I love the selection. Prices have gone up considerably. I have seen fast fashion t-shirts for 5.98 and up. Came today, 04/08/21, and the line was horrendous. Thank goodness another cashier came to save the lone checker after about 25 min. waiting in line! Overall, OK experience. Come when there's sales to make it more worth your while. read more

I have been going here for years and have loved it. BUT that was before the new management hired this manager I will include a picture. He was accusing people including myself of having a fake 20. But when they marked my other smaller bills they were the same color so I questioned it very nice I had my 3 kids with me. He was irate shooed me off and told some other person to talk to me while he glared and rolled his head at me I told him he was not a nice person. He started yelling at me again sending my little daughter running out of the store crying so I called him a jerk. He again started yelling at me saying he didn't like my language for calling him a jerk and banned me me from the store. So I am disgusted the way the management treats their customers. The poor cashier was just stunned. I wonder how he handles really upset customers who actually cuss. He is one who should ever be in management, ever. read more

Well, I pulled into this place thinking it might be interesting, but it's kinda.... not. There's a small section to the right that has old, outdated and just junky electronics - tube tvs, old cd players, hair curlers, bags, VHS tapes. The rest of the place is used clothes, which is OK if that's what you're looking for. It smelled kinda funky in here and it was on the dark side which seemed shady to me. I felt dirty in here.....scared to touch some things without my hand sanitizer to keep me safe. The stuff in here the bag ladies wouldn't want. Prices are ridiculous on some stuff.....luckily I did score ONE item....but I doubt I'd chance a return visit. I did get a cool old desk for $49.99 that I can refinish. Bring a jacket, it's cold with the fans swirling. Pay attention to green and red tags. Finding the bathroom was nearly impossible. Had to hop on over to Big Lots for that. While I didn't have any issues, my friends said it "smelled" and the employees wear gloves. I imagine so long as you check for stains and wash before using it should be fine. read more

The prices are ridiculous - brand name clothes are going for brand name prices. Blazer jackets for $40-$80, pants for $20-30, and shirts for $10-20. I get that they have to charge enough to cover their operating expenses and that they're closer to the University of Texas at Arlington's campus, but there's something wrong with a thrift store's business model if someone can purchase a pair of identical shorts for a significant amount cheaper at Target. read more

Upon walking in, I was so surprised to find how clean and organized the store was. Everything was organized by type and I was happy to see shirts organized by color. Of course you won't find the most up to date season clothing, but you will find good quality, used clothing at a good price. They run specials and based on the color of the tag, a different discount will apply which is cool. They also have dressing rooms to try before you buy - there is a no refund policy. read more

I get why Texas is in title it's huge inside. There is dust so be mindful if you have allergies. My throat closed up a bit. But that happens at places like this. There is a lot of junk especially in the non clothing areas. However, I was able to find lots of awesome finds in my size. Actually, found more skirts here than any store lately both thrift store or otherwise. The place wasn't super busy, plus with so much room people can spread out. All of you complainers about how dirty this place is, uh hello it is a thrift store. I LOVE this place, and they really have cleaned it up, they do rearrange the store alot I think trying to find the best set up still. It has a HUGE selection of clothes and shoes. I shop for my kids clothes here and people are always asking me where I get such cute clothes... they never believe that I'm a thrifter, sure you have to go through some seriously ugly stuff to get to the good stuff, but I always find a cute dress or 2 everytime I go. They also have a good selection of games and puzzles... I actually found dream phone here.. in perfect condition!!! There prices are better than goodwill, salvation army and thrift town, I love it! Most holidays they have a 50% off the entire store, but get there early because the line gets long. read more

Prices are somewhat high on clothes in comparison with Goodwill, for example. However, they do have a nice selection of dresses. I would say this is a great thriftstore for BOOKS and DRESSES. Other than that, it's just so-so. read more

I agree with most other reviews about the layout of this store - I really enjoyed how everything is organized by size and then by color. It's appeasing on the eyes and helps me browse quickly for things I'm looking for. Their shoe display is another story, as they have various sizes and styles thrown on a shelf display above the clothes racks. Boots are towards the back of the store, and is really the only organized shoe section I could find. Disappointed in the men's T-shirt selection, as a VERY good portion of it (60%-70% if not more) are old employee shirts. Like, that's really it? Some of the women's selection I browsed was good quality, but BE AWARE OF AN ITEM'S VALUE!! Do you really think a pair of used Guess boots should be $35? I found some cheap tops ranging from $2-6 but $11 for a used shirt is a little much, and I didn't find ANY clothes with brand new tags still on them. That being said, I found some great items that I was satisfied with, but I really had to search and put back a lot of things I would have been interested in, had not the price been so high. To touch on the dressing rooms - I had never previously been here (apparently there used to be no locks?!). There's a mirror inside and a few hooks to hang clothes/purse. I was skeptical after reading a review about the possibility of cameras facing towards the dressing rooms - so upon entering one (there are only THREE), I hung up my clothes and took a REALLY good look around the ceiling and walls. I believe the cameras that a Yelp! reviewer mentioned were the black dome cameras that were placed on the ceiling, but closer to the checkout counter (which is in the vicinity of dressing rooms). Peering closely, they did not SEEM pointed AT the dressing rooms, but the fact is, you just DON'T KNOW. I admit I didn't feel very great in there either - dingy and small, but I need to try things on before I purchase, especially when the purchase is final. it just would be nice to not have to try and smush yourself up by the door and flip a shirt on as you flip your own off, for fear of some camera catching a glimse of you and who-knows-who-views-those-cameras. Bottom line: good selection, good organization, large store, needs a good cleaning, and needs to address the dressing room camera fear - at least hang some curtains from the top to make the female clientele feel more at ease. read more

Mostly clothing (Which I've never looked through) but has a decent sized book and home goods section. I can sometimes find some decent linens too. The furniture & picture frame sections are a joke. Biggest complaint is that it is almost always packed & they normally only have one check out line open. read more

Texas Thrift has always been one of my favorite thrift stores in Arlington. I haven't found much I like lately that's worth the price but I have found some amazing things in the past. However, the lower rating is due to the remodeled fitting rooms. Having a real door *gasp* and a lock *omg* is great! But now it also looks like there are cameras on the ceiling that possibly face into the rooms. I understand wanting to prevent theft as I've witnessed it happen in there myself but personally, my privacy is not worth it. I'd rather have the barely there curtains and doesn't-realllock locks back. read more

Texas Thrift is a huge place with a *lot* of goodies. You just have to look. It's no fancy place, but what do expect of a thrift store? The clothing is organized by type and color. Shoes are located on racks above clothing racks. Like others have said, this makes things a little complicated. As other shoppers are standing in the aisle looking for shoes, and you are scanning the clothes underneath, it gets a little crowded. It would be more desirable to have a designated shoe area for men and women, if there could be room for that in the store. The prices are overall not too high. On certain items though, they can be a bit shocking. $40-$50 for a used coat in an old style and unknown brand seems a bit too high, especially for a thrift store. Other items though are very reasonably priced. The environment is neither rude or very friendly, it just depends on who is working there at the time. I would recommend this store to thrift lovers who are hoping to find some cool things if they are willing to search through the large selection. read more

I've visited this thrift store several times, and it's gradually become more disorganized, more dirty, and the prices have continued to increase! Recently I saw a used jacket priced at $24.95?! Who is pricing this stuff?!! The is staff is rude and unhelpful. It's always hot and there's never enough shopping carts. This must be the biggest, cheesiest thrift store I've ever been to. There is mirror all around the wall and the funky smell that hit you as soon as you walk through the door.. My husband and I get a kick out of looking at the items that they're selling and also to people watch. Some people has basket full of junks. I came into this thrift store because I pass by it every day on my way to campus. There are so many things and I was very excited at the selection they had! Until I saw the prices. I found an amazing skateboard, it had a lot of wear and tear, but still usable and it was 50$! I couldn't believe it was that price, way too high! 20$ is the most I would've given for it. Overall, its a pretty good thrift shop out of the many in DFW. Again, I shop for mostly furniture and electronics. They are a bit small for furniture but they do have a nice area for the electronics that are neatly organized. The store became a bit better when they relocated some areas of the store and cleaned it up. The prices can be a little steep sometimes but overall they aren't bad. They have a deal where if you donate 6 items you get a coupon to get 30% off your entire purchase when you use it. They also have daily 50% off sales too. I would recommend this place. read more

This is one of my favorite thrift stores. What I like: It's fairly large so selection is good and the prices aren't bad, especially if you find something in the sale color of the day. My husband entertains himself with good size book selection. Also they do have some furniture. What I don't like: the shoes have been placed on top of other racks, so to look at them you must walk up and down each isle, looking at the top of each clothing rack, squeezing by all the clothing shoppers. It is much more convenient to the customer to have the shoes in a single location so that shoe shoppers can find them. I simple don't bother anymore. Also, the music is so loud in this store that it's actually a distraction, sometimes to the point of irritation. Certainly doesn't encourage leisurely shopping. Such a hard thing to get right? They also say they don't have a public bathroom, which they do as I've used it many times. The dressing room situation is horrendous with droopy curtains barely covering the doorways. They have an awesome selection on books... The prices on them are great, too. I love looking through their knick nacks bc I love vintage-y things and this is the place to go for them! However I refuse to buy the clothes they have!! Soo expensive. Saw a night gown for little girls that had 3 noticeable holes for $6.99! I can buy a brand new one for that price! To stop comments on the stores interior design: I believe this used to be a night club. Hence the mirrors and floor changes and the funky smell. Once a building has been a bar, short of gutting it, you can't get rid of the smell. . Also, since when does what a thrift store LOOK LIKE INSIDE matter? JEESE! Get a grip people! When they rented the space they weren't going to spend money making it nice. IT'S A THRIFT STORE! And it has some very nice things for sale there. That would cost more in a "high end" thrift store. There is no organization to this store. I came in to grab a swimsuit for my daughter and am very unimpressed with their selection. Their prices are all over the place $20 for kids Nike shoes that are so worn there are hole in them! And some of the kids swimsuit bottoms had streak marks in them!!! When I finally got in line to checkout I had to wait over 10 minutes for their one cashier, and there were plenty of other employees just walking around not even bothering to open another register. I will not be returning to this dirty, poorly managed, and overpriced thrift store. read more

Well, I go here for books. They have a gigantic selection of books. They're all under a dollar too, even the hardbacks. Anyhow, my issue with this place is the nasty factor. While book shopping my friend that was with me said "hey come look at this" so as I'm walking towards her i feel a lump under my foot only to look down and see I had stepped on a huge wad of balled up toilet paper. UGH! The carpet in the book section looks like it hasn't been vacuumed since Clinton was in the White House. The dressing rooms are never occupied when I've been in the store. I have only tried to try something on once and disliked the dressing rooms because they're those awkward curtain things, not a door. My issue with check out is that the cashier stand is shaped weird so you never know if someone's in line or just standing around. The cashier that checked me out Thursday was really nice though. There is a large selection of furniture. Area rugs, entertainment centers, quilt racks, etc... There's a lot of electronics, my friend got a hair straightener for like 3 bucks. This isn't my favorite thrift store but like I said, the book section can't be beat :) read more

I needed couple of clear glass vases, nothing too fancy, and a friend told me about thrift stores carrying good selection of vases at very cheap prices. So I decided to come here. I only looked at the home decor section and found couple of good vases ($1-$4) but other stuff in this section seemed to be overpriced. They were not even in good conditions and still priced the same as Ross or Home Goods. I didnt look at any other stuff...but they had a large collection of books and very large collection of clothings. So its good for someone thrift shopping for clothes. This was my first time thrift shopping and I got what I was looking for but I probably won't come back as there's not a big difference in prices as compared to other affordable home goods stores around me....unless I need more plain clear glass vases. read more

So, I've been to this place many times when i was younger, in high school maybe, looking for old worn in T-shirts. I went here the other day for the first time in awhile and I do not remember it always being as expensive as it is now. Don't get me wrong, it is a thrift store, but for as much as this place is dusty and huge and has a lot of crap mixed in with the stuff you might actually want, meaning a lot of digging goes into finding a gem, i would think it would be cheaper. I found a really cute dress here and right after went to plato's closet (where they are selective about what they put in the store making shopping there much easier) and the prices were the same. I would much rather go to a nicer resale shop than mill around here for a day. read more

Don't get me wrong I love thrift shopping at this location. I've been going here for a very long time and my family and I have never had a problem. Until today of course I encountered extremely horrible customer service from the cashier Carrie I think her name was. Today's Labor Day, and as an avid thrift shopper I know this place will be packed with people and kids running around and long lines at the fitting room and all that madness. I also expect there to be a long line in order to get checked out. None of this bothered me at all, we even waited about 20-30min in line in order to get checked out and everything was going well until we got to the register. I put my stuff on the counter for Carrie to check out and she proceeds with checking all my stuff out. I tell her that's it, my mom's purchase was separate. Carrie then proceeded to rudely tell me "No you can't do that. She has to get back in line." The bagger (lady) also told Carrie that we came together. She did not care and once again told me to tell my mom that she needs to get back in line. I was extremely upset with her attitude towards me so I sad "No forget it, I'll pay for all of it". I then combined my moms purchase with mine and as she was typing everything in she came across a table cover which she claimed she could not find the price tag on it so she rudely said "There's no price tag. You can't buy it." and shoved it under the counter. My mom immediately jumped in and told her that there IS a price tag but Carrie did not give it back. Instead the bagger gave it to my mom and she showed them the price tag. I'm extremely upset at Carrie's rude behavior towards us. This place is great but it really sucks that we were treated this way. read more

I recently visited Texas Thrift Store on Cooper St in Arlington on the advice of my mom a few days ago. Normally I wouldn't shop at a used clothing store or a second hand store but I was extremely impressed and taken away by this store. It was unlike any other thrift store I've been to. It was super clean, very organized and the staff was incredible. The clothes seemed almost brand new, other items looked as if someone used them once and donated it and the entire experience changed my mind completely as far as what I thought a thrift store was. I found shirts that were just cleaned at a dry cleaners, shoes in almost new condition and even found some furniture I couldn't believe was there. I must say what impressed me the most was the general manager and how he delegated the staff and operated this store. Stan Rott was the most friendly, caring and focused manager I've seen in about 10 years and he made me a customer for life. Thank you Stan for doing the job that you do just to make sure me and all your customers left happy and I will be bringing some friends to shop there in the future.
