Maybe it should be called Very Voluptuous Vegetarian or Plant Based in that case because no vegan will want to "make it guilty". Tasteless self aware tone deaf wording but that's the smallest gripe. The bigger issue is that the burrito itself is very forgettable, I tried it a second time just to be sure it was mid because I couldn't remember a thing about it from the first time. The vegetables taste fine but nothing in it has flavor. The rice is bland plain white rice(no lime, cilantro, not even salt is perceived), the beans don't taste seasoned with anything either(no onion, cumin, garlic, paprika, or even salt you can taste), the pickled onions are a nice touch but there needs to be more of them to compensate for everything else lacking, and the supposed poblano sauce doesn't stand out at all(just acts as a moistener). The salsa is fine, nothing special(tastes like store bought). The chips are reminiscent of oversized Lunchables nacho chips, not necessary, if they were made in house they would be better. The hibiskey sour is really good though! I might come here for mixed drinks and skip the food. My Husband is an omnivore and feels the same about what he has ordered here as well, so not exactly a fluke with that one menu item. I'll chalk it up to another instance of Winchester's unfortunate taste buds. Side note, if you're vegan looking for food and beer instead of mixed drinks, around the corner Vibrissa actually has multiple delicious food options!

A true divey hole in the wall with killer authentic street-style Mexican food…read more I hesitate to write a review because this is clearly an undiscovered gem. Last time I found such awesome undiscovered Mexican food was at a sketchy taco truck in CT parked outside a strip club. A few months after my first review of that place it shows up on TLC's best food trucks in America. Back to this place. Fantastic street taco style food. Delicious, homemade goodness. Flavorful tacos in handmade tortillas. Al pastor tacos were on point. The quesadilla's are made with a handmade corn tortilla and fresh cheese. A crispy outside with just the right amount of crunch. A bit chewy on the inside with a flavorful bite of creamy cheese and perfectly marinated meat. I'll be making frequent trips back here for the quesadilla. You can also get it in a flour tortilla if you want to rob yourself of the corn experience. A couple salsa options along with chopped onion and cilantro. Plenty of Mexican sodas in the coolers and a few tables to sit and eat. A wide selection of Mexican candies and other grocery items as well. English is fine but practicing that high school Spanish will probably get you a nice smile and maybe, just maybe, a little extra in your taco.

3/14/16 update. +1 star tonight. Stopped by for more tortillas and decided to try the restaurant…read morein the back. I ordered the $5 quesadilla with carne asada (steak) which is made with a freshly made corn tortilla and the sweet lady cooked up the strips of steak on the spot. Odelay vato, great decision! I wasn't expecting juicy, flavorful tender steak nestled in a generous helping of jack (I THINK!) cheese. With some fresh cilantro, onion, green & red sauce, and the always-important-lime, it was all goooooood. I ordered a second for my son who was about to finish up a lacrosse practice and he was like, "where the heck did you get this from; it's weird but awesome!". The weird came from the homemade corn tortilla. Usually queso's are in flour, but I had no complaints and one thing I know about Mexican food is that there are so many regional varieties you have to be an idiot to think you know what it "is" when you see or taste it. Where I have my own SoCal sensibilities from growing up on Baja-style (Tijuana, Ensenada, Rosarito Beach, Cabo San Lucas, etc.) Mexican food, I dig stumbling on something new and I'll give my fine amigos & amigas at El Torito a hi-cinco for some good eats tonight. Oh, and the verde (green) sauce was phenomenal. Sorry, no pics of the food, I was desperate to tear into it and after a few bites...decided not to be THAT Yelper. Next time... Also, CASH ONLY! Got some? You'll need it.

Finally tried this "dive bar" BBQ joint yesterday. Staff was fantastic letting us know right away…read morethat this was true smoked meats and not vinegar based or sugar sauce based BBQ. Draft list was fantastic for a small bar. My 7yo loved the options on the fountain machine. We only tried the brisket but it fell apart in our hands and had a delicious smoke flavor and was very moist. The pretzel and beer cheese was great. The hush puppies were huge. The cheese curds are what I get when I'm in Wisconsin. My Mrs isn't a fan of smoked meats, but I guarantee this will become a regular haunt for our family. Sadly we had other evening music plans so we missed the blue grass pickers.

The hush puppies are very good and we always enjoy them. My wife's pulled pork was not the best. The pork was kind of dry and stringy. She was not a fan of the fries, although someone else had the sweet potato fries and they were five out of five. My son had the brisket which he said was good, but he felt like it was a child's portion. I really enjoyed the ribs, even though I really wanted the bratwurst with the peppers but they were out of them. I had the pink coleslaw which I also enjoyed and if you're a vinegar fan, you will like it too. The potato salad was peppery, and I gave it a three out of five I like pickles in my potato salad. Overall, I'll still go back to this place. I think the food is decent and I like to set up and if I'm looking for ribs, this is where I'm going.

Taqueria Guadalajara has a bit of a tucked away location just on the outskirts of Winchester,…read morewhich gives it that standalone, local spot feel. While having its own building is a plus, parking can quickly become a headache during busy hours, so timing your visit makes a difference. Walking in, there wasn't a host present, which made the entrance feel a little unorganized at first. However, a server quickly stepped in and pointed us in the right direction. From there, the experience improved the service was genuinely friendly and attentive, which helped set a positive tone for the meal. The burrito was the highlight. It came out well prepared with solid flavor throughout, even though it didn't include any sides. Normally, that might feel like something is missing, but the taste was good enough to carry the dish on its own. Pricing leans a bit on the higher side, which is something to keep in mind, especially given the lack of extras. Overall, Taqueria Guadalajara delivers where it matters most good flavor and friendly service even if it has a few logistical hiccups like parking and the initial lack of greeting. It's the kind of place that leaves you debating between a 4 and a 5, but the quality of the food ultimately pushes it into 5-star territory

Salsa continues to be delicious (albeit punishing the next day), and of my three tacos, carnitas was the only one to write home about. Pescado was fishy (not in the good way), and the al pastor was, again, just okay. Pointed out my chipped water glass to the server, who was apologetic and promptly replaced it. Best tacos in the area continue to be Los Altos de Jalisco in Winchester. I said what I said.
