Not happy... I was 15 minutes early and she was 15 minutes late. The salon vibe was not welcoming. Before I could introduce my self she was washing my hair very rough I thought my scalp and ears would be browsed, i wanted to leave, I offered to pay her for the wash so I could leave. should have followed my gut...asked for curls got a wrap, maybe she didn't hear me because she was on the phone 90% of the time prices over the top, over $80 for wash blow dry & style I didn't know this until She started washing my hair. My hair is permed and short (Era length) the service didn't match the cost. I was not happy when I left so I took a few days before writing this review. My regular stylist had to cancel on me last minute for an appointment due to a medical emergency. At last moment I found myself searching for a stylist in the Plano area who could do a retouch relaxer service. I am always unsure of new stylists as you get used to a regular stylist however I was highly pleased with my service and my hair turned out wonderful. I wouldn't hesitate to use Eva again in the future. In the wake of covid I was impressed as she was taking peoples temperatures upon entrance to the salon but she was constantly wiping surfaces to sanitize them. She was very friendly and professional and no tug of war with my hair as far as services rendered. Normally new folks do the opposite of what I want but no issues here. read more

I was in town for a few days and found Ms Eva via Yelp. I am pretty picky about my relaxed, short hair cut. But since I'm pampering myself decided to risk a new stylist. I was not disappointed. I was able to make an appointment online. I quickly received confirmation of my appointment. Ms Eva was professional and warm. So I literally just called. The phone was picked up, and I was greeted with a "Hello". I asked if it was Textures and the woman said that it was Sunday and that the salon was closed. I went on to say I just had a question but could call another time. The woman was very rude stating that she was already on the phone with me in a very annoyed voice. I just hung up. Normally I wouldn't write a review on a website for service received but I couldn't pass up the opportunity on this one. Well after searching on line non stop for a quality hairstylist I came across textures hair studios. Being an African American woman its hard to find a stylist that specializes in healthy hair. My hair had become quite damaged and broken off due to me just doing everything at home. I started doing this because I felt like stylist were always trying to get over essentially. Well I conveniently made an appointment on line at www.textureshair.net on Thursday evening for Friday morning. Well I arrived at my appointment and met my stylist Eva. She asked alot of questions about my hair and its condition which was great, normally stylist just start working on your hair without asking. Well the relaxer was $ 95.00 which I was well aware of upfront. Shall I say this is way over the average price for a relaxer in ANY QUALITY African American Salon especially for the length of my hair. She trimmed my hair, which my length is about 1 inch all over. She added a few tracks for a short BOB and flat ironed it, which was OK. She placed a closure piece on my part which was very awkward and looked funny. I mean it looked like she just stuck a piece of track there. But other than that my hair had body and it was just OK. Well this is essentially when the shit hit the fan. She told me my hair was costing me TWO HUNDRED AND THIRTY FIVE DOLLARS. I had to look at my hair again and think what did she really do worth $ 235.00. Well then I began to get a little PISSED I will admit because my thought was "oh shes trying to get over." But I know if I got angry it would get ugly and I was NOT trying to go to jail in the PLANO/FRISCO area. So I had it, no biggie I paid it, but I was pissed. Because for that I should be overly satisfied with my hair and I wasn't it was just OK. I set my appointment for 10 am and she called me to delay it until 10:20 and probably got their at 10:45 and I still wasn't tripping. After that I still didn't get out of her shop until after 4:00 pm. Well I was the laughing stock over the weekend because everyone is like you paid that to get tracks GLUED/BONDED in. May I remind you this was not a sew in. I guess booth rent in Frisco/Plano area is no joke. I had let it go and was like I just wont be visiting the salon again. She sent me a link to complete a review on her website www.textureshair.net which I did. I wrote a pretty short review. Advised the service was OK but probably wont be going back due to its extremely overpriced. Well I guess this broad didn't like the fact that I didn't praise her and left me a fly ass message yesterday so this is how we got to yelp. Oh yeah and we wonder why all the reviews on her website are ALL GOOD. Because my review still hasn't been posted and I still had given her 3 stars. Her message went on and on about how shes been in the business for 23 years and shes paid the price and so on. So u know I called that ass back right. I have to agree with Leah H. on this one. Definitely overpriced! Unfortunately, I didn't see her review before visiting the salon, as I had only seen the many positive reviews on the salon's website. The quality of services provided do not match the pricing. I showed a picture of the look I was going for, and it was not achieved. The trim/cut was not intricate, yet I left the salon with 95 fewer dollars in my pocket and a flat ironed style that I could have done better myself. I am unlikely to return. read more
