Penny is great at being a pig. We got her 2 years ago and some friends bought two this summer. We were told Penny would be the size of a large Beagle dog. She's 31" long and 50lbs and not done growing. Mini pigs are never going to stay small. They also take a considerable amount of training to live in harmony with other pets or kids or even "strangers" that may come over for a visit. They charge, they scream, you have to find a vet that knows how to treat them, a fairer to tend to their hooves and want to be the top of the pecking order. The website is set up so we can see photos of the adult parents, to get a good estimate of final size, as well as to see the overall health of the animals, and the care that they are given. After months of research we decided we were ready for a piglet. We found one on their website that we absolutely loved and we sent full payment via Paypal. For two days - nothing. Then I get an email stating that the pig had been sold the week prior (even though the website explicitly states that the website is updated immediately, and all "available piglets" ARE available). This was incredibly disappointing. I asked for a refund and Savannah responded that she had new piglets ready to ship in two weeks, so we opted to see photos of them. She sent a blurry photo of a group of piglets and promised better photos a week later, when they would be weaned. Three weeks later, still no photos, and Savannah doesn't respond to messages for days. I'm eventually told that the babies aren't ready to be weaned yet, and that there is no estimate on when they will be. No further photos are provided, and Savannah continues to ignore messages inquiring about them. We ask for a refund if they're not ready by a certain date, and she does sent it on that date. A partial refund. When we ask her why, she says that $200 is a nonrefundable deposit. This isn't anything we agreed to (we sent a FULL payment for a pig that wasn't even available, and then transferred that payment to a pig that we never received photos of, and that wasn't ready to go home anywhere NEAR the time she had said) and it was nothing she had mentioned in any of our correspondence. When I explained this and requested a complete refund, she again, ignored me. Luckily, Paypal disagrees, and I received my money back via their claims department. I understand that mother nature cannot be controlled (Savannah actually offered to pull one of the babies early but that it would "void the health guarantee"....how horrifying!) but when you tell someone you'll send them photos or check in on a certain date, it is the least you can do to shoot them a note. Taking someone's money and ignoring them is an absurd way to do business. This was a disappointing experience start to finish - why work with someone like that when you're looking to add a member to your family? Following this experience, I spoke with several other breeders before committing to one, and every one of them displayed more courtesy, concern for their animals, and general customer service skills than this person. Do yourself a favor, and visit the mini pig breeders association website (http://www.minipigbreeders.com/) or Juliana pigs registry (http://www.julianapig.com/BreederDirectory.html) for lists of breeders that have met a series of standards, located all over the US. Texas Tiny Pigs is not listed on either site, which is not surprising given her business practices. We now have an absolutely healthy, happy, adorable baby Juliana pig, and our breeder was pleasant, helpful and honest every step of the way! I have two pigs from Texas Tiny Pigs. They will be 4 years old in few months. I gave TTP one star because I think their information was misleading and as an other reviewer said they are not upfront about the true size of their pigs. They were supposed to be around 30 pounds and my smaller one is 84 pounds and the bigger around 150 (Vet said they are healthy). Since I got my pigs I saw in their website's "size replacement guarantee"which I personally find pretty cruel. Before I got them I was not sure how big they were going to be, but fortunately, I have a house and was ready for them to get bigger and destroy my landscape (their favorite distraction :). You may get a smaller one but you should be ready for your pig to get bigger than you thought. I love my pigs but If I had to do all of these again, I would try to adopt one from a sanctuary/animal rescue. Too many have been abandoned or surrendered by their owners because of breeders who promise an unrealistic size. Please, do your homework. There is a ton of information online about potbelly pigs (found my so called "miniature pigs" to act the same as potbellies) They can be great pets if you have the time for them but on the other hand, they can be challenging, aggressive and destructive if they get bored. read more

Do not buy a pig here! I bought my pig mouse here and he is now over 100 pounds. He is still small for a pig but her site completely misleads you to what you are actually getting yourself into. We were also given the run around about when mouse would be flown to us and it ended up 2 weeks after the original date. We picked him up and guess what. TTP does not simply settle on a variety reputed to be small (e.g. Juliana): they selectively work with different varieties to produce the smallest and most sociable potbellies around. However, If you're considering a mini-pig, do your homework first, so that your expectations of the eventual size and weight of the animal are realistic. And it's equally important to be realistic about the responsibilities of the owner. These animals have the intelligence of a 2 or 3-year-old human child. They think and feel, and they learn from the behavior of their human guardian. If their keeper rewards bad behavior, they'll continue to scream for more cupcakes and ice cream. If their keeper ignores them, they'll think of ways to get his attention (destroying computers, pulling out dresser drawers, breaking into refrigerators). In one sense, they're too smart for their own good--they figure out ways to defeat their owners in the battle of wills, and next their heartless owners, upon finding the few sanctuaries overcrowded, cruelly "dispose" of their pet. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! After paying $900 for a "micro" pig (airfare included) let me start by saying the excuses for waiting to receive my piggy were getting ridiculous! I decided I wanted to pick him up instead and take the 4 hr. drive. I NEVER GOT MY MONEY BACK FOR THE AIRFARE. My piggy came to me with horrible skin, I asked what was wrong with him and Savannah told me he had dry skin and just put lotion on him. After a few days, I took him to the vet and he had SARCOPTIC MANGE. Very contagious to me, my kids and other pets. This could have been a complete disaster! Thankfully we caught in in time. He also had come to me sick with a cold, needing antibiotic injections. Having him for 5 months, and only feeding him fresh fruits and veggies along with his regular feed, he has gained 70lbs+ A pig I was told would NOT get any bigger than a small beagle, as stated on their website. 15-18lbs max. yeah right! Regardless, I called Savannah to ask her some questions regarding his weight gain and of course she blamed me for over feeding him, (which I don't) He is an indoor only piggy and I also asked her advice because he is growing too big for my home. I was thinking of releasing him back to texastinypigs because it would be better for him to be with his own kind, and roam free in a farm. Savannah quickly stopped me saying HE IS NO GOOD TO US HERE, HE IS NEUTERED!!!! " I DON'T WANT HIM" was her answer to me. Horrible! I have heard horrible stories about Texas Tiny pigs since purchasing our micro mini 2.5yrs ago. They are wonderful pets but Texas Tiny Pigs is not upfront about the true size of their pigs. Ours is double the weight they projected and she has always been on a regimented diet. She 100% indoors and leads a very healthy lifestyle. We adore her for who she is but I would not recommend this company. They provide false advertisement about the size of the pigs they breed. I have 3 pigs from Texas Tiny Pigs and they are healthy weights at OVER 100 pounds each. Knowing what I know now about mini pigs they are not meant to be fed according to TTP's feeding instructions. Feeding per their instructions will cause a pig to starve and be severely underweight and unhealthy. I have repeatedly attempted to educate the breeder on Facebook and she has updated her settings to prevent posts on pigs purchased from her. Do your research on mini pigs before purchasing and check out the American Mini Pig Association for the TRUE FACTS about mini pigs to prevent more of them ending up in shelters due to lies from breeders. No healthy mini pig will be under 50 pounds full grown and they grow until about 5 years of age. read more

I had begun this journey in deciding to purchase my pig from Texas Tiny Pigs,if had to do it again,I WOULD NOT.This began with me splitting my payment into 2 different methods,upon reaching out to them to make sure it was ok,I was instantly messaged back numerous times until payment went through.I thought 'great,they're on it.'WRONG' I then heard nothing at all from them concerning details as to how this process works and was never contacted back when I reached out.Thats a lot of money to pay to be ignored.I finally threatened them and only then was contacted back.Upon receiving my pig,there was NO VET RECORDS as to the deworming or anything about his neutering,the website states these things would accompany the pig.I've had him a week now and yesterday and today he seemed to be bloated and uncomfortable,I took him to the vet because TTP didn't return my email or text message as also promised on their website.I did take the feeding schedule sent with my pig from TTP,the vet was shocked by the dietary layout.I had explained my experience with this entire debacle and the vet suggested I leave a review for people due to food recommendations sent with the pig,after everything that happened,I have obviously taken this advice.This vet has been in business for over 20 years and specializes in exotic and farm animals.THESE PEOPLE SHOULD BE OUT OF BUSINESS.Let me finish by saying I am so completely in love with this little guy and will love him despite how big he gets because,I don't trust that either. read more

Eek. This is a shady business. They have a D rating with the BBB. They advise starving pigs to keep them at a tiny size. They ship week old babies to people that should still be nursing with their moms. Many of these poor pigs are sick, malnourished or dying. Please do your research before buying a mini pig. We bought a Juliana (supposedly less than 5% pot belly) pig in 2012. We kept him on a strict diet of fresh veggies and occasional soy milk for protein. When I say limited I'm talking once a week, for the first year and a half of his life. They guaranteed that he'd be no taller than 15 inches tall (now he's more like 18-20) and if you didn't over feed him he'd be around 35 lbs. First of, he's taller and at least twice in weight what they said he'd be. Secondly, we tried calling them over and over again for help with his litter training and behavior and got NOTHING! Nothing. We didn't harass them, we simply emailed them two MAYBE three times for help, seeing as we've never owned a pig and we got nothing. They're horrible!!! Don't ever EVER buy a pig from them. Now we have this POT BELLY PIG (I'll post a picture don't worry) and we didn't sign up for this. We love him because we've invested so much time and energy into him but this isn't what's best for him! I feel pretty certain that they're pulling these pigs from their moms too soon, ours will not bond with us hardly at all. It's be very very hard. Do your research, buy from a certified breeder. I researched and researched and decided to pay twice as much to get a tiny pig form Texas tiny pigs. I should have know something was up when I still have yet to see a picture of the mother up on her website, but I paid for my pig and received it that week. I was in love and still am. With all that research I learned not to get a pig before its weaned and at 8 weeks of age. My pig was 5 weeks old and still nursing/ needed formula and weighed under 2lbs when shipped cross country to me. But everything went ok but she did get shipping ammonia which she got sick very quickly from but that happens, but after those humps went very well. I was annoyed that i spent that much money and didn't receive any health records no pedigree paper work nothing but a small bag of powdered formula. I'm a vet tech and did research but I had no idea how to take care of her I didn't know I even had to give her formula all the bag said was how to mix it I thought she at pellets and veggies I've never owned a pig, its not like a dog and you can just ask someone or Google it so I was very displeased with the lack of care and attention, and she gained so much weigh so fast and yes I do feed her what is recommended but I do admit she is a little over weight now. I even emailed Texas tiny pigs to see if i could get pedigree papers, which cost 25$ apparently yet i agreed to buy it but then never heard a word back from them. But my main problem now is my pig is only 8months old and is 87lbs. So I really don't recommend them when you can pay way less and get the same thing a big pig. I have a hard time even getting a response from them ever but know I no that their just to busy because their popping pigs out fast then they can sell.
