Wife preordered food from the truck for dinner. Spent $70. We got there when they said our food was ready, and was told they were out of the potato salad we pre ordered and they were out of the soda we also pre ordered, and then we had to prove we pre ordered two desserts and they said it was going to be a problem. They gave us the dessert at the cost of someone else's pre ordered meal. We got home and had to go back because they forgot buns and sauce. Brisket was a huge bowl of OK. Pork was just as good as any other BBQ joint. Cole slaw was not good, but that could be because it was warm. Beans were actually the best part. They were thick and seems like they added some meat to it. The bag of Route 11 chips and the 3 of the 4 cans of soda we got were good. On our way to pick up some pizza to feed the family. Chalk it up to another lesson learned in 2020. Bummer I had to spend $70 to learn that. If you can't handle pre ordered food then don't offer pre orders. read more

I've had the pleasure of meeting the co-owner, Michelle at the Farm Brewery one weekend. I was excited for the Texas style brisket (wet/moist/point), and it didn't disappoint! Nothing beats Texas brisket, and I'm so glad they do it right. The seasoning was on point! The chili and corn pudding was amazing as well, and the Sweoke beans were also very sweet and savory. Just had this food truck visit our complex and was an amazing experience. The smell going to the truck to order with the bbq heating was a real draw. We got the brisket sandwich and a traditional pork bbq sandwich. They were both amazing and the sauce they provided on the side was perfect. The pork sandwich was good. The selection of sides was poor (Mac n cheese or coleslaw). Coleslaw was interesting. Sweeter than normal, with coconut. Good for me, but not others in the group. We tried their BBQ while at Barrel Oak winery. We both chose the pulled pork sandwich with a side of Mac N Cheese. The folks were super friendly while ordering and offered to bring us the food inside so we didn't have to wait in the windy cold. The pork sandwich was really good with the right amount of smoke and seasoning, all while been not greasy like some other BBQ tends to be. The sauce that came with was both sweet and tangy and complimented the pork nicely. My husband got the sweet jalapeños and said those were really good as well. Each sandwich also comes with your standard dill pickle. While the Mac N Cheese was delicious and rich, the quantity that you get for $3 is definitely not worth it. It would be pretty hard to eat more, but I think the place would be better off offering a combo meal for a dollar or two more, rather than it being more a la carte style. If the food truck happens to be at any other places we visit in the future, I would want to try their other meats as well. read more

We hired Hog-It-Up to cater our son's rehearsal dinner. We ordered food for 40. We selected pulled pork, smoked turkey breast, mac and cheese and bbq beans. We scheduled for a 5:30 delivery at a Winchester hotel. We could have not been more pleased. Truck showed up 20 minutes and they provided the set up, plates and cutlery, buns and several bottles of sauce. The pulled bbq was tender and juicy with a great smoked flavor. The turkey breast was moist, juicy and tender with an excellent seasoning and smoked flavor. The sides were both on point with the mac and cheese being incredible full of cheese and flavor. Thank so you much for making our son and daughter in laws rehearsal dinner a smashing success. We can not give you more than 5 stars or we would!! Excellent service and super yummy BBQ!!! read more

Amazing BBQ. My husband and I came to the Barrel Oak Winery and this food truck just happened to be here. He got the bbq bowl and I got the brisket bowl. It comes with Tropical slaw (which is amazing!), pinto beans, your choice of meat, and corn pudding. We also got a side of potato salad to share. The bowls were delicious and You get so much food I wasn't even able to eat all of it. The potato salad was so good I wish I had gotten my own, even knowing now that I wouldn't eat everything. The older guy there was super nice and friendly. Also the food was ready pretty quickly and at around 12 on a Sunday they weren't busy. It's awesome that they're local to this part of Virginia. So here's the price list of what we got: Texas Brisket bowl- $11 BBQ Pork bowl- $9.50 Side of potato salad- $3 it is a small container (only 5.5 oz) but totally worth the price. read more

I don't normally leave reviews but my experience here was very upsetting. First of all, the employees were not wearing face masks. Although the tacos tasted okay, they were absurdly cold even though they were picked up on time. We ate from the food truck when it was parked outside the Barns at Hamilton Station. It was recommended by the wine tasting servers. We all chose the bowl - which is corn pudding, slaw, choice of meat, and beans, all served together in one container. I got the pork. Folks are friendly, and the food was great. Meat was tender, sauce was a little sweet and a little smoky. Corn pudding was thick, not soupy. Slaw added some nice texture and crunch to an otherwise soft bowl. read more

Being from South Carolina, we are big bbq lovers. We wanted to try this food truck while at big winery but were disappointed. The sandwiches are okay, meat was dry and you only get a small sauce cup of bbq. The sides also come in a tiny sauce cup and they are 3.50 or more for sides. I couldn't believe the size, so small for that price. Can of Coke was $2 also. Everything was way overpriced and the sizes were just so small. Wish they took more pride in their food sizes and prices for their customers. Wah. read more

While the menu was unique and diverse compared to other bbq trucks, the execution was not there. It was the worst pork I have ever tasted. I am a huge fan of bark on a pork butt, but this was closer in flavor to the char of a grill grate. Mac'n Cheese was mush, menu was over priced, and nachos were tiny. If you advertise your truck as a "B-B-Q Team" one would expect quality consistent with competition level BBQ. read more

LOVE their brisket! Im a BBQ sauce person , but the brisket was seasoned so nicely and was nice and juicy, not dry, so I ate it by itself. The owner also seems to be a fantastic person, very charismatic and really cares about his product and service. He helped with an event at our winery a few weeks ago, and was more than happy to serve an employee who had been working and forgot to grab something from them to eat.
