If I knew the percentage was high that I would be in an additional 700-800 dollars, I would have chosen not to proceed. That is a fourth of the cars value. Very disappointed in the transparency of the communication. I would look somewhere else to service your vehicle.

I checked with a GM dealer's service department and the maximum they charge is between $20 - $25. I believe they are fleecing the public with charges like these. Also, for $100 more than they charged, I could have had a 3 year, 100,000 mile warranty at a GM dealer vs. their 2 year, 24,000 mile warranty. Time will tell how good the repairs are. I've learned my lesson.

Although this time I brought it to a reputable shop to have the work done as: 1. Bernings doesn't honor their work, no warranty. 2. I didn't want to go through the same issue I had with the rear axle, paying for repairs and then repeated failures. 3. I' wanted the work done right. The universal joint that was replaced at Bernings turned out to be the incorrect part which then of course failed. In addition, the tie rod end I had replaced at Bernings also failed. As I stated in my previous review, the technicians (I'm using this term very loosely with these clowns) have no clue what they're doing. And the owner, your typical con man.
