There was recently a big big cricket invasion that no one did anything about. If you don't pay extra(for camps/classes/etc.), they can only really crowd into a single gym(and not even all the time due to basketball lessons) or do math/chinese packets. Additionally, I recall there being an issue with water splashing/wet floors in the bathrooms. Huayi simply closed the bathrooms (boys) and put cameras in as well. Hua Yi was also sold recently to Mrs. Sun. I remember her as a nice Chinese teacher, they have also changed their logo to a friendlier, more modern one. I hope this reflects potential changes in their building/school in future as well.

As someone who has spent time here, I can see both the good and the bad. On the positive side, while some of the kids might not be the easiest to get along with (to put it mildly), the teachers here deserve recognition. Special shoutout to Mrs. Xie and Mr. Jefferson--they're truly amazing! Many students complain about how "mean" the teachers are, but honestly, they don't realize how challenging it must be to work a demanding 9-to-5 job, managing a classroom full of unruly kids every single day. It's no easy task, and I think the teachers deserve a lot more credit for their dedication and effort. That said, there's room for improvement. Take the restrooms, for example--they're far from sanitary. They're crawling with cockroaches, and I'm pretty sure they don't meet the state's health standards. While there have been some small improvements, they're still a long way from acceptable. Then there are the classrooms. They're overcrowded, which makes it nearly impossible for teachers to give students the attention they need. The rooms themselves aren't much better--they don't even have windows, and the walls and desks are littered with graffiti and profanity (I won't repeat any of it because, well, let's keep things appropriate). On top of that, the furniture hasn't been replaced in 20 years. It's outdated and falling apart--it's long overdue for an upgrade, Mrs. Yi. (P.S they give us activities like basketball ping pong and a whole room dedicated to playing which keeps us sane and from not going crazy) Despite all this, the school is still standing and trying its best after all these years. But with just a bit of effort and investment, it could go from "just getting by" to a place everyone could truly take pride in.

My 8 year old daughter has been attending Explore Horizons Frisco for about 4 months for help with…read morereading and math. She has already made significant progress in math (now above grade level!) and is making solid gains in reading as well. She was a year behind in reading and is steadily catching up. When we did the trial class, I was skeptical because it just looked like a bunch of kids sitting around on computers. However, we decided to give it a try due to reasonable cost, no long term commitment, no assigned homework and a spot-on assessment of my daughter's needs at the end of the trial class. I've been very pleased so far. The sessions are highly individualized, and she is exposed to many math concepts that she hasn't even done in school yet. The staff give feedback after each session, and the director does a one-on-one written progress update every two months. This is extremely helpful in tracking progress against state academic standards and grade level performance and in identifying strengths and weaknesses. The staff are all very friendly, encouraging and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend Explore Horizons Frisco.

All the teachers are meticulous and cater to the needs of each student and follow up on progress diligently. My son benefited from Kumon classes to secure place in FISD GT group where he got involved in advanced learning. My daugher was afraid of Math in the beginning of her kindergartner months but guided teaching from Mr. Ace's tutors helped her gain confidence and was able to better her Star scores in Math from 60% to 95% !!!
