Wish it was a Ford! lol!

What a great tour! Glade was our tour guide. He was awesome. Very friendly and informative. He took us around in a Chevy Camaro(should have been a Ford. lol) The gift shop was pretty disappointing. The merchandise seemed dated and old. Nothing really caught our eye in there. Overall it was a great tour.

My review is for the Gift of Lights 2022. I found my tickets on Groupon for $20. The lights last about 20-30 minutes depending on how fast you go through. We took our time and turned on our own Christmas music playlist (there's no music playing outside and no radio station to tune into like other light shows around). We even made our own hot cocoa to sip since we knew there was no Santa Village this year. We enjoyed looking at the different light themes and cruising through the tunnels, I just was surprised there was not music! But I'm thankful we found TMS because I wasn't able to pay $55 at Sugar Lane, they've got to be insane. I recommend seeing the lights if you get the $20 tickets otherwise you've spent too much, sorry to say. I would pay more if there were a Santa's village and more lights, definitely. Perhaps someone could relay this to the light decoration department for next year :)

We came here on New Year's Day to check out the gift of lights and I heard that there would be more lights this year than previous years. I recommend bringing your own snacks as the popcorn/drinks are overpriced. The staff are friendly and are helpful with showing you where to go. I got a ticket on Groupon for $21, so I recommend going there. The gift of lights took about 15-20 minutes when taking time to examine the light displays. I liked the entrance, the Christmas stars, angels and the arching displays of flowers and butterflies. The experience was underwhelming and pricey for the experience, however it's something to check out if you are in the area.

Another great Speedway Motorsports track. Good viewing and everyone treats us like family. Complex is BIG! Easy access and parking. Greeting racing action and fan area. Suites are comfy and the caterers are super attentive.

I've toured other sports arenas in the past so I had to add a NASCAR racetrack to the list. This had to be one of the most unique and exciting tours I've experienced. The tour starts off with viewing the track from the club seats and learning about the other structures on the premise. I didn't expect that the better seats were more towards the top than the bottom. The reason is that all of the fumes and debris from the cars are at the bottom. Next stop was the ballroom. The tour guide told us about events that were held here during race days and his experience at them. The last part of the tour was two laps around the track as a passenger. The tour guide (who has raced cars in the past) drives you around the track at speeds well above what you would experience on the highway. Here you can feel a fraction of the g-force that the race car drivers feel when taking those turns. After our laps we were able to look at some cars in the garage that were being prepared for a race the next day. The tour guide was excellent and very knowledgeable with a great sense of humor. The tour costs $15 and was well worth the value. The tour took me about an hour (with a tour group size of 4) but it can go up to two hours with a larger tour group size since everyone has to have their two laps around the track. Walk-ins are available but I'd recommend calling in advance to reserve your spot.

It seems like most of the people that are unhappy went to whatever Christmas lights event that they have here at Texas Motor Speedway. I went to the NASCAR playoff series here, and it was amazing. The staff that I encountered at the concessions, to get into the place, and parking were absolutely fantastic and very welcoming. The venue is absolutely massive and it was very easy to get a seat with fantastic viewing. The traffic to park was a bit busy, but what do you expect at a busy sports event?! It was great sitting in the south west area in section 114 row 32 because we were in the shade by 2pm. My son and I had an absolute blast here and I'd highly recommend it to anyone wanting to watch people race cars. Only thing I'd highly suggest is that you bring (or buy) hearing protection as it was ~105 decibels during the races...basically you're gonna be deaf eventually noise.

This review is for the Christmas lights only. This is my first time to see the lights. We went on a Friday night in early December. The line wasn't as bad as I expected, but it's still a line! Because of COVID-19, there is less this year, thus the cheaper price. Since I'm a newbie, I'm guessing way less, cause other years went down in the infield, which we didn't. There was a short drive up to the stands, and then a long drive under the stands. The lights were good, cause I LOVE Christmas lights! But it just wasn't what I was expecting. When COVID is finally over, I bet it will WOW me! Should you go? Absolutely! Anything to see Christmas lights! And don't forget, turn left!

I took my girl here for a Nascar Experience. It was great. Easy to find but limited parking. The Texas Motorway is very huge with plenty of seating and indoor suites as well. Nice to enjoy if a Nascar fan. I enjoyed seeing the cars race around the speedway. My girl loved her Nascar Experience. Great for family and kids. Enjoy!

I wouldn't say I'm a NASCAR fanatic but I am definitely into fast cars. My first ride at 16 was a '67 Mustang Coupe. My dad and I rebuilt with a 289 engine, chromed out valve covers, duel exhaust, 4 barrel holley carburetor .... oh my God don't even get me started! So about the speedway... The speedway is nice but damn, Getting in and out of here is worse than a labyrinth. Especially post race.! More orange cones than Cars Land sheesh! The track and stands are great and the food was pretty standard. Hot dogs, corn dogs, nachos, burgers, beer etc. we shared a corndog and a few cold ones ... A Okay. Everything was nice, clean and workers were friendly. I think a solid 3 star enjoyably funtastic time.

The drag track. We arrived at 7:00 and were there early, but many cars were doing practice runs that one can watch.

Was it pricey, 15 laps for $450, but our group had a ton of fun. The track is a bit worn down and could use some maintenance along with the cars themselves. The cars were inconsistent. I had three different cars; each one felt different. My last car drifted a lot, despite driving it about the same as the other cars. Their helmets were old and could use an upgrade. Anyway, he puts on firework shows). The Boyd Raceway firework show for the 4th of July was rained out and this was the rescheduled day. I was out there to help with the show (setting up, and then loading / re-loading launch tubes during the show - Talk about a blast!). So after showing up well before the races even start, and getting my special "pit pass" wrist band, we start setting up the show. Once that is done, we have some time to kill before the races start and even more time until the show. So I end with a lot of time to do some exploring and watch plenty of racing. This was a very busy night as there were a lot of makeup races due to all the rain earlier in the month. The classes for tonight were: IMCA Modified, IMCA Stock Car, IMCA Southern Sport Mod, IMCA Hobby Stock & Mini Stock and also featured the Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Cars & Smiley's 305 Sprint Cars. The sprint cars were particularly amazing as I could not believe the speed they would reach on the rack. Oh, the track. So this is a short oval dirt track, which I do think makes thinks very interesting. It takes a different kind of racing skill to keep it together on a dirt track. Most of the racers did a great job, but some did not. Now factor in that only about 1/3 of the track has any kind of a wall or barrier, and where we were set up for the show was not one of those places. We saw several cars come flying over the banked track. Very thrilling! Even though I was working, this turned out to be a very cool introduction to the Boyd Raceway, and I've kind of made a mental note to come back and enjoy the raceway from the stands. It struck me a a very unique and interesting way to spend a Friday. There is a concession stand, and the food looked OK, though I did not try it. It also seemed bringing a cooler was allowed, but you might want to double check on that. PS. See the website (http://boydraceway.net/directions_to_boyd.htm) for map and location, as Google does not map Private Road 4786 (Yahoo! does though), which is what you want. 4786 is off County Road 4781, just south of FTM 4028. We joined the other 27 future race car drivers in our driver-training meeting in the media center at Texas Motor Speedway to get our instructions and safety lessons. We were met by Kirby (aka Big Block), who taught us the ins and outs of what we were about to experience, and how best to safely speed around the course. When we went outside, we were suited up, given a helmet, and we made our way to pit wall where we were paired up with an experienced driver who was going to take us around the track at 165 mph for a few laps. The ride-along was a blast. You really get to experience the stress that is put on your body going into a banked turn in a stock car. How the pros do that going 30-mph faster for 400 miles is absolutely beyond me. It was then our turn. Big Block had taught us that as long as we follow the line of our pace car, and keep a 3-car length following distance, then they will go faster, and therefore we can follow going faster. Unfortunately for my first couple laps we got caught behind someone who wasn't quite comfortable with the 600-horsepower they were controlling. But after we passed them (safely of course), we really opened up. Each lap I got faster and faster, and topped out over 135mph! It was incredibly fun, and the staff there really makes the day enjoyable. Everyone who I met not only loves their job, but makes you love the whole experience. You really get an appreciation for what the NASCAR guys do week in and week out. I really recommend anyone to have this experience.
