I went to the ER where I received excellent care and a medication to bring my BP down. A few days later,when I arrived for my scheduled appointment the waiting room had only one person waiting. The "nurse" looked unprofessional and introduced herself as a "friend of the doctor". She was clueless, I had to ask to see the doctor. When the doctor came in he stated "Your blood pressure looks fine, do you need me to write up another prescription - he too was clueless. For some completely irrational reason, I used to not trust doctors, but she's shown me there are plenty who can be trusted. She takes a lot of time to ask tons of questions and seems to really care. This is rare these days. She also respects that I'm not a huge fan of being on a ton of medication, but gladly provides what's needed to cure my ailment or make me more comfortable if it's just a cold or flu for which antibiotics don't work. Kara Willden is rude, combative, and has zero compassion or bedside manner. Loved the staff but don't care for her. Sad. Dan has retired and I don't doubt she is the reason why. She has quite the bully mentality. I requested a refill on one of my prescriptions that I desperately need for my sanity and she dropped the ball. Took her off of a psych med that she had been on for 17 years without telling anybody. Tried to add a psych med on for nerve pain without adjusting current psych meds. More than once added on a medication she was allergic to despite repeated family warnings and had an idea to re-create a weight loss medication made of multiple drugs, without adjusting the levels to what was in the medication she was trying to duplicate. Listening to the patient is great but when you don't listen to the patient caregivers you miss a lot of really important information that is pertinent to caring for the patient. Especially with geriatric patients that are confused. When my mother presented with severe back pain, she ordered muscle relaxers and PT instead of doing imaging. That back pain turned out to be metastatic cancer that killed my mom. I was going to write this review before my mom died, but that is just the icing on the cake. Repeated frustrating visits with this doctor. You just don't blow off the patient caregivers or change routine psychiatric meds without telling anyone. Poor management across providers. NOT OK!!!
