I have been wanting a Goldendoodle for at least five years, and specifically, a RED one! I finally purchased a property in California last year and began looking for a reputable and trusted breeder. Literally the best thing that ever could have happened to us when we decided to get a family dog. So glad I listened to the multiple friends and acquaintances that recommended SnickersDoodles to us. This is going to be long but I think this story is worth being told so it doesn't happen to anybody else..... Mother's Day wknd Snickersdoodles posted 2 girl F1b mini goldendoodles for sale on their site. I reached out to the owner Becky, she said she was out of town and that her daughter was selling the puppies that wknd but "green" girl was already claimed. I talked to her daughter and came up with a time to pick up the "yellow" girl. An hour before our pickup she texts that somebody else made it there before us to get the "yellow" girl and that she was sold. I asked about the "green" girl and she said "somebody is on their way to get her." I was a little upset bc we were on our way to get the "yellow" girl but as per the daughter it was first come first serve. But yet the "green" girl wasn't picked up and we could have come much earlier in the day if we had known that was the rules. Now the terrible part.... Yesterday a different girl from that same litter was on Snickersdoodles site for sale. It said that somebody backed out on purchasing her. I immediately reached out to Becky and told her we wanted her. She told me that I could come pick her up the next day. She then preceded to send me the weekly update emails. We bought lots of stuff for our new fur baby. Next day my husband and I left work early to go pick her up. Our 3 kids were ecstatic. We get there, we PayPal Becky the money, and we leave (the kids are fighting over who gets to kiss and hold our fur baby) We get 5 mins down the road and Becky calls me, and says "I think you have the wrong puppy, come back and we can sort this out" Being the good people we are, we turned around and headed back. (Our first mistake, we should have kept driving) We get back and she comes out of the kennel and doesn't say a word to me. Instead she is frantically scrolling/looking at her phone. This silence last another 5 mins while I'm holding our puppy and the kids are screaming in the car that they wanna hold her. She then tells me "that's the wrong dog". I proceed with telling her no this is the exact dog from the pictures. (She sent me 4 pics, all of the same dog the day before.) She is silent again for a while. She then tells me "I'm going to take her inside and scan the DOGS microchips just to see what the problem is." She takes the puppy from me (our second mistake, we should have never let Becky take her out of our possession). She is inside for 10 mins and then comes out with no dog. Without looking me in the eyes she tells us she is sorry, but that our dog is already sold and we can't have her. I tell her absolutely not, that dog was sold to us and is ours. She then says "I already refunded you your money." So she took our dog out of my possession under false pretense and then cowardly while inside refunded me my money. Turns out there was never any other dogs from the same litter in the kennel, so she knew exactly what she was doing when she took her back inside. I told her "I don't want the money back, I just want our puppy." Again she says she made a mistake and she is sorry. Again, I say I don't want an apology or my money back, I want my dog, the dog that I purchased and was stolen from me. I also remind her of the first come first serve rule from Mother's Day wknd. She states this family already had a deposit down and I remind her that I ,as well, have had a deposit since feb 2023. She then starts getting upset and says "I'm human, I made a mistake" Now not only has she stolen our puppy but she is upset at us!! By this point my kids are crying and asking where their puppy is. She again states she sent the money back on PayPal. I ask her what about the gas to get down here (45 mins away) and the $68 PayPal fee (that's not even mentioning the 2 hours of leave for both of us leaving work early) She then without saying anything goes inside and grabs a $100 and tries to give it to me. I tell her no, I want our dog. She throws the $ at the drivers window of our car and stomps away. I quickly look at my PayPal and see she shorted us $100 of what we paid for the puppy. So she made it seem like she was reimbursing us for the gas and PayPal fee but actually she already shorted us $100 on PayPal. My kids screamed and cried the entire way home. I cried over how heartbroken they were. We had already named her and bought her a tag and collar with her name on them. I'm mostly writing this because I never ever want any kid to have to go through what my 3 kids did. It's my job as their parent to protect them but yet I let this happen. I felt so helpless in the whole situation and I'm upset with myself. I should have never handed our puppy back. I called PD just to get clarification and yes, once Becky took the dog (even if under false pretense) and refunded the money (without our consent) we lost possession of our puppy. The puppy was gorgeous (I attached a pic) and I really hope whoever purchases her gives her a good life. I know we would have. read more

My family has 4 SnickersDoodles and they're amazing! We've tried all the colors and they're all fabulous

I emailed asking if I could test my allergies with some puppies and was told to go through the normal process of committing to a litter / putting down a deposit. To me this felt like a soft "no." Instead of financially and emotionally committing to a puppy I wasn't sure I'd be able to manage my allergies with, I ended up contacting AKC breeders of standard poodles (who are always completely non-shedding). Both breeders were happy to allow me to visit without any sort of financial commitment. One even offered to let me meet her adult poodles. I'm happy to report my allergies are very manageable with standard poodles and I've had my pup for 2 months now. Her temperament also seems a lot calmer than most doodles I meet. In my opinion, any ethical breeder should allow you to visit without a financial commitment, if you seem serious and it's for a good reason like testing allergies. Update: The owner of snickersdoodle's comment below describes a process in which you put down a deposit before selecting your puppy (i.e. non-refundable deposit). This means you pay a deposit before testing your allergies. I'd like to also mention after she responded to this Yelp review, she sent me an impolite email that came off as unprofessional. I've never received any sort of correspondence like that from any ethical AKC breeder I've talked with. read more

The right time came for us to adopt a puppy and we discovered Snickersdoodles in our geographical area. They seemed to be expecting the beautiful "petite" pups we were interested in, but were curiously unresponsive to requests that we visit, despite having accepted our $250 personal check deposit. As we waited for the big day, we were again eager to meet "Mom" (human and canine) but with no response. We were not told where "on the list" we were. There were weekly emails about the new pups. At the 7th week, we received the news that the pups were not "petite" but rather "mini" (ie. bigger than anticipated). We stayed with the male we had our hearts set on, although we had the option to "opt out" and start the process again. We never were invited to visit, not was an address available. At week 7 we received a 7 page purchase agreement...the "creme de la creme" which gives the purchaser NO rights and ALL of the rights to the breeder. You will only be given this agreement to sign at the 24th hour. You have to agree to pay for all litigation for both breeder and purchaser if it comes to that. I highly doubt any attorney would ever purchase a dog from Snickerdoodles. I requested one change, "to agree to terminate the contract after 24 months". Even that was unacceptable. Guarantees regarding the pup's health is limited to a 2 year warranty or 5 years.... if you agree to purchase a certain dog food [for 5 years] through the agency of the breeder! Finally we went to pick up our pup, having received several emails about "Cash Only" being emphasized ( our previous check had cleared of course). We requested the proferred $50 "training session". This turned out to be a ludicrous 5 minutes with an obviously not professional person. Better training tips are on YouTube, save your $50, it's a ripoff. We never did meet the breeder. In summary: 1. A $250 deposit is required to be placed on a waiting list, a personal check is accepted. 2. Once on the list, press to find out your place on it. 3. You can expect weekly updates, which were informational, but no visits. 4. Be prepared for a change in size at last minute. 5. Demand to review the purchase agreement before sending in your deposit. 6. Don't waste your money on the "Trainer session". Aside from the negatives, we are enjoying our seemingly healthy pup. read more

I had reached out to Becky multiple times requesting a copy of the lab report for parasites. She never provided this. After she posted her response to my review I emailed her yet again requesting the report. That is when she finally admitted that the test was never done in error. I asked her to update her Yelp response but she has not done this. I also recommended that going forward she test the puppies within a couple of days of them going to their new homes instead of a month prior to this. Also note that each puppy should have an O&P test done, not just one random one from the whole litter. read more

Our little boy has been with us for 3 weeks now and I could tell from day one how much work Becky and her team had put in to help socialize the pups for happy home life- he has been sleeping 6+ hrs straight through in his crate at night, he's picked up commands faster than I can keep up with teaching them, he's unfazed by things like our coffee grinder and broom, and he's overall a well adjusted and very engaged pup! Maybe I caught Becky on a bad day but I emailed her some clarifying questions about the breeding process and referenced these reviews on Yelp and she flipped out on me. These were some quotes from her response: "I'd be glad to destroy your check." "My Facebook reviews speak for themselves." "Those Yelp reviews are ridiculous." "First off, If you are not 110% comfortable with me being your breeder, by all means, please find someone who you feel is a better fit. Her comments came off extremely unprofessional, arrogant and defensive. I withdrew without hesitation.
