Crowley consumers beware Over the weekend I attempted to…read morepurchase Bobcat attachment from Anthony Armendariz a presentive of Lonestar tile and granite company in Crowley. I drove up from San Antonio to purchase the item and met him at his family's Lonestar Tile and Granite business location on FM-1187 shook hands with everyone and paid the agreed price to directly Anthony Armendariz in cash. There were other people there his uncle, his girlfriend who I had been communicating with and other workers. When I arrived, it was already dark and the item was already hanging from a forklift ready to load. It was late and I was in a hurry to get on the road back to San Antonio, so I quickly loaded the item and left and no point in our communication did anyone ever mention the item missing parts or being not functional. 5 minutes down the road I stopped at QT to fuel up and to check my straps as the items was big and heavy. While checking my straps I noticed the item was missing the main hydraulic control component. I immediately call Anthony Armendariz girl friend who is the persons I had been communication with, and she said that they were not aware that anything was wrong with or missing from the item and said they would be happy to return my money. She also said that there was some parts that possibly went to the piece of equipment at the business and I could go back and look at them. At this point I was pretty sure it was just an honest oversite, and the part would be found at the business, and I would be happy to take it with me and sort it out when I got home but not luck. The missing very important and very expensive part was not able to be found I then communicated this to Anthony Armendariz and his girl friend and they then stopped communicating with me at all. I decided that my best course of action was to unload the item and leave it there and with the hope that these people would do the right thing and return my money. Unfortunately I had to much faith in the honestly of the company and this family and they will not return my calls or messages. I am posting this because this is a family business and if this is how they operate it should be known to community. I am still hopeful that they will do the right thing but we will see and I will up date this if the situation changes.

I thought it might be a fluke so I drove to the showroom a week later. I encountered the exact same treatment. I wanted to see tile samples for an upcoming project and after several minutes of totally irrelevant questions I was told "Well, you know we don't have tile here that you can take home today. It has to be ordered". I have GC'd a dozen or more complete builds and countless remodels and have never experienced this level of poor service on any material purchase.

Utterly WOW! I had been running around to every stone warehouse and talking to almost a dozen…read morefabricators over a period of several months, based on Google research and Facebook ads. We had resigned ourselves to pretty basic (ie "UGLY") granite due to our budget. But I drive past this fabricator almost every day near my house, and decided to stop in on a whim to see if they could beat a price that another fabricator had quoted me on a slab I had seen at a warehouse. Isa greeted me cheerily and said she'd do a little research. By the end of the day she had sent me quotes on several slabs, including the one I was interested in. Her quote beat out the other fabricator (and she didn't know the competitor's price!), but she suggested I take a look at another showroom in The Colony called Verona Marble, to see if there was anything there I liked. Pulling up in front of the place, I quickly realized they would have NOTHING in my price range, but I went in anyway, and fell in love with multiple slabs I knew I could never afford. I sent her the ones I liked, and to my shock, one was square in my budget range, and the other 2 I could have pulled off. However, my favorite slab was the one that she quoted within my budget, and that's the one we picked. It's a new type of finish called "iced," which is a combination of the new, trendy "leathered" finish (which offers a coarse, almost pebbly surface) with a final polish that only shines up the larger, highest patches of the stone. It's utterly breathtaking to look at, AND touch. Visually and texturally stunning. Their quote on this slab was lower than quotes for even the basic, cheap slabs I was getting from other contractors, I could not believe it. (The base granite in the slab was an otherwise drab, basic, grey granite you see everywhere, but the finish transforms it into something that looks super high-end and perfectly matched the look in my new kitchen. This is why it was in my price range, the granite itself is cheap, it's the finish that elevates it.) They scheduled measurements/templates for the day after my contractor was supposed to finish installing my cabinets. Unfortunately, he had to come back that morning for a couple of hours to finish, so he was present when Granite Fabricators came to template. This meant I had to reschedule templating for later in the day, incurring an extra fee. (My cabinet contractor's fault.) However, they measured at 2pm, and the countertops were installed THE NEXT DAY. (Keep in mind, this was in January, which is the slowest month for countertop fabricators.) As a chef, not having a kitchen means not having income, so I was SO impressed with this turnaround time. Something to note is that their people showed up early for EVERY appointment at my house, so if you have a 2pm appointment time, please be ready to expect them up to an hour early. As someone who works from home, this was not a big deal for me, but if they had arrived at their stated time (or a bit later, as most contractors do), I might not have had to pay for a reschedule when they showed up while my cabinet guy was finishing up. Overall, I am utterly thrilled by Granite Fabricators of Dallas. Their prices can't be beat, Isa and Elva in the office are super friendly and follow up quickly, and our new countertops have astounded everyone who has seen them. They look ultra-luxe, far beyond what we expected to get with our budget.

I've used them several times over the years. One time was to do some counter top replacements so I…read morecould update a kitchen in an older home I was about to sell, and a couple of times to replace some marble when I was trying to keep costs down. They did a good job of sourcing the marble needed to blend in with what was already there. On the house I sold, I looked it over pretty good, and was happy that I saw straight grout lines. No little chips in the marble anywhere, it was a good job. They get in and get work done. I've never had any problem with them flaking out on when they are supposed to show up for work. They have most of the stuff prepared, so when they get there, it's more a matter of installing it, and not spending time "trying to get stuff to fit". The guys that have done work have always been nice, and they've answered any questions or concerns I had, even when I was probably just being an idiot about what I was asking. Last time I used them, they had just moved to a place in Burleson where they said they opened a showroom. I didn't go out there to look, but this was a couple of years ago. Also, I happened to be talking to the owner last time and found out they also do a lot of subcontracting work. I haven't needed anything like that, but I wouldn't hesitate to call and ask them in the future if I needed anything. Been happy with all the work they've done.

It appears to be a family business. It took three weeks start to finish. Eric came out and did the estimate, returned to do some sort of template measurement and then the delivery. The granite is beautiful (see photos) and I just love it. Could not be more pleased. We went to the following granite people: Tile, Marble & Granite Works on Vickery - $300 more, slow response Lowes, $600 cheaper but had sketchy Yelp reviews, slow response Froman Granite, same price as Natural Stone but email communication only-lack of personal service.
