I went there with high hopes. The actual PT who helped me was great. It was the support staff that was terribly untrained and unprofessional. The next visit they just put me on a bike with no introduction on who they were (that they were the one I would be seeing instead of the PT) and what we were doing. They were so apathetic about what I was doing, and again, with zero conversation or explanation. There was another woman who had recently had knee surgery. They put her on some machine and left her there--not paying attention to form at all. The Assistants (??) were having very animated conversations over all of our heads... Honestly, I could have just watched videos on YouTube and learned more about what I needed to improve my situation. That is what I did. I let them know my concerns. Excellent set-up. I've worked (professionally) with many PTs over the years, in different settings. While most of the PTs I've worked alongside have been great, they were often overwhelmed with the requirements of the job: seeing way too many patients and all then documentation of all those patients. By contrast, Texas Physical Therapy Specialists is patient-focused, and has plenty of staff to ensure all the patients in the therapy gym are engaged in their PT program for the whole session. I appreciate minimums wait/downtime, and the individualized plan developed for me, post foot surgery. I haven't been to a ton of PT offices, but I've been to a handful and this is definitely the best by far. It is a well planned process for patients from arrival to leaving each session, not just the first one. The initial session is personalized as you would expect with the physical therapist themselves in a separate area to assess your needs. However, the real benefit of the office is that there's always several PT assistants around to help tell you what's next for that specific day based on the PT's plan and advise how to do the exercises if needed. The PT you work with is always around in the area and checks in with you a few times throughout the session. Plan is dynamic as you progress, both for the in office exercises and the exercise plan for home. read more

I've now been receiving PT at this location for month with Jimmy (a doctor of PT) and I can definitely say this is a 5 star experience. The practice runs very efficiently, all staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, and Jimmy thoughtfully prepares a program for me that has a natural progression and that has helped me in my goals. Been going here for 5 weeks. The facility setup is good and there are some very Good Techs to assist starting your exercise routine. My complaint/concern really is about the Main PT that I was assigned. After 3 weeks, Some days the Main PT was out and I got an Alt PT who actually listened and modified my routines. Told her the same comments I told the main PT YET never made adjustments until I told him I got nothing out of some exercises last week. I started observing the other PTs and Patients. Thursday, Both PTs were there. Talked to the Alt PT about always having to hunt down the Main PT I was assigned to and if she'd talk to him about checking in more frequently. I just wasn't sure we were a good match. I caught the main PT and said this exercise causes back pain. As it turns out I was doing an exercise totally wrong cause he wasn't around Tuesday the first time I did it, Tech couldn't find him. The Tech wasn't sure and said to do it a certain way. Unfortunately it turns out that was the wrong way. There is tremendously less pain the right way. Imagine that. I told the Main PT I'd appreciate him checking in more cause if there's a wrong way to do it, I'll find it. He made a joke that he's like Santa always watching... then why was I doing that exercise totally wrong. Ugh. Obviously it all fell on deaf ears cause I was doing the last exercise 5 minutes past time I was supposed to leave. The Main PT started walking my way, thought he would come check in before I left, but No. He stopped to talk to one of the Tech Girls. I finally called my Tech over and said I don't know where my chart is - the Main PT might have walked off with it. He found it and marked off progress. Thought that might spur the Main PT to check with me before I left, but No again. I found him by the water cooler and told him my experience with the modifications. He's a nice enough guy but just doesn't listen and doesn't seem to be that invested/interested in monitoring his patients. He is always at his stand, nose down, typing on his laptop. Not sure if I should switch to Alt PT or switch to different company all together to get a PT that I feel is more invested in my recovery when I am progressing through the routines. read more

Had to go back to Texas PTS recently, (for an issue with my left shoulder), after having spent time there 2 years ago, rehabbing the right shoulder after rotator cuff surgery. What a difference two years makes, and not in a good way. I couldn't say enough good things about the first time, working with Dr. Jillian Milke, as well as the rest of the staff at that time. Truly a fun place to get back to my shoulder feeling great. This time? Ben is there, (he owns the place), but all of the other docs and techs have moved on, (except one), and the atmosphere has changed. I only went for 5-6 visits, but that was really all I needed, (and wanted), this time, choosing to do the exercises at home, on my time. Just not a good vibe, and I was told in no uncertain terms on my third visit that I needed to visit the front desk before I left. I didn't file the visits under insurance this time, and suspect they thought I was going to run out on the bill. Right... The place also really needs someone who knows tech, my exercise plan still has Dr. Milke's name on the header, and she doesn't even live here anymore. Keet Health runs their app, and they are horrible. They did an upgrade towards the end of my time there, and the communications to the clients on the upgrade was only partially complete. The app they maintain for Texas PTS has a bug that causes it to crash when the history tab is selected, and it took multiple communications from me until they admitted it was broken. The exercise plan that Dr. Milke set up for me is gone, and the doc I worked with says he can't find it to reload. He has also stopped responding to emails from me, so I guess I'm just up that particular creek without that particular paddle. 2019 - 5 stars 2021 - 1 Star That translates to an average of three, and if I ever need future physical therapy, I'm going elsewhere. read more

Dr. Ben Morgan is extremely knowledgeable and takes a very individualized approach to PT treatment. I've been working with Ben for several years now, for a complex nerve pain condition, and feel very fortunate to have found him. Everyone is friendly and welcoming and they all genuinely want to help you succeed. I have severe anxiety surrounding a disorder that gets triggered when people are constantly touching me. Scott and Ann both understood exactly how to help me in a way that would not only help my ankle get stronger but also in a way that had the fewest amount of triggering moments that I've ever had at any kind of appointment. I am extremely grateful to have worked with them. I hope I don't have to come back, but in the event that I did I would definitely come back here. I also miss drawing them random things. read more

I actually recommended this place to my wife, but I regret I did. This place has very shady billing practice, and you should avoid it at all cost. They got paid twice - one from my insurance and one from our pocket - several times. When we raised it, they acknowledged it and told us it would take 2-3 months to correct it. We patiently waited for 3 months. Nothing happened. We raised it again, they told us it would take another 2-3 months from our last treatment. We did not understand why, but, we waited for another 3 months. Again, nothing happened. Now, it's been over 6 months, and still no refund, no update, nothing. I called them multiple times, left several voicemails, talked to multiple people in their 'billings department'. I've seen these types of billing mistakes taking days or weeks to resolve. NOT 6+ month. Don't waste your time and money here. read more

I was going there for a while to deal with some back pain issues that a chiro wasn't able to help with, but I just can't get in there with their limited schedule. I was never ever able to get a Saturday appointment, had to book 2-3 weeks in advance for a lunch-time slot, and they kept asking me to come multiple times a week. Dude I just can't do that. I work full time and have a toddler. So I had to stop going because I just couldn't deal with the scheduling issues. I got some home-stuff to do but then my back went out completely and just hasn't healed so I can't even do the home-stuff. Now with the pandemic surging I just can't go back anytime soon either. I guess I'll just be living in pain until people can get vaccinated and our society gets their shit together. read more

Sadly, my husband knows this place ALL. TOO. WELL. He has been seeing Whitney for nearly two years. He had a very large knee surgery in 2016 (cartilage alograph, femoral osteotomy, and meniscus transplant) and then in 2017, after that didn't do the trick...he had a total knee replacement. He is 35 years old, so rehabbing a total knee replacement on someone so young and fit has been a challenge, but one that Whitney has taken on and done great with. I have arthritis in my left knee and recently tore the meniscus in my right knee. As the knee and surrounding muscles pain and stiffness got worse my orthopedist recommended PT. After some research I went to Texas Physical Therapy Specialist and my initial evaluation with Jill Milke was thorough and appeared to probe for the root cause of the pain - which was surrounding muscle weakness and knotting. Over several weeks of gradually increased exercises and her attentive involvement in each visit, I experiences substantial improvement. Her close involvement and the entire team at TPTS were great. They work professionally and make it fun at the same time. I would highly recommend them to anyone I know. I have been diagnosed with CRPS and have been coming here for a couple of months now to see Dr. Ben Morgan. Dr. Morgan is extremely versed in CRPS and sees improvement with every visit I have. I'm hopeful that one day I can stop making appointments, but for now. Dr. Ben is giving me the best care possible. CRPS is extremely complex and very individualized to every person that has it. I am receiving outstanding care here (10526 W. Parmer Lane, Avery Ranch). Ben Morgan and Julia Harrison are the PTs providing that. Both are wonderful. And the PT Techs that warm me up and keep me moving from station to station are great. The front desk ladies are too. All are easy to work with. Everyone there seems to like working there, and are very positive, encouraging, and caring. Very kind people. The diagnosis was spot on and my care plan is reasonable to maintain. Easy to work with. I went to go see Dr. Mac (Mike McTague) after experiencing a partial shoulder muscle tear. I was extremely nervous about needing surgery - Dr. McTague understood I wanted to avoid surgery at all costs. I went for several weeks and then stopped because I was busy planning my wedding that was coming up in a few months. When the pain became worse, I sheepishly contacted Dr. McTague who was extremely compassionate and accepting - he did not judge me for having quit PT early. He invited me back and we continued treatment - I eventually experienced complete relief of shoulder pain with no surgery needed. Dr. McTague also referred me to a great Ortho doc - Dr. Burris - who helped me further. Dr. McTague is very knowledgeable, science and evidence-based in his practice, personable, and he makes himself very accessible to patients. I would highly recommend him for PT. read more

I can't say enough good things about the TEAM at PT Specialists. I won't single anyone out because they ALL contribute to a great rehab experience. I went in for both nerve damage induced vertigo and a persistent hip issue. It was the last resort for my hip. The "specialists" couldn't tell me what was wrong, but suggest PT. I spent a couple of months there and both conditions improved dramatically. I have not had a vertigo incident since I started and my hip is much looser and stronger, and I no longer have a noticeable limp. They have a great operation and after a short time, it felt like I was going to the gym to work out with friends. It was actually fun to go! read more

First time going to physical therapy. From the initial phone call to ask about services to the day I was discharged, the staff was very friendly, informative, and helpful. I was diagnosed with de Quervain's tendonitis and worried that the pain in my wrists would make it difficult to properly care for my 6 month old. My PT, Aaron Caro-Mata, helped me understand where the pain was coming from and provided an effective treatment program. The Tech, Anna, assisted with my exercises keeping me on track and laughing. KT was the first person I spoke with and she helped me understand how the appointments would work and welcomed me each session. With help from the team at TexPTS, I was able to work past the sharper pain, begin to heal, and strengthen the area around the issue. Zac Morgan managed my program throughout, and we got great results. He made it seem as if we were all working together to get me where I needed to be. Logan and Erik were super helpful, and their friendly demeanors made sessions enjoyable. Instead of milking my insurance for the maximum visits allowed, TPTS told me I was ready to graduate and sent me home with a manageable program of exercises to keep me healthy!
