There is a very simplistic feel to this gym...there may not be fancy equipment but everything they do is very effective. Travis is pretty hands on and makes sure you are doing exercises correctly to get the best results. He showed me how to improve my squat so that they were less harmful to my knees! I was also able to see some of his success stories there and these folks are inspiring! I called and spoke with Corey and he stated that the facility was going to be closing for renovations. I already knew something was up. The space is small what more can they do to it. Well, he told me that we will be getting an email from corporate about what going on and that we will be getting refunds. I did receive an email from corporate that Sunday night telling me another lie about what they're doing and how they plan to reopen in 6 weeks but that we were going to be getting a refund by the end of the week. That was December 15 and today is Jan 16 and I still have yet to receive anything from D1. I have sent emails with no response. I called the Frisco location which is were Corey from Firewheel D1 went to. He told me that refunds had been refunded, but after talking to some the other clients that also attended D1 Firewheel they have not yet received their refund either. I've reached out to corporate no response the number for corporate on the website for immediate assistance goes straight to voicemail. I really thought highly of D1 the trainers were all great. But, the owners they don't care about us. They only care about lining their pockets.

If I can't bring in my jump rope (because it's outside equipment) how can you bring in your dogs?

Their gyms are sectioned off into different workout areas so that you can concentrate on different parts of the body or if you are in a rush you can grab a quick workout in the 30-minute workout room with less crowds. With a Black Card membership you also get access to their workout videos that you can air drop to your smart TV. These are great for when you don't want to get out in bad weather or just want to start your workouts in the privacy of your own home. I absolutely love the hydro-massage lounge chairs that come with Black Card membership. They sooth sore muscles after a long workout. And plenty of cleaning supplies in the rooms so you can wipe down loungers before and after use. They also have red light therapy and tanning booths for Black Card members. PF gyms are always clean and have sanitizing sprays and paper towel bins throughout gym so you can quickly clean off machines. Their bathrooms are always tidy and kept fresh. I think the icing on the cake with a Black Card membership is that you can always bring one guest with you AND you can workout at any Planet Fitness in the U.S!!! I travel from Florida to Texas three times a year and it's great that I can go to any Planet Fitness in either state. I will say the Duck Creek location parking lot is not in great of condition and I would ask that PF apply a little pressure to get it updated. In addition this location is still undergoing repairs in couple of rooms due to heavy rain leaks. It has been a couple of months and I suspect budget cuts but the machines are still in use and there is still plenty of room in the gym to move through machines. I've been a member of a few other gyms in both Texas and Florida and despite these (minor) setbacks, PF to me is one of the better ones. Give them a try.... No contracts!!!

A few days later I received a follow up call and the lady I spoke to asked me to set up a time to come in for a "tour" I asked how long it would take she told me 15 minutes so I scheduled a time before work. The next morning I wake up early and drove over only to be greeted by a young lady at the desk who simply went over pricing with me. There was no offer of a tour so that I can see the facility and what they offer. Had I known all that was going to be discussed was pricing without the ability to see the facility I would have just asked for that over the phone rather than wasting my time and gas. Based on the small glimpse I saw it does not look as though the amount they are charging matches the experience they offer. I'd pay a little extra and go to Orange Theory.

The water is noticeably more murky, and Y'ALL, last week when I was there doing my lap swim, I spotted a spider that was no joke at least 3 and maybe 4 inches dead at the bottom of the pool just bobbing up and down on the pool floor as people swam by (spine shivers). I appreciate that it has 4 lanes versus the three at the Sachse location, and it seems like the early morning spin instructor on Saturdays is super friendly/ draws a good crowd. When I tried to find a spin bike, many of them in the studio were broken in various ways. It seems like maintenance and cleaning are chief concerns for this location. Temper your expectations about the pool before coming and shower well after. Also watch out for British Swim School which comes in and takes over with lessons during certain hours.
