I just had some ring engraving done....Teresa helped me and discussed the job with me. I just picked it up. I am thrilled !!! Really, I had checked all over town. Some engravers can work on the outside of rings. Others can only work inside the ring. And I'm not criticizing anyone!! I understand that different craftsmen have their specialties!! But Thacker did the complete custom engraving, and I love the result!!.....and I felt the price was fair. If I have any jewelry repair, or custom need, I will definitely go back to Thacker ( & hopefully be able to connect with Teresa!!) read more

I chose to look for an anniversary gift for my wife at Thacker. I was greeted right away and guided to pieces that matched my request quickly. There were style options to choose from and a range of prices. Once I made my selection, it was gift wrapped beautifully and I was on my way. I knew about what I wanted and Thackery provided it without high pressure sales or drawn out "warranty" tactics. I will be going back the next time jewely is the appropriate gift. read more

Lady who tried helping me with a very sentimental piece of jewelry was not helpful at all. She commented multiple times the "diamonds weren't that big" or "I can't believe a man wore this" In reference to my dad who passed away recently. She told me I was better off buying a new piece of jewelry rather than making something special with the only thing I have left of him. I left shocked & in tears ... and obviously with my ring still in my possession! Do not plan on stepping foot in that place ever again. read more

I went in hopeful they would help me fix my engagement ring even though I didn't buy it from them. They were super nice and so helpful they fixed it for me, as well as cleaned it for me. Definitely recommend this wonderful jeweler, great business! read more

Very nice lady helped me. She told me cost. I was having a ring band fixed where it broke. She said they would check my very small diamonds and clean my ring for an added cost. She didn't try to sell me anything else when I told her i couldn't afford that cost.. read more

So I have this bracelet my Grandmother gave me before she passed and my Sister asked to borrow it for a function she was attending out of town. I lent it to her and she came back with a broken finger and my bracelet broken on one side. Oh boy. LOL! It was not her fault though (someone tried to snatch her purse and the bracelet got caught up in the melee), and she was VERY remorseful about it and offered to pay to get it repaired. The way it was broken, I was not sure if anyone could fix it, so I checked around and found Thacker Jewelry online. I took it in and they gave me a quote to repair it, and it was very reasonable. 2 weeks later, my beloved bespoke is back with me and looks as good as new! I could not be more pleased and I will certainly go back to them if I have anything else to get repaired. My Sister is on the mend and is forgiven, and it is like it never happened. :) Very pleasant customer service and prompt service. Thanks Thacker Jewelry! read more

I was hopeful to sell some jewelry, and had been in communication with them prior to arriving. My concerns are not that they were unable to partner with me on the transaction, it was the lack of follow up prior to me driving in to be told no, and further the disrespect I felt while in the store. Yes, I am looking to sell Platinum and (real) Diamond rings, but no, I am not a slum off the streets. I was looked at like I was worthless and a crummy person for selling these pieces. I could have been a returning customer but will not return - to spend any of my Income - at a place that judges a book by its cover without knowing the person they are working with. My suggestion is to update the website to be more realistic of the selling process with customer's. read more

Great place to shop. nice environment and super helpful people.

Thacker is an amazing jeweler with great craftsmanship & quality! If you're looking for lightning fast service or the cheapest prices, Thacker Jewelry may not be for you. But if you want quality, detail-oriented work, great deals on amazing, custom jewelry, and great West Texas service and care, you'll want to come here. My husband had my engagement ring made at Thacker in 2013. He let me know that he was initially shocked by the sticker price on each piece, but he then learned in talking with the ladies on the floor that the actual price of each item is 30-50% off the sticker price. He chose a beautiful setting with amazing details that I absolutely love but that was also affordable for a young college graduate to purchase. I had my ring sized down a few times, trying to get the perfect fit. They let me know to do a little at a time (given we got engaged in the winter) to make sure my ring would seem to fit year-round. A few months later, my husband bought a wedding band with inset diamonds that matched the engagement ring, working with the folks at Thacker to make it a surprise for me! Over the past few years, I would stop by and get my ring cleaned when I was in the area, and it was always quick and easy! I already loved Thacker, but it was made certain when I accidentally damaged my engagement ring and it needed hefty repair to make it wearable again. The shape of the ring was smashed and 4 of the pave diamonds fell out, so I contacted them to see have them fix it - even though I now live in California! I knew someone in CA could fix it, but it was important to me that I got *my* engagement ring back, looking exactly how it did when my now-husband proposed. I mailed off my engagement ring and wedding band (so they could align the inset diamonds) via USPS certified mail (about $25 with insurance) and they got to work. After about a week, they mailed it back to me and it was PERFECT and such a relief to have it on my hand again! I am so thankful for Thacker and their service, and I love their work. I'm glad to be a local and cross-country customer of theirs now! read more

My fiancé and I went to Thacker Jewelry to have our wedding rings engraved. The rings were from high-end jewelers but we were unable to ask these jewelers to engrave them because of time constraints. It's just an engraving, so we didn't think it would be a hassle. However, I definitely overestimated Thacker's ability. We almost got ripped off and they were highly unorganized. We walked in asked them about engraving. They said they could do that but everything went downhill. First, we were quoted incorrectly by a young guy at Thacker. I was quoted $50 for engraving over the phone, which is $100 for two rings. Today, he said it would be $150 a ring and $300 for the two rings (Tiffany's would have charged $20). When I mentioned the quote I got over the phone was $50 a ring, he said they can do that for $50. His excuse was that the pricing has changed recently, so he didn't know. (Then, why did he give us $150 to begin with?) I don't know if that was an intentional attempt to rip-off a customer or not, but I was not impressed. Second, the lady who we spoke to obviously was not aware of the whole procedure. After we left the store, she called us and told us to choose between different typefaces; however, obviously that is not something that can be done over the phone. We had to drive back and ask her to show us the examples. Of course, there was no word of apology. Third, because the first lady was too busy with another customer (she did not even greet us warmly - she did a 'wait' gesture and did not say a word after that), a young lady greeted us. She showed us an engraving examples. We wanted to see the engraving examples in two different typefaces, however, only alphabets were in the two examples and not the numerics (for the wedding day). We asked her to provide us with an example of numerics and she said they kind of look similar. This response kind of warned us that they are not very detail-oriented, which we believe is important for a jeweler. Then, we asked her to show us the booklet or printed materials of typefaces, and she could not find it. She informed us that the manager, Amanda, will be there on Monday but probably she would not have known it either. The whole process was stressful, unorganized, and unprofessional. Their lack of organization (quoting customers without knowing the price and missing store binders) made us feel that they could easily lose our rings as well. In short, I would not recommend this place if you don't want to be charged more than what you are supposed to and if you want an organized service. read more

I needed repairs for an heirloom necklace that belonged to my mother-in-law. The necklace was fragile due to its age and frequent use. One of the sales persons agreed to do her best. She carefully worked to refit each small wire hook. She said it took several hours which I can easily believe. The cost was $12. read more

Oh my stars do I love Thacker. It is hard to trust anyone besides yourself with you beautiful and precious diamonds (Picture me saying this sentence like Spiegel from Lord of The Rings for comic relief). Anyways, your diamonds and jewelry are so sentimental and hold so much meaning. The last thing you want is some dummy to mess that up. Thacker was recommended by a friend who got her engagement ring here. I trust here and there wasn't much on Yelp yet to really give me a firm hold on where I should go. Thacker just moved to a new location on 82nd close to Iola. It is a gorgeous. I walked in and felt underdressed and in awe of all the shiny. I was immediately greeted with multiple smiles and hellos. I explained that one of my tiny diamonds on my band had managed to escape and wanted to replace the run away. Jerrod was calm and confident and took the ring to the back to see the situation. He came back within 5 minutes to let me know it would only be $16 for the tiny spec of a diamond and $18 for the labor. I was shocked with what a great deal that was! I dropped my ring off on a Thursday and was quoted it being ready in no more than a week. Surprise they called me Early Monday and it was already finished. Here's where it gets really good. I showed up. Again greeted like I was royalty. Jerrod was there. Again. He remembered me, went and got my ring. The whole process cost $2 less than quoted and they fixed another tiny diamond on the band that a precious place had sunken in too far. MY RING LOOKED PERFECT. They fixed something for free and charged me $2 less that planned. I feel so confident in Thacker's customer service and values. They want to make you feel like you and your ring/jewelry are special and a priority and they are very good at it. This is my go to jewelry in Lubbock for life. They earned a lifetime customer out of me and I am not even mad. read more

This is our shop for jewelry! Thacker recreated my wedding ring with better diamonds and less money than we could have bought the ring for from a chain jeweler. When the ring wasn't ready in time for our wedding, they voluntarily provided my a very nice "loaner." Every time we deal with the shop, we are treated like very special customers. Joe and Amanda are wonderful! read more

Thacker's is our family jewelers! We trust them completely! Their selection is wonderful, and they can even create a one-of-a-kind piece for you or your special someone. We have purchased several pieces over the years, including a Texas Tech class ring. We would not go anywhere else...family owned and operated, and well worth the trip! read more

I lost a diamond in my halo of my engagement ring. As we recently relocated to Lubbock, I wanted to get my ring repaired locally rather than send it off. The price for replacement and repair was reasonable and fast. To err on the side of caution, they quoted a two week turnaround. I was called within three days advising my ring was ready. The replacement diamond was a great match and the repair appears to be seamless. Highly recommend. read more

Excellent Jeweler! We took a ruby ring my husband's father had given to him over 40 years ago and asked them to design a new ring incorporating stones from his mother's wedding band. They did an absolutely fabulous job. The stayed true to the original design and somehow made it look even better. The ring turned out so much finer than we could have imagined and it is a wonderful reminder to my husband of his mother and father. We could not be more pleased with our entire experience. We dealt primarily with Amanda, but every time we went into the store we were greeted warmly by staff members. We would highly recommend Thacker Jewelry to everyone and would trust them with even our most precious heirlooms. read more

Went in to ask about a ring left to me by my grandmother. The man behind the counter was really short, and snippy with me. He clearly didn't want to help me. Not impressed. I browsed some ofthe jewelry in the case and I thought many of the pieces were over priced and not very attractive. read more

Hands down the absolute best Jewelry shop I have ever used in my life. The people are extremely helpful and extremely friendly. I love the ladies and gentlemen that work there because they have always been so helpful and knowledgeable about anything I need. Even when I bring in an engagement ring in a sock. LOL. I would suggest Thackers over any Jewelry shop within a 1000 mile radius. Thank you for all you have done for me in the past. Just wish Becky was still there read more
