem to do a lot of takeout. Dinner specialties range from $14-20 and include game hen, duck, salmon etc. Weekday lunch specials were advertised for around $8, but I did not see what they were. Service was fast, and the food delivered hot. There was a single young waitress today, who was sincerely friendly and showed genuine concern that we enjoyed our meal. If the food is good, I typically don't care about the disposition of who is serving it, but she made us smile, just being herself, so that's a bonus. I look forward to trying them for dinner sometime. Wild boar curry sounds intriguing. read more

Love their Pad Kee Mow! The food is fresh. Their Pad Thai is not oily like other places. I tried a couple places in there area and this place won as my go to for Thai. The food has always been delivered on time. I have never had any issues. They do not over spice and the heat is just right. read more

The lunch special is solid - generous portions and reasonable price. The Pad Kee Mao is tasty, with a good vegetable selection. Their salad dressing is straight peanut sauce, as used for Satay - yum! The vegetable soup is one of the better examples of a clear broth soup I've had. Seafood as a protein option is a $5 upcharge, and a good selection - 2 shrimp, 2 sea scallops (perhaps one sliced in half), 2 calamari bodies, 2 mussels, and piece of perfectly-seared salmon which was still rare on the inside (as it should be). I'm removing stars because the seafood was not perfectly fresh - the calamari was barely passable, and the mussels not at all. It is a Monday, so this may be my failure. I'll come back. read more

Found this restaurant through Yelp while looking for a new Thai place with the family. I really enjoyed my Crispy Duck Pad Thai and have ordered it again since then. Family member ordered Chicken with Peanut Sauce and loved it the first time, but the second time there was a lot less sauce and less flavor. The portion sizes are also HUGE. read more

Have ordered from here in the past. The wait for delivery was always long but the food was good.My husband and I felt like some Thai food today so we ordered it from beyondmenu for delivery. Thai Arroy Dee lists lunch specials on the app so we ordered a couple. An hour later still no food..fast forward.. hour and a half later getting ready to call to check on the status but they called and informed us they dont do lunch specials and didnt even start our order. How unprofessional to wait an hour and a half before calling to inform a paying customer about an issue. Food is pretty good but after that will probably not be back. This was my first and certainly will not be my last meal here. I ordered online. As I am not as tech savvy as the "younger"generation, I was unaware that you needed to pay at the time of the order. When I picked up my food the young woman at the register could not have been nicer and more accommodating. She canceled and re submitted my order with a smile She was lovely. BTW. I've lived in the Upper Darby/Lansdowne area for the past five years, but actually only just discovered this place when I moved within walking distance of it. Thai is my favorite kind of food, so of course I had to try it. I was not let down--the crispy tofu and peanut seitan appetizers are amazing. Masaman curry with tofu and pumpkin curry are great entrees. Service is fast and friendly. Food is very cheap!! My only qualm was that the actual location smells a bit musty/stale. read more

It's always great when a GOOD new place opens up in the neighborhood. My lunch companion and I popped in for something quick and were wowed by the cheerful, immaculate dining room and friendly, charming staff. We ordered chive dumplings and tulip dumplings to start, and were delighted with a beautiful presentation of plump steamed dumplings, expertly seasoned, fresh and delicious. Our main courses of Thai Fried Rice with tofu and Pad Thai Noodle with shrimp were also wonderful, with portions so generous we enjoyed the tasty leftovers into the next day. We can't wait to go back to try more dishes on their large menu! We noticed a separate dining area off the main entrance with longer tables that could accommodate larger parties. Was unaware that there was a lunch menu until I arrived to get my food. when I went to pickup my food I attempted to change my order (I had unwittingly spent $16 for two appetizers when the lunch menu is $7.50) and the hostess adamantly refused. Told my buddy about this place and he didn't like it when he got takeout from them either. I went back here recently and tried the same dish but spicier. It was awful. I ordered here for the first time and was greatly disappointed. The food did not taste good and it did not smell good. I've ordered from multiple other Thai restaurants in the area before and have never had food this bad. When I called in to discuss with a manager I was met with frustration and an unwillingness to fix the situation. I ordered two chicken pad Thais($12 each) and a Thai iced tea($3) so my order came out to $34 with tax,tip and $2 delivery charge. The tea was great but the pad Thai smelled and tasted like a barn/hay/pet store. I explained that I had no problem with paying for the tea but wanted a refund on the pad Thai and suggested that they come pick up the food to prove that I didn't just eat the food and scam them into giving me my money back. I was given the runaround and was originally told they would refund $22 instead of $24 for the pad Thai because they had to come out and get the food. Aka they were charging me a delivery fee. I live a mile away. I argued with them and they agreed to bring me $24 in cash to my house and pick up the food. I agreed since I only wanted a refund on the food I did not eat. I get a call back about 2 minutes later explaining that they can't come and get the food and if I wanted my money back I had to bring everything in myself. Mind you I am sick with the flu right now and just wanted a refund on something I didn't like and felt that I wasn't being unreasonable. After fighting I agreed to bring the food back because now I want my full refund. I bring back my Thai iced tea and two pad Thais, both which were barely touched. As I am arriving the "manager" is driving away. I walk in and am greeted by the very friendly and sweet young lady at the front desk. She knew I was coming for the refund and did not hesitate at all to give me my money. She ran into an issue at first with their system and wasn't able to put the refund back on my card but I suggested a cash refund and she said that would work. Once that was figured out she was only going to give me $32 back because she was told they couldn't refund the delivery fee. At this point I am so disgusted that I had to threaten to call the police for my full refund. It was not the front desk lady's fault and I didn't want to blow up on her because she was just following directions but I had had enough of this terrible customer service. She agreed to give me back my full refund. I thanked her and left. I would also like to point out that I was told the food originally would get to me within 30-40 minutes and it took an hour to actually get to my house. Not to mention the delivery driver went to the wrong house the first time around. Never in my life have I been given such a problem for a refund on food I did not like. Instead of working with us, apologizing for the food or serving the customer, they only argued and proceeded to give us a hard time. This whole thing could have been avoided if they just refunded me for the two pad Thais like I first requested. I will never order from this place of business again. read more

Got take out last night. Ordered a variety items for the family to try. I found the food to be delightful. I especially enjoyed the summer rolls and chicken pad Thai. I came here for the first time on the day after Christmas with my family, and we had the place to ourselves. It's a solid Thai food place, though I wasn't too fond of the dish I ordered, which was the Massaman Curry. It was a little soupier than I was expecting. However, the appetizers were great; we had gyoza dumplings, calimari, and spring rolls. My sister-in-law, who lived in Thailand for a time, loved a certain type of soup they offered (the name escapes me) that has a very strong coconut flavor. I tried it, and it was quite good. The servers were attentive, and we all left happy. I'm happy to see a small non-chain restaurant like this in Pilgrim Gardens, and I hope they do well in that location. read more

This has become our go-to place for Thai takeout or delivery. Standout dishes include their Pad See Ew, Panang Curry, Tom Yum soup, and Larb salads. Delivery is generally no more than 30-40 minutes to Havertown and has always been on time and correct. Very nice owners who go out of their way to accommodate unique requests.
