I rarely write reviews, but given the situation I feel the need to warn others. We recently…read morecompleted a $100,000 limestone project around the front of our home and around our pool. Approximately $50,000 was spent on labor and approximately $50,000 was spent on the stone itself. This was a large, expensive, time consuming project. We contracted with Riverbend Sandler Pools to complete the project. Riverbend subcontracted the stone masonry labor to Stone Avenue (David Trevino). I'm struggling with how to rate Stone Avenue. David's stone mason crew, led by Israel, did a very good job installing the stone, so I gave Israel $1,000 tip and told him that by accepting the tip he understood how much I appreciated his work and that I was hoping to have a good relationship in the future where I could call on him for other projects. We always have large and small projects at our home, and I wanted to be able to rely on him for future projects. He agreed wholeheartedly and eagerly accepted the tip. I've now tried to connect with him on two separate occasions. I need some repairs on the retaining wall that surrounds our home, AND I wanted an estimate to build a large 10' stone wall around the back of our home. I called and texted David and Israel several times a couple of months ago with no response. Then, I called both David and Israel again last week. David told me they were too busy to help me, but Israel scheduled to meet me on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 between 4:00-5:00pm so we could walk around and I could show him all of the repairs. He then stood me up with no phone call. I finally got in touch with him, and he promised to meet me the next morning on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 8:00am. I agreed but explained that I absolutely had to leave the house by 8:30am, as I had an appointment in downtown Dallas at 9:00am. He finally showed up at my house at 8:40am, and we ran around super quickly and looked at everything, as I had to leave. We scheduled Friday, October 26 for him to do the repairs. I then wasted an entire day on Friday waiting for Israel and his crew, but they never showed up. It is now Tuesday, October 30. I've called and texted several times to no avail. So, while their work is very good if you can get them, they are completely unreliable. At this point, I'm assuming I can't count on them for warranty work on the limestone project either, since they're clearly too busy for me and my home. Because Stone Avenue is the primary stone installer (mason) for Riverbend Sandler, that's where their loyalty lies. They seem to stay busy enough with Riverbend that they don't give other projects a second thought. Therefore, unless you're using Riverbend Sandler as your contractor (and paying a fortune to do so), I would NOT recommend Stone Avenue for stone installation work (either tile installation or stone masonry labor). David prides himself on being a high end, luxury stone supplier and installer, but this is NOT how someone of that caliber treats their clients. You just can NOT count on them!

Within months after the kitchen was done, doors started falling off the cabinets. They had installed some decent quality cabinets in my bathroom, but Noel said he's no longer working with that subcontractor and there would be a different one doing my kitchen cabinets and they would do a lot better. That was NOT the case. The cabinets they installed were at the quality you would see in a $500 a month apartment not a $300,000 condo. . I've never been so embarrassed about my home. You see the cabinets as soon as you walk in the door and they were a total eyesore . Additionally the tile work they did in the bathroom is starting to crack. I made Noel aware of it he said he would get back with me and never did. The "luxury" vinyl wood planks he installed throughout my condo are already starting to discolor and will soon need to be replaced. They also performed electrical work which was clearly not done correctly and in violation of city code. I had to hire another electrician because what they did was unsafe. I'd be surprised if the guy who did the work actually had a license. I regret reaching out to the tile gallery to do the work in my condo. Enjoy the money now, Noel. You know you didn't earn it and you know karma is coming for you.

They were here for over 7 hours and helped move our furniture out of the rooms and also move back following the install. The carpet looks amazing and we opted in to the plush memory foam padding which adds a more luxurious feel in all the bedrooms. Also, the quality of the carpet is exceptional and super easy to clean out stains simply with some warm water. The pricing and value was great. Very reasonably priced and no surprise fees or surcharges. Strongly recommend Ted's for all your flooring needs!

I did a huge amount of homework and had 3 different and well recommended flooring companies come out to assess the situation and give me their quotes. All 3 were knowledgable and could have done a solid job on this work, but Ted stood out among them as particularly capable and experienced (not just an age thing, but the way he talked about the work). Of the 3 companies who came, 1 of them didn't even mention leveling or prep work, 1 of them mentioned it but said he didn't know what the house would need, and only Ted was specific about it off the bat and pointed to one area that he could eyeball as needing additional prep. I could barely see what he was talking about when I looked closely but it was just obvious to him. He was also the only one who thought to talk to me in advance about different options for where the floors and baseboards meet. I'm not sure what the other companies would have done or were assuming, but Ted took ample time to talk through running the floor directly to the baseboards versus using stained quarter round, and mentioned that if the thickness changes and the baseboards have to move lower, painting will be required to touch up above them. Ultimately Ted's vision for the project spanned end-to-end and I felt very comfortable that he was telling me everything I needed to know. Ted also made the process very easy for me. No black box of "let me take this back to my office and send you an estimate a week later." Ted knows his stuff and was able to calculate the cost for me before he even left, though he did send me a formal quote after. In fact, he sent me 3 formal quotes, since I decided to explore porcelain tile, LVP, and engineered wood to see how all 3 prices compared across all 3 companies I spoke with. In the end, all the prices were pretty close to each other. I get the sense that none of the good flooring companies around here are pretty much in line with their rates and how they charge (that is, around the same material/labor costs and trying to make a little profit without being greedy). So of course I went with Ted given how well our conversation and follow-up calls went, and he did not disappoint. The finished product turned out great. We went with LVP (luxury vinyl plank) in the whole house (except bathrooms) and Ted and his guys made it look awesome. Oh, and they finished 1 or 2 days ahead of schedule. Couldn't have asked for better work!

MY EXPERIENCE: I had a great experience with Bedrock Marble…read more& Granite Inc. who replaced my kitchen counter on July 11th, 2011, and plan on using them again for the bathroom upgrades here in the near future. I would and already have referred them to a few people looking for counter replacement as I was very satisfied with the work they did at my house. PRICING AND QUOTE: I used Bedrock to replace the high bar in my kitchen next to my counters after it was broken into pieces. I have to say that they were very prompt in coming out and measuring the space and getting the quote back which came in under all of the other quotes with the exception of one from the Home Depot. I would NEVER USE HOME DEPOT ANYWAY, but I just wanted to get an idea of what the cheapest price range would be. Bedrock came in $2000 cheaper than the most expensive person who quoted me (some rude ignorant fool of a man who didn't understand that I only wanted the one counter and not my entire kitchen replaced, and then got mad and quoted me 1-2K above what everyone else was quoting me just to be a jerk). Since Bedrock's pricing was so low I also had them remove the mini bar counter, which had been done in Formica Laminate, and replace it with the same material that is in the kitchen which is Silestone in Blue Saharah color. The kitchen counter is only 4-5 ft away from the mini bar so the difference in material was very noticeable even though they were similar in color. They also did a custom sink cover for my mini bar sink with a finger hole to easily pick it up and set it over the sink or out of the way. Since the mini bar is such a small area, I wanted to have the option of more counter space by having this drop in piece to place over the sink hole in the counter. The sink is an under mount sink, so after speaking with Amie at the Bedrock office, she was able to understand what I was wanting to accomplish and custom made the piece perfectly for the space. Now I am able to utilize the entire counter space, about 3.5ft X 2ft, instead of only half that due to how much space the sink takes up. Anyone who is doing a mini bar or under mount sink in a small or restricted space should really look into this because you really do get so much more space out of it AND you already have the left over stone to use there from where they cut the sink hole. SCHEDULING: Scheduling took a little longer than I would have expected given the promptness when quoting, but it was the week of July 4th so that is understandable. The entire job from quote to the instillation people walking out my door was roughly 12-15 days, and that included them special ordering and fabricating my counters with the exact material that was already installed from a years ago when the previous home owner upgraded the kitchen. THE INSTILLATION: Instillation was around 3 1/2 hours and the only negative comment I have about it was the smell of the adhesive material used to secure the counter, which in no way was a fault of the instillation guys as it is normal procedure. Any other company would have to do the same thing to install the counter. The smell went away after a day and we just opened the windows while they were using it. The overall quality of the work was even better than the counter that was there before. The old counter was done cheaply and the instillation was done in a way that cut corners. The counter had a seam in it that was large and visible, and the seam was much wider than normal. Bedrock was able to do the entire long bar counter in the kitchen in one piece WITHOUT a seam, which looks sooooooo much better, not to mention is probably stronger than the two pieces that were there before that were glued together. THE WORKERS: The instillation guys, Carlos and Jorge, were hispanic (for those of you who care about that type of thing) but spoke english very well and you could tell that they have lived in the US the majority of their lives. They were very personable and nice, helpful when I had a question and cleaned up all of the mess that come from ripping out the old counters and putting in the new. They were friendly enough to carry on general conversation while they were working, and also about future remodeling I plan to do in the bathrooms in my house. Gave me their honest opinion on what I should do with the bathroom counters, not just what would make them the most money in the end, which was greatly appreciated. I don't mind someone trying to upsell on a job when I inquire but I hate when other companies have tried to basically take advantage of me in my own home by overpricing the job or suggesting things I am not and have audibly communicated that I am not interested in.
