First time to a Texas Roadhouse, even though I've lived in TX most of my life! Had expectations, yet no where did I find that upon arrival we would be asked if we wanted the rolls or to pick out our steaks! And it was already loud, so I had to ask for questions to be repeated. Got to our table after requesting to order there, found menus and were greeted warmly by our server. My husband and I both ordered the 6oz filet medium. The first time out they were rare, second time out mine was medium his more medium rare but he ate it. Had a nice bottle of wine for a decent restaurant price! Honestly, the rolls that are hailed as the Best, were just okay, the steak was tasty and tender, the service was really good and price was on the high side. Service was good throughout! read more

Worst restaurant in town. Go to olive garden instead. They hire a bunch of teenagers to do the job. My family of 8 and I went tonight to enjoy dinner. Wait time was not bad. We put in our order and waited for about 20-30 minutes for the food. Waitress took my order and when everything arrived I only received my sides (WRONG SIDES BY THE WAY) Never received my country fried chicken. Once i told the manager on duty all she did was take it of my bill. No apology nothing..... STILL DIDNT GET MY FOOD BTW. Our waiter was way to busy taking care of a table that seemed to be her friends from high school. Came to our table maybe 3 times. Never came to tell me anything about the chicken missing..... no apology no NOTHING. We finally got the managers attention again letting her know our waiter has us on the back burner and was talking to her Friends the hour to 2 hrs we were there. But the manager simply sent someone else with our togo boxes and never talked to the waiter. Seemed to me that if your not white you wont get good service in this restaurant. NevER ever again!!! First of all these are the pictures that I brought home. We originally went to "dine in". So I'll start from the end. the ribs was literally off the bones. It appears to be somebody else's leftovers. Potato Black mold. I asked for the steak rare to medium rare and it was well done. The sour cream and butter and the condiments were leaking. No I did NOT shake up the bag nor tear up the meat myself. Now let's start from the beginning!!! We were taken to the table that was still being cleaned by a staff member leaning over the table, waiting for him to finish up as we watched him work hard at it. We ordered the following the blossom Onion. . Never arrived Cesar salad with mozzarella cheese, not parmes. Not parmesan. The waitress asked if I needed something else. More cheese and croutons please!. The salad only had two croutons. I began to eat the salad and it was warm. Not room temperature, but warm. About 10 minutes later the waitress came back and told us that they don't have any lemonade and asked me if I still wanted the cheese and croutons. The wilted lettuce was nearly gone. We also overheard that the table next to us was advised that they don't have any Dr pepper and that their steak was wrong! I ordered the sirloin with ribs with grilled onions and green beans. I got well done ribs and a smothered steak with mushrooms. I'm allergic to mushrooms. The green beans or saltier than a pretzel. So was the Texas Roadhouse roadkill smothered in mushrooms. The macaroni and cheese when nothing to rave about, it was bland! The waitress came back took my plate and told me that I was getting a 30% discount. Shortly after that she came and check on us and we let her know about the roadkill and offered also a 30% off. We waited 24 minutes for them to pack our meal to go. It was huge mistake! The pictures reflect the meal. The road kill I brought home still was salty but without mushrooms. Yes yes the waitress was very apologetic but never did I get a manager or a good meal out of this visit. Do NOT come here! They have a horrible seating policy. If you are missing one person , they will not seat you. One of the hostess told us, if you don't like it go somewhere else. If would have left , if we were not celebrating my niece. She picked the place. They sat us in tables that had wet sticky floors. I guess it is just part of post-covid service, because people in the service industry are just not the same. The food was good. Steak cooked to the right temperature. The green beans are a bit weird. I don't recommend. The real issue is the service was lack luster starting from the hostesses who were too engaged in their conversation to acknowledge my party for a few minutes. Our server visited our table to take drink orders, drop off drinks and take orders, drop off food and give us the check. I am getting used to not expecting too much in the way of service. I get it. Ok maybe I was super starving...I did give blood that morning.... but this was all delicious! We had about a 10 minute wait, not bad at all, and we were seated and drinks brought out quickly. Our waiter said the rolls were still cooking but would bring them shortly. We ordered an appetizer (starving, remember?), and we got the Rattlesnake Bites which were delicious! I thought I had these before but maybe they changed something up because these were better than I remember! It's jalapeños and cheese fried and served with Cajun ranch or regular ranch. We got both and they were both good! The rolls came out fresh and warm and yummy with the tdf cinnamon butter. The salads were also very good, which is surprising as most places just serve wilted lettuce now as a side salad. Ew. I got the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and white gravy; you do get a choice but why wouldn't you get delicious peppery, cream gravy? The steak was tender and flavorful. Visited last evening during business trip to Lk Jackson, and wow did I expect better! Service was attentive and polite, rolls were amazing, but the food was dismal. When the waitress brought the steak (NY Strip) and asked I cut into it to see if it was cooked correctly, I was embarrassed to tell her it was too tough to cut thru! Ate about 2/3, rest was gristle and fat...just a lousy presentation and lousy cheap cut of meat. Frankly 2 stars is generous, but would never return. This concept of undercooking the meat then asking table to cut into it (table behind me sent back 2 steaks) is unprofessional, and speaks to the inexperience of the cooks charged with grilling. The food is always great in my opinion and the service was outstanding as well. However, what good is it to have good food when a customer uses the bathroom and the place is a total poop grenade gone rogue? It takes away from the good and tasty food. What's worse is that an employee was just coming out of the bathroom stall and left everything out except in the toilet where it belongs. The restaurant was not busy at the time we went so management has no excuse to say they didn't have time to have someone clean the restroom and make the overall visit much more enjoyable. This comes down to culture and it comes down to poor management. Sadly this is why the restaurant will get just two stars. When trying to provide and good ambiance to customers, restrooms are a big part of it as well. read more

I'll give a 1 because I can't give "0". First off it was freezing inside, warmer outside where is was 59.... Why would you want your customers so uncomfortable??? Sat at the bar but decided not to order a drink because it was so cold in the place. I asked for an Irish coffee to warm up a bit and was told they don't do that. So I just got water and lemon. The water was disgusting with far too much chlorine. Order our meal around 12:10. After watching a couple across the bar and a guy who came in after us and already had their food we asked a guy where our food was and he said he would check. Around 12:45 the bartender came came back and I said what's happening and her response was "about what" I said our food and she said it was placed and that she would check on it. The guy never returned. She came back in a few minutes and said it will be out in a few min. I told her to give us the bill for the iced tea because we were leaving. She went to the cash register and then said don't worry about it it's been compt. We walked out of the bar and I asked the hostess if I could talk to the manager and she said yes he's right here. It was the guy who was to check on our meals. Imagine that.... I told him exactly what I thought and that the order hadn't been placed and he didn't deny it. Roadhouse is always busy. It seems like they are taking advantage of this fact. This was a real bad visit. The last one was similar, but not as bad. The reason for ONE Star was due to the response to me getting up the nerve to say something, then also realizing neither our waitress, or the little electronic device...cared 'how' our food was. 24oz ribeye. I've got strong teeth and every third bite as impossible to chew and I had to pull out of my mouth. I worked VERY hard to cut around the hard parts of this medium rare, boneless ribeye. Half of the steak was on my plate in half chewed form, when the pigtailed manage came around. Got up the nerve to say something. Long story short, she said "hope it's better 'next time' twice" offered nothing [which I would have turned down] but also told me twice I should have let them know 'when I got halfway through the steak' [understand, half of the steak was in a pile on my plate and she looked at it]. Said I 'should have let them know'. Maybe she is right, but do they actually train these 'floor managers' to talk about the "next visit" when dealing with someone who had a bad experience, chastise them for not complaining sooner, and not 'offer' anything? The waitress also apparently either wasn't told or doesn't understand how to deal with 'mild' conflict, as she 'never' asked how the food was...wasn't curious about the pile of half chewed cartilage and meat, and asked us first and foremost if we wanted to purchase some gift cards. On the way out walking my elderly dad, 'pigtails' was giggling with 3 other girls at the counter and never said a word aside from looking at us and offering a big smile. Texas Roadhouse is no longer my local steakhouse...for at least 6 months. Also, why wouldn't you use that annoying Kiosk pay thing to take a quick survey?? Sunday Morning, thru church and off to eat. Today we, all 10 of us, decided to go to Texas Roadhouse in Lake Jackson, and one of our party was smart enough to call ahead, and we still had to wait for about 10 minutes. It was worth the wait. We had great waiter Sean, who happened to be a Army Vet, and being a former Marine I told him I wouldn't hold it against him, and we all had a good laugh. Seams that almost everyone started out with a good tasty salad, with hot rolls and honey butter. Main course, while I had steak and grilled shrimp and a loaded baked potato, Carl had fried cat fish and a baked sweet potato while Rich had a steak and fries, Rudy fried shrimp and Jeff a country fried sirloin and fries Kim had blackened salmon and steamed vegetables and the menu goes on and on. The quality of food was great, and so was the atmosphere. Our service was excellent, and we told Sean thanks for his service in the military and bid farewell. Texas Roadhouse, you would be hard pressed to get any better than you already are. They have pretty good bread. For my entree I got the shrimp and streak combo with 2 sides. I enjoyed it. The steak was cooked to my liking but the veggies were pretty much raw. This is the second time we have come and encountered a giant roach and it pains me to say that there will not be a third. I suggested that we eat here and my husband reminded me of our last experience, but I begged and said that it would be different. I. Was. Wrong. I was so disgusted by the roach crawling right next to me tonight that I couldn't even finish my meal or sit in my seat for fear of it crawling on me. The manager apologized and comp'd our meal blaming it on the weather and wood walls, but I have eaten at many many Texas Roadhouses across the country and have never seen a roach at any of those restaurants. We had a large party at open and the manger instantly goes up to the cashier and says what would be adjacent to do not seat them. They only had one side of the restaurant open with plenty of servers at the front staring at us. It took the birthday day guest wanting to speak to the manger in order for us to be seated right away, we even said we don't mind the waiting on the food and that we are patient guests. Texas Roadhouse is always good. This is the first time I've been to this location. There's free parking, but depending on the time it's limited. This location is fairly large. We were able to get a table right away. Our waitress was very sweet. She did a good job refilling our drinks that were still half full without us asking. She was patient as we did take a while to determine what we wanted to order. One of the favs most like are the rolls with that delicious butter. Wow! I could just eat that. For the table we ordered the Cactus Blossom. It had just enough crunch with the yummy sauce that pairs perfectly with it. For my meal, I ordered the Portobello Mushroom Chicken. For my sides I ordered the loaded baked potato and green beans. The chicken was juicy and the mushrooms & cheese add just the right amount of flavor. This is one of my fav entrees they serve. The greens beans are delicious but they do have bacon in them so for vegetarians be aware of that. The loaded baked potato was ok. I wish there was more toppings so it wouldn't taste dry. One thing they don't offer is a birthday dessert. It was my friend's birthday but she didn't want the song and public birthday acknowledgment. I told our waitress this and asked if they provided a birthday dessert like most restaurants do. They do not. Either way, I do enjoy Texas Roadhouse and will absolutely visit again. read more

The web site says early bird dinners Monday thru Friday till 6 pm. The manager does not honor t that. He says only Monday thru Thursday and only till 5 pm. This is the second time I had this happen to me. It's not the money it's the principal. I will never return to this place. At best I would say it's OK. Food is mediocre and so are the alcoholic drinks. Service is ok, depends on the server that was assigned to your table and the place itself is so noisy. I guess that if it was my choice, I won't lose anything in life if I never stepped another foot in their door. If it's someone else's choice, I guess I would go and at least enjoy the company. I may be old fashioned or whatever you might think but personally I never got the whole deal of throwing the peanuts shells on the floor. Just because you're not in your busiest hour, you should always have fresh rolls. Don't know what was going on with the waitress, but she was almost robotic, no personality at all.
