Where do I start? First I have shopped here many times. I have not always been happy with some of the prices but figured I can find some bargains some of the time. I have been very surprised at the staff though...I've seen & heard 2 people(a tall man,balding,heard he's the manager & a woman named Yolanda)berating their employees on the sales floor, as well as being very rude to customers). Plus there is a young man who they call for helping take items out to your car(don't know his name but he's young,bald & Hispanic)who has a very bad attitude with people. I got his help taking a large dresser out & he was very rude & swore a lot especially when I informed him I was not able to help him load it in my car. I have also seen this same man storming through the store swearing quite loudly in front of everyone about staff members. I do not want to shop in a store where management doesn't keep this kind of behavior under control, especially since I have young children who heard this twice. I once asked a cashier for the store's corporate number & was told the manager would have to contact me first. To top it off, there are employees who I guess are in charge of keeping certain sections of the store clean who are always picking up. I tried to shop in the shorts aisle & heard an older black woman gossiping with an older Hispanic lady with short blond hair about their coworkers. When I tried to ask them for help, they rudely brushed me off & continued their conversation. I tried asking for help again & the black lady informed me they were busy & a cashier could help me. After that, nothing could convince me to shop here again. I really hope I hear from corporate when I call because this store's employees are horrible and very rude & it's not a good environment. I used to spend over $200 here at a time on various items but feel like my hard earned money should be spent at a reputable store with a good staff & better management. Plus their dressing rooms are horrible(no locks on doors & anyone can see people changing, & there are cameras I saw aimed at it). Very disturbing. I will definitely not shop here again & will recommend to my friends and family that they shop elsewhere. read more

I went here on a Sunday afternoon about one hour and thirty mins to closing. When I entered the store I soon saw a princess outfit that I wanted for my daughter in the future I had to smell the item though because something in there or near it smelled like poop it wasn't the costume thank god. ( I definitely washed the costume on delicate that night). So the bad points are it wasn't as organized as other thrift stores, majority of the items are definitely over priced, they didn't have as much as I expected in the mens section however I did come at the end so I will update my review when I try Friday morning. For the people complaining about the dressing rooms I agree with the store... it is always tons of people in there and a very long line so they should close the dressing rooms. The good points are I found many great items, it is a big building with many items to look through and everyone as far as I could see that worked there was polite. its a standard thrift store with a lot of junk. its a fun place if you happen to like searching through said junk to find neat old things. old cameras, typewriters, old games, rocking chair, vintage rackets,etc. (you will have to dig.for good finds)as for the prices, they're fantastic especially on certain special color days. read more

I was there last week 2.21.15 shopping with my friend and we had found quite a lot of stuff. We were in the dressing room, my friend tried on her 15 items and i waited to use the same dressing room since we were sharing a buggy. There were some people in line so I was nice and patient and let them use the other dressing rooms. So I go in after her and I'm like 10 items in and the very heavy set white woman w short hair and tattoos working the cash registered yelled 6 items or less two times in a 3 minute period. Who does that?? I was in the middle of changing and I felt like i was rudely being rushed. There was a black lady there that was talking crap about having to wait, well i mean it is a clothing store, you do take a chance having to wait for a room, plus she had 2 items that she probably wasn't going to buy and I had 8 items that i definitely was going to get. So when I finished dressing, I thought maybe I had not seen the sign so when i exited, i looked.. there is NO SIGN. I just thought she was rude and it's bad for business. I almost wanted to put the $70 worth of items back because of your employee's poor attitude and it was unnecessary, crappy and unprofessional to yell like that. I ended up buying the stuff after my friend told me to relax, otherwise I would've just put it all back and walk out. Just thinking about the situation makes me mad, here I am spending my hard earned money at this store and I got disrespect and embarrassment in return. I think this employee needs to be taught or retrained on how to act and dress with professionalism. I don't know her name but I do remember what she looked like. Ha ha ha, yeah the mirrors and neon threw me off a bit too at first. Okay, what I love about this store: housewares, kids clothes are always a great deal and I find plenty in all my kids sizes, I love the books section and have found great bargains on educational books for my kids for a dime or quarter each, lots of toys but usually messy in that corner, well organized by size, found some great sheet sets in good condition and the occasional piece of clothing for me. What I don't like about them: no mirrors in the dressing room and curtains rather than doors (got walked in on once :( ), always a line to check out, not a lot of employees to help you find something- you're pretty much on your own here, and the amount of clothing seems to be overwhelming. Oh, and the number one downside here? NO BATHROOM!!! Something in my daughter's bladder goes off once we go through the door that sends us next door to Big Lots every time. But, I do usually find some nice bargains here and it is on my list of regular stops to check when I have a few extra dollars, but not my favorite. HTH! read more

My mother and I really like Texas Thrift. I've never had a problem finding clothes at cheap prices. The toys, however are a big broken mess! Most of the toys are broken and beyond repair and should be in the trash. I've always been able to find really cool purses there that come from Sam Moon and such. I like the clothiing. Most of it is really cheap and in good shape. I love Mondays because certain tags are $.99Yes, it's a little smelly (musty) but IT'S A THRIFT STORE! You are going to expect that sort of thing. read more

I frequent Texas Thrift store w/my niece who his five kids. She has great luck finding Toddler clothes for her 3 & 11 yr old. You can find name brands items if you really look- like Carters, Old Navy, Tommy, one time I found a RL shirt...my husband founds some brand new dress shoes for church there also. Although I have been happy w/the items in the store, I have a MAJOR problem w/the store associate(s). One punk named DEVIN actually yelled at me, was so rude I was livid and he had no professionalism what so ever, I was extremely shocked at how the boy spoke to me and had an attitude like a teenager. I will never go to that store ever again as well as my shopping clan. I ask to sw the manager & a very rude & worthless lady named Sophia said she was the acting manager & she laughed at me and never apologized for the rude behavior of her employee- Devin. I have never in my life been treated so poorly w/such disrespect from a store. I cannot believe that store associates have no regard in dealing with customers...grant it they are working in a THRIFT STORE------hellloo so what do you expect? I'm just glad I have the fortitude to know how to treat people with respect and appreciation. as a single mother of 4 daughters ( 4,11,16, and 23)- i have found this store to be a blessing. my 16 bought her halloween costume for $3.00- i talked this reluctant teenager into at least checking the thrift store before spending 30 of her hard earned dollars at party city- she is now a believer. i can buy 3 paperbacks for $2.00-- indulging my favorite pass time guilt free. you can bet i will be there when the doors open for tax free weekend. another thing is the proceeds go to helping a childrens organization, so i can dress my children in style, read, and help someone else i need. read more
