Aside from the usual machines, they have a V-squat, hip thrust machine, pendulum squat (at the La Mesa location), hinge/deadlift machine, belt squat, step-up machine, and more. I don't know many other gyms that have all these machines, so it's nice having so many options. Guest privileges vary depending on your membership, so that's worth checking. This gym is close to home, so I usually come here on days I work from home. The equipment is what initially got me interested, but the friendly staff are what really make the experience. It's always a refreshing way to start my morning.

However, my experience with the personal training service fell short of what I expected especially considering I paid $420 for a training and meal plan package. From the beginning, I clearly communicated to my trainer that I am a pescatarian and do not eat red meat. Despite this, the meal plan I received included ground beef and other meat options that did not align with my dietary restrictions. This made me feel like my needs were not fully considered or taken seriously. During our training sessions, I often felt that the trainer was distracted. There were several moments when she appeared to be on her phone instead of actively coaching me, correcting my form, or ensuring I was completing my sets properly something especially important for someone like me who is new to structured fitness training. I did not know the trainer personally and came in as a new client hoping for guidance, support, and professionalism. Unfortunately, I did not feel like I received the value I expected based on the price I paid. Haven Fit is a beautiful gym with great potential, but I wish my personal training experience had reflected the same level of care and attention that the facility itself displays.

This AF is squeaky clean, has a wide variety of equipment, to include accessories like gliders, lifting belts, and fractional weights. The location is secure (as are all AF). You need to buzz yourself in with an app on your phone. This gym is rarely crowded, and when it is, people do not hog machines and are always willing to let you work in sets. The people who attend this gym are focused and serious about their health. The "culture" is one of respect, focus, and cleanliness. People take care of the equipment. Weights get re-racked. There's also a good chance that after months of water damage caused by leaks from the ceiling that there's mold growth in the carpet.

I knew I wanted to make a change--not just physically, but mentally too. Through consistency, dedication, and the incredible support of the coaches and community, I pushed myself harder than ever. The workouts are simple yet totally thrill you. +Quick warm up, sometimes this includes a run, some stretching using props he has at the gym. Although there are many great coaches at East County, I have spent the most time with Coach Paul and Coach Erica. Both are fabulous coaches that are focused on preventing injury and helping you become strong and more athletic. I used to think that Crossfit was too intense for me or that I would bulk up. Spoiler alert, it is actually somewhat difficult to build muscle and found that instead of becoming bulky, I have become more lean and fit. And so much stronger! East County offers 3 different options at each workout, level 1, level 2 and an alternate option (like weight vest Wednesday), plus a fun partner workout on Fridays. Any one of any fitness level is able to join with the help of these fabulous coaches. My favorite part about East County is that it gave me a community when moving to a new city.
