I dropped off my medical records request form in person on September 26, 2025 at 10:30 to the physical location of the center I use (Denton, TX). The gentleman took my form and stated he was faxing it right then. The website states: If you or your physician needs copies of your medical records, please follow the steps below and allow 3 to 5 business days for processing. Download the Authorization To Disclose Protected Health Information Download the Authorization To Disclose Protected Health Information (Spanish) Fill out the form Print the form Sign the form Find your local cancer center Submit the form by fax or mail Medical records are stored at the cancer center where you received treatment. It is now October 9th and I STILL DON'T HAVE MY MEDICAL RECORDS EVEN THOUGH THE WEBSITE STATES MEDICAL RECORDS ARE STORED AT THE CANCER CENTER WHERE YOU RECEIVED TREATMENT. My PCP is needing those records so that I can make an appointment to get a few other health issues addressed. However, I've had to prolong making the appointment since my medical record request has not been processed WHICH IS DELAYING ME GETTING TREATMENT. In addition, the doctor I saw talked down to me which I did not appreciate. However, his NP was AMAZING. I will be looking for a new provider and facility that does what it's supposed to, when it's supposed to. read more

Other than a serious time scheduling issue, I have nothing but good things to say about Texas Oncology.

My personal experience with Texas Oncology is pretty mixed. The main reason I haven't reviewed until now is that I find it difficult to convey just how disconcerting some of their practices are without details. While I despise reviews with blanket statements that don't provide supporting evidence, there honestly isn't room to explain even one of these concerns in the allotted space. Therefore, I am giving an open invitation to anyone considering using these services to feel free to message me if you want clarification on any of these topics. The new location is on Scriptures and it's clean and roomy and they have their own pharmacy and blood lab on site with it's own waiting room. They give you a folder of contacts and information on your first visit. Those all made a good impression for a first visit.   I initially felt the staff was way friendlier than you find at other specialists. This means a lot when you're experiencing anxiety about your visit, but the office is extremely disorganized and communication is actually pretty terrible. The doctor I ended up dealing with really needs to work on her communication with patients as well!  Their policies on billing are pretty deceitful. They force you into getting tests prior to your appointment, on site and do not disclose they are sending many of the tests out to other labs. While billing will tell you to request a patient benefits representative to discuss pricing in advance, the staff will refuse to do so and try to pressure you into additional tests before letting you see the doctor. Billing will also claim to work with you if you provide a lot of personal financial information, but none of that applies to what they send out or would work retroactively. As a point of reference, out of $1300 spent between 2 appointments, less than $400 would have been applicable to in house costs while the rest were sent out. Billing is not only unaware of which tests are being sent out (they tried to tell me that none were despite bills I got from 3 different labs), they are sending some tests to multiple labs and also not sending all the information so some of the bills are coming in at 3 times the actual cost. They also don't communicate within their own department as proven by several comments made by the supervisor after finally fixing one bill I had been calling/emailing about for 10 weeks. Appointments are a nightmare to setup. This particular issue may be based on the specific doctor I saw and not all the doctors, so if you aren't seeing Dr. Cichon then take this one with a grain of salt. I was told that Dr. Chichon takes several weeks to review your entire file and determine what is needed for the appointment (sounds great) and then she would tell the receptionist who would call to set up an appointment. I was very up front about the constraints of my schedule between work and another weekly appointment. Instead of discussing several appointment slots the dr is available for, they will call you with 1 time slot that is during the time you told them you were absolutely not available. They will then wait several weeks to call you back with exactly one slot that is identical to the last one you couldn't make, despite confirming the dr works hours you are available for! For follow ups they set up the appointment and just send you a card in the mail! I understand wanting to be strategic with how you schedule patients but this is not the way to do it! This was an unnecessarily lengthy and painful process that makes even less sense when you consider you will be there for 2 hours and only see the dr for 15 minutes! Respect your patients and be more forthcoming with them. They are inefficient and waste time. You will painstakingly fill out tons of forms and family history. The staff takes it but nobody looks at it. The nurse will just ask you all the questions and write it down onto a similar form and nobody actually looks at your paperwork- why?? For someone who supposedly takes several weeks reviewing files before setting up appointments, Dr. Cichon acted like she had no idea why my PCP  had referred me to her. Quite daunting when your PCP said she was brilliant.  Her bedside manner also leaves a lot to be desired. She will ask questions and interrupt you while you attempt to answer. She does not share her concerns or what tests she is ordering or why. Unacceptable! This is my health, why won't you discuss it with me? If you ask questions she either tries to deflect or acts bothered. She doesn't listen, she talks at you instead of with you and she insults your intelligence- what a trifecta! I get we don't have a lot of options in this area and the people I dealt with may not be representative of other doctors and employees but this is no way to treat your patients that are already dealing with a lot of stress!  How shameful. I will do everything in my power to avoid ever returning here. read more

My experience with Texas Oncology is very positive. My doctor and my surgeon are both outstanding and the radiation doctor was wonderful too. They are pretty much on time for appointments and there is time to ask questions if need be. I will have them in my corner again, should cancer recur. read more

Its not easy to get anything done at this place. In fact its pretty difficult and annoying. The Oncologist ordered an MRI and I waited 2 weeks before I was even contacted to be scheduled despite calling the office several times to stay on top of this. A couple months later I found another lump in my breast and the oncologist had ordered a diagnostic mammogram. Once again I had to call the office everyday to follow up on getting scheduled for the mammogram. It was a week an a half before I finally got answers and called the mammogram clinic to schedule myself. As a breast cancer survivor, a week and half is a long and scary time to wait for answers! Now I'm needing a refill on my medication and Ive called the office twice to follow up on the refill and why it hasn't been sent to my pharmacy. I can't even get something as simple as a refill. Im comparing Texas Oncology-Denton to my Oncology Clinic at Baylor Scott and White in Austin. I never had to wait so long or even call to follow up with anyone at Baylor Scott and White because they always stayed on top of stuff. But Not Texas Oncology- Denton. read more

Perhaps this Dr. had the best intentions as regards to my care but unfortunately it did not work out in my favor. When a patient complains of pain, the source of that pain should be looked into and addressed rather than covering up the symptoms with pain medications. Had this been the case...had a dr. listened...my situation could have had a much better outcome...not just for me but for my husband and young children that have had to watch me go through this. Shame on you for not listening & assuming that your clinical knowledge is always correct! Not all patients fit into the cookie cutter "treatment" prescribed.
