Don't get me wrong, everything looks good, but the quality and craftsmanship of each product is low grade. We had to replace the faucet because the sprayer stopped working. We got a Kohler instead and couldn't be happier. Our farmhouse sink just doesn't drain properly. There isn't enough slope from the 4 corners of the sink to drain downwards towards the drain. You have to use your hand to move any food towards the drain. The Craftsman door though looks beautiful is poor insulated which cheap weather strips, not a tight seal. Here's the bottom line, if you want save a few bucks I guess, and don't care about quality, just looks, then this place is for you and for house flippers who put the cheap stuff in their homes when they rent them or sell them.

As for me, when dealing with the associates at Seconds & Surplus every interaction was professional and pleasant. My husband and I recently completed the build of our new home and purchased several items from Seconds & Surplus. We purchased two double iron doors, tile for our guest home, and the handles for both doors etc. After installation I had a few concerns and reached out, an associate answered the phone and said the manager was on break, but they would forward those concerns to him so that he could call me back. Honestly, I was going to hold my breath as it usually would take several days to get a call back when calling a business about a concern however when calling Seconds and Surplus the manager, Cordell called me within a few hours. He took the time to listen to my concerns and showed a genuine interest in what I had to say. He asked that he reach out later in the week as he needed to find out what he could do for me. He promptly reached out a few days later with a resolution to my issues. Shortly after speaking to him Mr. Williams, the Regional Vice President reached out via email. He was very professional and even took the time to send me some links on one of the rare concerns I had. I was very shocked and pleased that someone in his position took the time to not only apologize for those few minor concerns but take a moment out of his day to make sure they were all taken care of. Walked right in to this unassuming warehouse off Harry Hines and found just what I was looking for. They also have lots of cabinets, doors, and vanities. Someone building or remodeling a home could do well getting out of vogue materials like 8 foot tall walnut bookcases or a complete set of solid wood kitchen cabinets for $1000. We were a bit pressed for time, so we didn't get to really look at everything, other than to take a quick look through the warehouse. The warehouse is a real sensory overload. They also have yard sculpture pieces outside that I did not look at. They have good prices on some really good looking cabinets, as well as doors of all kinds. We have a older house, and so will be slowly renovating. DHW will be our first priority of places to come to for that vintage look, as well as the current stuff. Maria was very nice to show me around, and we were stunned at how much stuff they have.

Their friendly and helpful telephone staff will tell you if the part you're looking for is in stock and the counter service employee is just as friendly and helpful. I learned a little about o-rings and they even made sure the one I asked for was the correct one for the application. I suspect most people who need specialized o-rings already know about this place, but if you don't, this is the place to go. I was going to order some from e-bay or get some from Grainger - but they only came in packs of 10 or 25 and it was going to cost me $15-$40 for a pack, plus shipping. I picked up a couple of options at H & D for less than $2 for one and $3 for the other. I wish all businesses were this helpful and friendly.

Seeing as he wasn't willing to do his damn job, I (a) googled a bunch of lumber yards in the area, (b) put them all in a spreadsheet, and (c) called them one by one to ask what they would recommend and what the pricing on that would be. I didn't expect Craddock, with its relatively high-property-value location in the heart of the Medical District, to have the cheapest prices, but they did. Craddock's price was in some cases HALF of what other lumber yards quoted me (I wonder if those other places were upcharging because they realized they had the homeowner on the line and thought I was incapable of comparison shopping). Craddock also had wonderful customer service, and delivery only cost $50. Tell your contractor.
