Texas de Brazil is a carnivores delight. A wide selection of variety meats. My husband is one of the many carnivores that has a great palate for most meats. He enjoyed red meats such as the brisket, sirloin steak, filet mignon (both with & without bacon), pork ribs, the beef ribs, and flank steak. I am not as much of a carnivore, but I did really like the filet mignons. I also enjoyed the delicious leg of lamb, the parmesan-crusted pork lions, and marinated pork lion. We both thought the salad bar had a great selection of sides and soup. We both also thought the bacon wrapped chicken, parmesan drumettes, picanha (with & without garlic), and Brazilian sausage was fabulous as well. When you are seated, they bring tapioca cheese bread rolls, sweet fried bananas, and mashed potatoes. Keeping the "all you can eat" flowing, you just keep the green side of the place card facing up. When you want a break or are finished just flip the card to the red side. Most of the meats are served/carved off of large meat skewers. We also enjoyed a Caipirinhas cocktail. A Brazilian traditional cocktail. A very delicious drink. Although we saw many families come in to enjoy the wonderful food, it is also a great place for friends and dates. It is decorated lovely and feels fancy... a great place for an anniversary or special occasion. The chilled salad bar is extensive, the food delicious and high-quality. The hot side dishes were good. We were told meats are served medium-rare, which we prefer. We tried 6 different meats and only 2 were medium-rare. The rest was overcooked. I expected better, given how expensive it is and what we were promised. Next time we will have an earlier reservation and see if that makes a difference. I do like that you can basically eat as much as you want. Staff was friendly and professional. Our table was against the wine room glass wall. Boxes of wine inventory were pushed against the glass, which our table was right beside. It was a little tacky to eat beside boxes honestly. They should store the boxes behind the wine display, not in front of it. I would go one more time closer to when they open. If the meats are still overcooked, I won't be returning. read more

Food as always hit the spot. However i am very upset about what transpired this evening. Got to Texas De Brazil. Immediately sat at a table. Spoke to our waitress about having a VIP dining card. "Ok great, I'll have a manager take that at the end of the meal." Perfect, let's eat. Enjoy our meal and at the end she asked the manager to come over. "Can i see your card he says" pull it out to show him and he replies, "those are Monday - Thursday only." Now granted, i had COMPLETELY FORGOT AS WELL, BUT, there is NO VIP card that works on the weekends so we should have been told at the BEGINNING when we explained we were using one. I feel took. "EVERYTHING IS RAW INSIDE" .... for those that want to read the full story, here it is. My wife and I spent a weekend in Tyler and decided to give Texas de Brazil a try. Not a great experience and certainly not for the cost. Pro's- Great location, plenty of parking, had a reservation and got right in. Seating placement was good. Nice atmosphere and wait staff were friendly. Salad Bar was fantastic. After reading the reviews we noted a lot of complaints of undercooked meat, so we were ready to avoid that. When asked by our waitress how we liked our meats we both said medium to well done in the hopes of ending up somewhere other than underdone. Nope, that didn't work. Con's- first three meats we tried were almost raw beneath the beautiful outside appearance. Forth piece of meat was the opposite, we could hardly cut it with a knife and to this day I cannot identify it. It was akin to a meatball made of shoe leather. I thought I'd try the big dinosaur sized ribs. I got a big, beautiful slice right off the top...all fat. Lastly, the sausage... it's nearly impossible to mess up a sausage link. Whoa! First time ever being at a Texas de Brazil... and it certainly did not disappoint!!! Meat, meat, and more meat!!! I thought I'd be in a meat coma stupor.... But surprisingly... For my Christmas gift from a certain purdy Lady, we had a reservation for 4:30 which is a bit early by most standards, but it's NYE and didn't miss out on some other festivities. With that being said, we were seated immediately and the meats were coming full force! One right after another. The tri-tip was very good but man the Filet Mignons were on point!! First we hit salad bar area but I chose the sautéed mushrooms and that shrimp in jalapeños? C'mon son... that's what I'm talking about!! Anyway, the variety of meats was astounding. Chicken wrapped in bacon, sirloins, flanks, filets, ribeye, and leg of lamb, and that sausage... WHOA... meat sweats... they're a coming. The mashed potatoes were good but seemed cold upon arrival. We ordered the coconut drink (forgetting the name but it was like a Pina Coladas Mojito. That was mighty mighty tasty, for sure. Once it got busy, though... it was a little longer of a wait for servers to come and go, but it allowed the food to settle, despite having the option to flip the card to control it. The drinks were good, a little confused thought some stuff was Happy Hour it wasn't, but they were still good. Our server was great I can't remember his name, but he was outstanding. The food the salad bar is 5 star at least for us, the side bar was pretty good as well the meat the star of the show was hit and miss some great, some good, some not. Some of the beef was really tough including the filet which it shouldn't have been, the ribs had a good flavor sauce wise but were dry and not good. The meat can be salty with seasoning used but still all had good flavor some of it was just tough and chewy, would that stop us from coming back No! it may be better next go around. We also got Key lime pie and some sort of coconut something between the four of us those were very good. Overall pricing at $55 per adult for all you can eat and if you come hungry we really didn't isn't too bad, the bar drinks are kind of high but that's everywhere nowadays. Our guests got a piece of pecan pie to go as well and an espresso martini (not to go) a bottle of wine at the table. Service was amazing! Had reservations and we were seated immediately. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and answered every question we had. The salad bar was out of this world! I would like the option to buy that as a meal. The food was good. Very good in fact. A lot of different kinds of meats. They say you can ask for it to be cooked however you want and we should have. They tell you in the beginning it will be medium rare and I was just not ready for that. Some of the meats were fine but a couple were just too rare for us. Worst table server ever! The meat service was good and very friendly. Salad and hot items areas were clean but food was bland. Location was well maintained, clean and not so loud we couldn't talk. Everything might have been acceptable if not for our sever 1077 Abby. She stood at the bar, facing outward and talked, I couldn't even catch her eye so I got up and got my own water. I had to ask others walking by to remove dirty plates. She only came to our table 4 times, when introduced herself and asked what we wanted to drink, if were ready for our check brought our check and them brought our cards back to us. I've been to a few of these locations and I enjoy this one the most . It's smaller , which creates more of an intimacy when dining . The hosts and servers go above and beyond here. This place is amazing!! We took my parents,who are visiting from Oregon, who also have food allergies, here because it's become one of our favorite restaurants since moving to tyler. We called ahead to ask them if they have food that could work for my dad, who can't eat gluten or dairy. Most places seem annoyed or inconvenienced by the struggle of food allergies, however we had the opposite experience here. The staff went OUT OF THIER WAY to make sure my dad was taken care of! When we arrived they had made a menu for him, marking specially what on the menu he could have. They made sure he knew what he couldn't eat, and made sure he got extra of what he could eat! They constantly checked on us and made sure he was able to have a wonderful experience. The restaurant is clean, they are SO accommodating, the servers were fun and engaging. It was beyond refreshing to be treated so kindly even with having food allergies, it feels very rare to be treated with such kindness! I could leave 10 stars I would! Thank you! 5/5 service and food! The salad bar is super expansive and has more options than I'm used to at other Brazilian steakhouses. My mom loved the lobster bisque, and my dad was all about the salad bar (with real bacon to crumble on top). My favorite was the potatoes au gratin and the fresh mozzarella with tomato, yummm. The house speciality pichana is sooo good, as is the flank steak. It literally melts in your mouth. There were plenty of options including lamb, chicken, filet, spicy pichana and sausage. The staff did a great job bringing out a variety of meats and making sure every table was seen and attended to. Also make sure to try a Brazilian lemonade (there is an alcoholic option, too)! Very disappointed in this Texas de Brazil. They are the only one that charges you separately for lamb. So for $60 per person, you have to pay extra for lamb. Very weird. just left this location and for the first time in a long while i experienced racism on the level that just happened. we had a party of 3 and behind us was a party of 3,7, and 4. when i asked how long the wait was, the manager said, "just give me a few minutes. there would be no wait." as we waited at the bar, all of the parties behind us were sitted. at this point there were no parties waiting to be seated but us. then the manager looks at us and continued to walk so i stopped him and asked him how much longer would the wait be...he arcastically said "25 to 30 minutes." if you are white or hispanic, this is a great location for you to eat but if you happened to be black beware beware beware beware beware beware beware beware this is a racist establishment. read more

Atmosphere: Really like the way they have done this restaurant. If you sit towards the front of the restaurant you have tons of windows to be able to see out and have a nice sunset dinner (depending on when you get there). Colors throughout are red/black/and gold colors, in the back its a little darker which is nice if you are on a date. Noise level isn't bad at all. I have been several times and never have a problem with it being too loud or so quiet its awkward. Food/Service: Food is excellent!!! I have been to several TDB's over the years and they never disappoint. Both the salad bar and meat options are good for anyone. Our servers/meat guys (can't think of what their actual name is :/) do a great job making sure if there is something specific you want they will get it going and over to you table. The restaurant is beautiful, smaller than the other ones we have gone to. Our server was excellent and very pleasant to talk to. When we first started getting our meats they were well done. A bit unusual to see, per one of the cooks they had a crowd before we arrived that wanted more Well meat? A bit weird for East Texas since most of the people I know would want Medium Rare. Our first visit to Texas de Brazil did not disappoint! Going in I knew there would be tons of food, but I didn't expect how great it was all going to taste. I'm glad we had reservations, the place was packed and people stood in line for the entire time we were there. First off, the salad bar is simply delicious! Our waiter instructed us to fill out the card with whatever we wanted and we did so. They have someone make your salad plate to keep in guidelines with COVID 19 restrictions. The potatoes, mushrooms, salad, pineapple........ were outstanding! Then comes all the meat. Wow is all I can say. I tried I think a little of all of it. The meat was cooked perfectly, they will serve you exactly what you want. Keep your placard turned to green and you will get full ! The filet was probably my favorite, but it all were very good. I took my Aunt to Texas de Brazil to celebrate her retirement and the time spent together. It was the best experience I've had at a restaurant, being on the carnivore diet. The meats were on a three-minute rotation. The service was professional and entertaining. They let me select the cut of meat I wanted with a smile. Our waiter, Arturo, was professional and charming. I have been to other Texas de Brazil restaurants and have had wonderful experiences with food, service and ambiance, but the Tyler, TX location was a big disappointment. I will say that the salad bar was very good. The restaurant seemed to be understaffed at least with meat servers. It was 10 to 15 minutes between meat servers. The top sirloin was so tough it couldn't be cut with the steak knives, multiple offers of the sausage and chicken, but none of the speciality meats. The ambiance of the restaurant is more akin to a Golden Corral, but at a much higher price. Not the place for a nice quiet dinner. Won't be going back. read more

We had our first experience last night - Tuesday. It was not crowded, maybe 6 tables. Waiter explained how everything worked and we went to the salad bar. Several salad options, dressing needed to be stirred and lots of big brownish clumps of lettuce in one. Had a few varieties of different things, nothing that blew my dress up. First round of meat - honestly I could not understand the guy that brought it. Thought it was some kind of chicken but it was not good. I could not eat it. The meats that were good were the medallions and the fillet- those were great. Make sure you get the chimmichurra sauce from the salad bar. It makes it even better. Waiter disappeared at the end and we had to wait a while to get our check and then he was overly aggressive trying to get us to order dessert. We told him we did not want dessert and he brought out the tray anyway and told us we could just get it to go if we were too full. Dude, we waited ten plus minutes for the check and we just want to leave. So the bill was $125 for two of us including two beers- totally not worth it in my opinion. read more

We have dined at Texas de Brazil in Addison, Tx, so we decided to try the Tyler location Thursday evening. We were surprised that only 5 other tables sat at 7 p.m. The ambiance is very nice and the floral arrangement above the salad bar is amazing! The salad bar offers a varied assortment of salads, cheeses, pickled veggies, etc. Everything was very fresh and beautifully displayed. Our waiter was incredible! Very on top of things, prompt, friendly, and kind. He told us that their meats are served medium rare and asked if that was to our liking, which it is. We ordered a bottle of Dau cabernet to pair with the meat offerings. The first meat offered was their filet and it was perfectly cooked and delicious. The second offering was the parmesan-crusted pork. It was so overcooked and dry, we did not eat it. Next, the bacon-wrapped chicken. Both of ours were again overcooked and dry, but my husbands had a long, black hand wrapped around the bacon. (He is bald and I'm a redhead, so we knew it wasn't ours). We informed the waiter and he promptly took the plate and showed the manager. Our waiter returned with a fresh plate and fork for my husband, apologized and asked if everything else was to our liking. We showed him the pork and the chicken and how they were both overcooked. He went to the kitchen, informed them, and within a few minutes, the meat servers returned with freshly cooked meat offerings. Again, the pork was overcooked and we passed on the bacon-wrapped chicken. The best cut of meat that evening was the filet and the parmesan-crusted chicken. We both ordered after-dinner drinks and shared a piece of carrot cake. When we were speaking with our waiter, the manager came by to say thank you for coming in. We've been to this place several times in the past year and half. And my previous impression of it has been, it was mediocre. My son loves Brazilian steakhouse so we have been to a number of these restaurants in Texas including the best one we found in San Antonio. I was pleasantly surprised by this place at our most recent visit in March of 2022, the service and food were much better than the precious 2 times. Our waiter was super attentive and with best manners, the meat staff alway has smiles and pleasantries, my son's fork fell and someone walked over promptly to pick it up and replace it with a new one, and the manager came and asked us how our food was which was excellent. The meat just seem to be seasoned better than the past. These days when many places continue to blame poor service, poor quality, and price hikes on the aftermath of COVID, I want to praise this place for going against the flow of bare minimum and really stand out in its management to bring quality and pride back to the restaurant industry. It was freezing cold in here and at a point they stopped bringing the meat around... Additionally, I loved the coos coos but I feel that the salad bar could be better. I think this place is overrated. They need to decide on a proper dress code and if they are high end or family dining. They don't enforcing the dress code. So for those who do follow the dress code it's very awkward sitting next to a table or several tables in a fancy restaurant with others in shorts, tank tops, and flip flops like they came from the beach. The food overall was good. The service was better then the food. Although the concept was not explained to our table so we were confused as to why pirates were walking around with huge slabs of meat carrying swords to tables. I suppose I expected more from a high end, pricey place that charged what it did and from the atmosphere it presented. No bartender and the server didn't know her liquor choices. I expected the meat flavors to knock my socks off but it was okay. I've had better, a lot better. Honestly, the salad and soup bar were the better choice.
